Okay so Perilous Myr didn't really live up to what I thought it would. It never really got there like I thought it would; it was always too small and only really worked with Post was in play.
Phoenix though never disappointed. I'm running it and Wurmcoil in a 4/3 split for 7 bombs total. They're both just so good.
What are you guys thinking for sideboards? I actually (finally) played a Delver deck... and the only way I could keep him under control was to board in lots of ... unusual cards. Namely Demolish. I know, I know, I know, it's bad. That said, it keeps them off their lands while also handling swords. It was surprisingly useful because I used the LD quite a bit (otherwise Smelt is WAY better). I also moved out two Wurmcoils for things he would not want to bounce: Tyrant of Discord. Again, not being an artifact hurts it, but with Trading Post that's not the biggest deal. We can recur artifacts all day. But this is just what I've been (oddly) testing.
I was also considering Devil's Play to get some reach and more removal. Act of Aggression has been great for stealing big threats to half-wipe the board... but I am unsure whether it's always worth it.
Surprisingly enough, the deck that gave me several problems was an RDW who somehow swapped over to burn in games 2 and 3, making most of my burn less powerful. Still, metalcrafted Galv Blasts are crazy.
Not pleased with Perilous Myr? Why not add some Mortarpods? Not only is it good with Perry, it provides another much needed relevant two-drop and some spot removal, and it also gives you a use for those goat tokens should you choose to make some.

There's something about a homemade avvy that makes you feel proud no matter how much it sucks.
inferno titan would probably go in for me, but slagstorm is beastly also. I hope to run 2 MD 2 SB.
GY hate works with frites until they hard cast whatever it is they are trying to find. I pack GY hate mostly for zombies also but mimic vat can take care of that. I think maybe devils play or red run? but an 8 cost red sun needs to be perfect timing and flashing back devils play to hit elesh norn...10 mana means good timing also. I thinka ct of aggression against frites would help, but siding zealous conscripts is more tempting in its place.
This deck is crazy good. It has so many ways to stabilize after taking some hits early. The only problem it has is against heavy aggro decks (goblins, white weenies, etc). I also lost half the time against Get'er Dungrove, (I hate that name). The match-up really depended on hitting Red Sun's against Strangleroots and them not getting that many Rancors. I only tested against one form of control so far which was Mono-Blue Wizards and I won that match-up with a dominating record of 13-1.

I will be doing more testing soon and I will play this at FNM this week. I'll be back with updates. Hope your testing goes well.
I REALLY like this decklist. with the exception being (IMO) slagstorm > whipflare and I would -2bonfire +1 Red Sun +1 Devil's play. (mostly cause I can't afford bonfire, but if I could I would keep it the way it is).
edit: did you happen to test against zombies or blood artist decks?
I actually don't like Bonfire in this. The XX for non-miracle really hurts and we're not concerned about hitting our creatures when we can recur all of them.
Bonfire was AMAZING. hardcasting it with the RXX was never an issue with all the mana ramp the deck has. I even hit the Miracle a couple times. Its true that were not worried about hitting our own creatures but Bonfire is too good to not use.
I wasn't able to test against zombies yet but I know there will be a zombie-pod deck at my FNM (atleast one actually). The mimic vats and redsuns should be crazy good in that match-up.
I'd rather just run Magmaquake, honestly. While not hitting fliers sucks, all of our other removal spells hit fliers. It's cheaper to cast and it hits Planeswalkers which is enough for me to run it over Bonfire.
i think magmaquake would be better than bonfire because I would have an issue dropping bonfire from my hand... I try to utilize all my mana each turn so it would probably sit in my hand longer than it needs too. Plus slagstorm = awesome. I will promote this card until rotation
really I would only run bonfire over magmaquake if you run chandra, that way you're not on suicide mission to your PW.
I was playing a staff of nin over mimic vat at first but staff was really underwhelming. sure the extra draw is nice but it didnt affect the game as much as vat.
working pretty well right now, might drop Druidic satchel to 1 since I almost never want to have another one and put in a Mindslaver. Satchel + trading post gives me so much advantage and discarding Kpheonix to post and bring it back is pretty sick. Another card I was thinking of was clock of omens so I can get more then 1 trading post/ druidic satchel trigger but i wouldn't know what to cut for it.
I think Clock should not be in there. You want to eat many artifacts, and if you need more activations, play another via Metamorph.
I like the list and may try it. I have U/W together and like a lot of it, so this might be what I want to change. In the boards though, I think there needs to be artifact destruction, maybe Vulshok Refugee. Swords are bad news, and having 4x Grudge and 1 Forest may be do-able
wild guess may be something I need to try as well, although it seems between ichors, simulacrums, posts, and my staff of nin that drawing is no issue. got an ichor? post it at the end of your opp turn to essencially draw 3 to start your turn. same with simulacrum, which loops just like perilous myr does.
I initially wanted to play because of that UW Post deck from SCG deck tech - I REALLY like the whole terminus + day to clear the board, I was going to try venser and stonehorn in it also but mono red is more appealing to me.
The sad news - my trading posts wont be in until saturday thanks to the crap that SCG gave me about having two different addresses so I doubt I will get to play this deck friday as my LGS is out of posts and I'm not going to bank on 4 people lending them.
edit: what keeps getting me back to looting though is flashback...
i think 5-7 depending on your meta is a good way to go. I prefer slagstorm/magma quake but here's how it works in my head:
Whipflare - 2 damage to non artifacts... cool might save your simulacrums that are gonna die to post anyway. Hit's 75% of the meta when it resolves. Cards important that it won't hit:
Slagstorm - can cast turn 3 which is important agaisnt aggro (get'er dungrove sucks by turn 3/4). Hits most of your creatures, can be directed at PW but you take a hit also. Double red isn't hard to deal with in a red deck. Can't hit
Magmaquake - hits all of the above and more BUT in order to hit everything whipflare does it can't be cast until t4, slagstorm t5 or anything higher t6... so it's a slower spell, BUT hit's the creatures you want dead. If your meta is 60%aggro or more I would do like
3 Whipflare
3 Slagstorm
1 Magmaquake
and side more...just my two cents.

That flashback is quite saucy and it fits the curve nicely as well if necessary. It's also a card you can always pitch and get later value out of.
Thank you guys for bringing up faithless looting for this deck. Drawing cards is something this deck needed, even with wellsprings. These cards let us keep up with ponder, and always let's us have a reliable way to ditch Phoenix or make sure trading post has a target (say, for zealous conscripts)
Phoenix though never disappointed. I'm running it and Wurmcoil in a 4/3 split for 7 bombs total. They're both just so good.
