there might even be room here for barter in blood. I'm not entirely sure yet if blood artist should be included as well. but it you think it is a must lets definitly add it.

I feel like blood artist would actually be wonderful. With 4 of them, nearly every time you blow up with Mutilate, they will lose life and you'll gain some. This is also presuming all of their creatures die, which is awesome even if you have a tiny gravecrawler surviving or a messenger. This could be an interesting style for the deck. Id even suggest undying evil, and literally make it suicide black
You're probably going to want to bump up that land count to 24, 23 minimum with that many four-drops. But I feel like Mutilate is really just an "absolute" removal card. Personally, I believe Killing Wave paired with Blood Artist is much better, because it forces them to take damage either way, and you get the option of saving your artist if you want to.
I'm running a combo zombies deck that is mono black and is quite creature heavy, so I guess a Blood Artist + Mutilate combo could be deemed quite broken in the right situation (having enough lands to wipe their board). Anyways, here's the list without SB.
It curves out at 3 to keep land count low for more cards, but it may need an increase to support Mutilate. There are also some changes that will be made with the release of m13, such as the vampire that gets +2/+2 when you sac a creature. The overall idea of the deck is to drop a bunch of threats early on to get in for large portions of damage, then deal the remaining through 3-drop abilities and artist.

personally i would keep the ratchet bombs in since this is mono black and it has not mainboard answers to planeswalkers or artifacts.
as I think about the space mortar pod and demonlord of ashmouth fill, maybe demonlord might be a better option for mortar pods spot, be kind of nice to have some flying muscle in the deck to go with blood artist.
but for sake of conversing the idea mortar pod seems the better option to list.

in that with either of those we can sacrifice creatures and with this decks low mana curve either may grow to be big enough to survive mutilateion.
connoisseur can build up over time which makes her a little more promising where as bloodthrone is a 1 time deal.
at the same time were adding 2nd sacrifice outlet to the deck. which at the moment all it has is mutilate itself.

Mutilate can be very good. The synergy with the creature core of zombies decks makes the sweep feel one-sided.
Consider tricks like: opponent ramps into 3rd turn Primeval Titan. You attack with Gravecrawler, which is blocked by said Titan and dies, which your opponent assumes was just to steal one point of life with Blood Artist. Postcombat main phase you play the fourth Swamp you had kept in your hand, cast Mutilate and kill the Titan alongside everything else.
Which is to say nothing of stealing wins with double Blood Artist.

this would appear to be a strong direction for the deck since zombies is some of the best undying in the business.
another thought is if we go this route does this move the deck into MBC or can it remain MBA?
this is a rough outline so far
4 diregraf ghoul
4 gravecrawler
4 geralf's messenger
additional creatures:
4 butcher ghoul
3 vile rebirth
3 mortar pod
3 demonlord of ashmouth
4 geth's verdict
4 tragic slip
4 mutilate
2 ratchet bomb
