So I have been working on some deck idea's for it.
The most obvious think you can do it use it as a finisher for an aggro deck. I feel that is a pretty boring use for it but BUG are very good for this kind of thing. It has a lot of 3 mana cards that are great for it.. plus you can focus more on the self milling reanimate and these colours are great for doing that.
I think I should probably trying to get more mana ramp.
I think this is fairly simple sticking the card into an existing deck but I think I have found an even more powerful effect for it but I need some help tuning it since I just came up with it tonight.
I don't think it can go infinite but it gets nuts really quickly.. Augur goes through your deck looking for the faiths rewards and immortal servitudes. Immortal servitude is a 5 mana faiths reward that hits previously used cards, I think I can optimise it with a bit more fiddling I am unfortunately not expert on this kind of combo.
I saw this thread before I went to work and thought about it all day. Instead of X=2 or X=3. Why don't we go bigger? Like 9/9 Haste big. Let's make X=5 Immortal Servitude.
With X=5, it gives us access to one of the premier creatures in the format. Thundermaw Hellkite. 5 CMC seems to be the magic number since there's also Wolfir Silverheart, Thragtusk and Zealous Conscripts in that slot. Ideally we'd like to cast Servitude for X=5 with a Wolfir Silverheart, Thundermaw Hellkite, Thragtusk then Zealous Conscripts in ranking order. I've also included Fervor there if we want to go all in with the Thragtusks and Wolfir Silverhearts as well
The issue actually arises from getting the creatures to the graveyard. With Rest in Peace safely in everyone's sideboard, we don't want to leave our fatties in there for more than 2 turns. Balustrade Spy lets us mill ourselves until we hit a land. How do we then minimise our land count in the deck?
Farseek, Ranger's Path, Caravan Vigil, Evolving Wilds. Well first of all, we'd need to get to 8 mana, to even cast Immortal X=5ervitude. So with this amount of ramp, it shouldn't be an issue. Faithless Looting allows us to filter through and find Immortal Servitude and Balustrade Spy.
Now that I think about it, why don't we just play Primal Surge?
I feel immortal servitude is much better when cast for a low number not only does it cost less mana but it means your deck has lots of low casting cost creatures so the deck works without the card but goes nuts with it.
I did some more testing and research into this... and I remembered a certain card that shuffles back into your library when cast serene remembrance it might not be conjurers bauble but it does the trick.
the mana base is undercontruction, I almost want to have all basics so I can keep searching for them.. but I think I need something like this to make the deck work at all.
I would probably max out on the Blood Artists (your main win con) and drop the Augurs (9 Instants/Sorceries don't seem enough to make it good)
Archaeomancer might also be a card to consider as you can basically go infinite with it. With 2x Burning Trees, an Archaeomancer and a Faith Reward you can continue bringing your creatures back for W.
How do you sac Prism to make it come back untapped though?
EDIT: I just realized that you also can generate mana off of the Ghost Quarters and the interaction between Ghost Quarter and Abundant Growth is also pretty nice. Definitely a sweet list. Pretty fragile though and R.I.P. hoses it pretty bad.
Atm I don't think you can go infinite but you can go through several iterations a turn and that is often enough to kill, even quicker if you hit with the vampire at least once.
I originally had prophetic prism in there since I had anything with draw a card on it in there... the only way to get it to work was with Torch fiend
The deck is dead to a lot of things, rest in peace, slaughter games a well timed dissipate and deathrite sharman. I think I will work on some sort of sideboard plan once I have optimised the deck, I even changed the deck as I was posting it (I did have 4 blood artists a minute before I posted)
The thing with the Augurs is that even though they miss a lot they get you to your faiths rewards and immortal servitudes by cycling through your deck until you get them allowing you to get multiples in hand to go through repeated cycles a turn. It is better than hoping you draw them.
hows this working out... i tried b/w zombies and humans... humans was better but still inconsistent bringing back champions and dorks works well... X in servitude brings back only CMC x FYI... I liked Essence Harvest and Bloodthrone Vamp but it loses before you go off 95% of the time.
Oh my gosh! I'm soooo happy that other people have been trying to do this too.
My biggest issue is that I can't decide weather to run green or blue.
I would kind of like to work Heartless Summoning into it, and Havengull lich. Because replaying Blood Artist does a decent impression of Perilous Myr.
Although, green gives us Abundant Growth and Verdant Haven to abuse with Faiths Reward and Ghost Quarter.
It seems like, regardless of how you make the deck, that Crypt Ghast should be included.
One other thing is that Screeching Skaab could work nice with Immortal Servitude set to X=2.
Pretty simple plan, go for a ton of 1for1 trades and removal early game, finish with death pings and garruk putting out tokens. Servitude for 1 or 2 can be a huge blowout by the time you hit the mana or the card, returning some 4+ deathtouch creatures while you are probably just about to hit wolfhunter equip mana and shut down the board. Golgari charm giving regenerate even protects you from supreme verdict and alleviates some of the weakness to curse of death's hold by being maindeck enchantment hate.
Still can't decide if the red splash for lightning prowess is better then just sharpened pitchforks. Certainly more reward to having murder tappers than mini glissas but the 3 mana is invested all at once, requires the off color splash, and opens you to a bad 2 for 1.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
"A scrupulous writer, in every sentence that he writes, will ask himself at least four questions, thus: 1. What am I trying to say? 2. What words will express it? 3. What image or idiom will make it clearer? 4. Is this image fresh enough to have an effect? And he will probably ask himself two more: 1. Could I put it more shortly? 2. Have I said anything that is avoidably ugly?"
Uh, because why would he play a bad card just to get a 5/6 flier back? There's a reason skaaby didn't see much tourney play except for a mizer in pod decks: His reanimation cost is way too steep. If you don't draw a servitude, he's likely a dead card.
The other option that I would like to explore is Rbw, focusing on dumping 4--drops in the grave and controlling the game with sweepers and spot removal, until you can cast servitude for x=4.
Here's the creatures it would run:
Hellrider
Falkenrath aristocrat
Spark trooper
Arching dragon
And there's another good, hasty 4 drop, but I can't remember it's name.
I think i'm gonna buy 3x more of this card so as to avoid getting hit by the massive price jump I think this card will get once people figure out its a thing. I just can't help but feel that people are underestimating it.
I actually first started trying this with my Boros deck. Makes using Vexing devil kind of cool and a lot of my creeps are one drops too. I basically just use it to gain a board after I top out and my creatures have been eliminated or such, especially with the little 1/1 goblin dude who battle cries and gives things first strike and trample.
Please don't make crap up. This is such an obvious word vomit it's ridiculous. Something about the internet and people thinking they need to say something to fit in..
i like the combo ish verson of the deck but it looks like it cant really go off until 5-6 ish since we dont have a massive mana ramp artifact like eggs
The four color route is such a strain. I'll miss the dig of blue, but the deck caved in from its horrid mana base far too many times to be even considered as a serious deck. Junk seems to be the best direction. Lingering Souls is a powerhouse. Mulch gives us fuel. Priest might provide the muscle we require
So I have been working on some deck idea's for it.

This I like... particularly since you can build all walls to defend yourself against aggro.
you can use doorkeeper to mill yourself it is unfortunately not 3 cmc though.
the 3 cmc walls all have 4 or more toughness other than axebane which is the critical toughness to brick wall aggro.
