Hi everyone, longtime lurker, wondering if this idea might work.
The idea is to cast Reforge the Soul, then a metalcrafted Molten Psyche for 14 damage to the face. To deliver the coup de grace you can blow up Shrine of Burning Rage or have Chandra in play the turn you go off, copy Molten Psyche, and hit them for 14 then 21 for a total of 35.
How do you do it? Cast Faithless Looting to get Reforge into the yard, Noxious Revival it to the top, cast it for miracle, draw Molten Psyche and any extra artifacts if needed to achieve metalcraft in your fresh 7 (hence the presence of Memnite and Darksteel Relic, because you need to have 0 drops in your fresh hand), play molten psyche, win.
Problem: It seems the soonest I can get this to go off goldfishing is turn 7 and I am fairly certain I would be dead by then. I think it needs to reliably go off on 5 OR be defensive enough that I can live until turn 7. Here's a couple lists I've been tooling around with: one is focused more on defense and the other on dig.
I think your best shot at getting this to work is going to be going U/R and using all of the additional benefits blue gives you for setting things up. It would have to play like a tempo/combo deck. I would also simply suggest using ponder to set things up on top more often then using Noxious Revival for the top...
1: I know the land count looks low, but the list is tight, and you have to accelerate into the combo as early as possible.
2: Tibalt seems great as an alternate wincon in this deck. Against aggro strategies if you whipflare enough he might just steal all of their creatures for a turn...or you can reforge the soul and pop his -4.
3: I'm not sure whether Chandra should stay in this list, though the instant-win seems good with her.
4: Memnite seems like he's a waste of space...but the artifact count is something that seems hard to keep up. Might want to change him out for Valut Skirge, even if it does cost life...also, Whipflare keeps either of our artifact guys alive.
