Working on a deck for the past week and I've finally got the point where it is, where I want it to be. Synergy here is AWESOME. I went from "If you can't beat aggro, join them" then find a way to be better
While going over play testing I noticed that Zameck Guildmage was just a beast on card draw when Gyre Sage keeps gaining counters.
Tamiyo, the Moon Sage : Look at the cards were using here, then look at Tamiyo's second ability "Target Player". I find when I drop a Tamiyo i'm about to draw 4-5 cards just to keep the advantage up and running.
Another card you will noticed that hasn't seen play much (well two of them in here) first is the non elf creature. Beguiler of Wills. When making my card choice's I wanted to find removal either using rancor or unsummon. When I looked at the mana curve I noticed that for how early I can have 3-4 creatures with Beguiler on the field it is going to get nasty if they can't remove it. That also made the easy choice of Simic Charm. The "Everyone has hexproof" it is hard to pass up. Beguiler has won more games than I can think of so far.
As for the second "say what" card in the deck Akroma's Memorial No one is running it right now, but if it hits...it is almost telling your opponent "Let me know when you are ready to scoop" The card is a beast and has a feeling of the old elves and Eldrazi Monument
The synergy and speed here are awesome. If you like to play cards and draw draw and then draw then this might be up your ally!
I am still looking for a sideboard but it is almost a sideboardless deck as well....it's plays all of the good elves Minus a 1 drop you all know (Didn't make the cut as i'm not running black)
Hope others see potential as I do. Looking to post game results but so far it has been able to run with :
I have been working with this since the Gatecrash spoilers, the one hurdle that I have found is that there is no endgame.
There is much mana, but nothing to really sink it into.
So I have looked to closers like Craterhoof Behemoth.
Also (imo) that is far too many Tamiyo if you are going to use her.
Another main issue with this combination is that it is very squishy to board wipes.
I am thinking of cutting down a few 4 ofs to get some Thraggies in there too.
Maybe 3 Deathrite, 3 Gyre for +2 Thragtusk .
