I'm going to have more time to do serious testing for GP Atlantic City since the holidays are over for the most part after tomorrow. With that said, I'm wondering what decks you guys would consider for a Gauntlet of Standard. It seems kind of hard to cover all bases since the format is still pretty wide open.
Here's what I can come up with off the top of my head after going to a Grand Prix Trial, not dividing them into any particular tiers: UWr Flash, UWr Midrange, Rakdos Aggro (Both Br and Rb Variants), GB Midrange, Naya Midrange, Naya Humans, Jund Midrange, Esper Superfriends, 4C Midrange, Human Reanimator, Bant Control. There is probably other decks I should consider since the above is mostly from what I saw played or played against in the GPT I went to recently.
The gauntlet doesn't need to be quite so large. The currently popular decks that should take up most of your testing are UWr Flash, Rakdos (both versions), Naya, some form of a Reanimator deck, and likely Bant.
You could throw omnidoor in there because I can guarantee you will see some at gp ac but I have played it and you just have to know what turn they go off to kill them before it or what to counter. Always counter the tutor spell.

well the thing is there is a huge variety of decks being played right now. While not all of them make it to the top tables all the time, they are there. You can just test against the decks that make it to the top tables, but it's best to have a good knowledge of the other decks as well so that you can make it that far.

Big thanks to DarkNightCavalier from heroes of the planes studios for the sig!
KISS(keep it simple stupid). I'd test against 5 decks that are representive of the overall metagame. There's no reason spending your limited time testing against BR zombies and BR red based aggro. Just pick one.
That's 5 decks that represent most every archetype in standard right now. If you want to add a sixth deck, it should be Swarm Based Aggro which are basically silverblade paladin/champion of the parish decks and anything playing lotleth troll.
LP, I'm checking your article out as well. Behind all of your swag is the brain of one of the most intelligent Magic players I've ever known. I guess that's one more thing for you to add to the wall of ego that is your Sally sig.
I can go with that. LK, you are the Mace Windu of red mages...cool, tempered logic in deliberation, but capable of just flat kicking tail when the situation warrants it.

It also depends a lot on what deck you're running and what matchups in the general field favour you most. If you're playing naya midrange, I don't think you have enough room in your sb to be good against the whole field, and you're going to have to pick and choose what matchups you wanna be good at.
-Flash decks should be a decent matchup if your build is cavern centered, and I've seen some lists splashing black just for slaughter games (not sure if I completely agree), but it also saves them sb room if you want slaughtergames to be your hedge against revelations decks).
I think the point I'm trying to make is that you can't be prepared for every single deck, so you gotta pick your battles
