What's the correct number of him to run in a "stock list"? My only other creatures are 2x Grave Titan. I'm debating between 3x and 4x Snapcaster Mages.
Whatever fits. It's an awesome card, but only with stuff in your gy, and only after turn 3. Most lists I've seen run three, since you want to have it, preferably more than once most games, but you really don't want to see 2+ in your opening hand.
I run 3. Similar to the above post, you see it enough to where 3 is a great number, but you get at least one every game to get back a counter or more draw, if needed. I'd say 3 is solid.

Thanks. I think I'll stick with three. I've been having some good experiences with it against Geist decks where he just acts as a flash bear. Whatever works I guess.
It all depends on your build really. If your running something like only 2 dissipates and liliana instead of tribute, then you probably just want 2.
Keep in mid that snapcaster is actually not very good against the U/W decks with permission. Adding 2 extra to every spell you cast can be very bad against mana leak when you need to kill that aggresive creature.
Everything that has been said is really on point. Run 2-4 of them, the deciding factor being what none instant/sorc do you run. Personally I ran 4 and now I'm down to 3 since curse x2 is MB with a lily and 3 black suns. But when and if the curses can come out I'll probably go back to 4.
I really don't see a reason to run more than 3. It can be too dead of a card and lead to a blowout. Too many decks are siding in SE and spellbomb. Most people who side in nihil and SE (that can't get full value out of spellbomb) are doing a very sub-optimal strategy, but by you putting yourself in a situation where your rely more on snapcaster, then you're making their sideboard cards a lot better VS you.
when tweaking/personalizing a deck, i usually make a solid 65, and then shave 5, looking for what i want the deck to do. yes, snapcaster is a double spell... but most of the time, you just want a snapcaster to be a mana leak or a dissipate, or another removal. if you're already running a lot of removal, make your 4th snapcaster a counter. if you're running a lot of counters, make your 4th snapcaster a removal.
Bascially I'm babbling on, but what I'm trying to say, is when you run too many snapcaster in this style deck, snapcaster is rarely another spell in the graveyard, a lot of times, it's just a snapcaster, with the wrong spell in the graveyard. Snapcaster is an amazing card late in the game when your yard is stalked full of options and you have plenty of land to exploit that. if you're worried about drawing a snapcaster turns 1-5, then you're doing it wrong.
i would still really like to hear how people handle Solar Flare i have been surprise intercourse with that for a while now what is your gameplan and what do you sideboard in and out?

I kind of agree with you and to be fair I don't think it would hurt my deck if I scaled back to 3 snapcasters. But I love that card especially with the now 10 Counters I run main board. Although I guess the 'right' number of snapcasters depends on the amount of instants you run and your play style.

10 counters main board???? WOW... 4 leak 3 dissipate 3 negate or something? that just seems like a very high number. i'm not doubting it works out for you, but what does the rest of your main look like?

4 Leak, 4 Dissipate and 2 Negate with another Negate in the sideboard. Rest of the list is standard removal. Creatures are 4x Snapcaster and usually 3/4 fatties which are usually 1 grave, rest sphinx's. I've just preferred to build very permission heavy.

assuming 27 lands, 10 counters 8 creatures, the typical 2 curse of deaths hold and 3 BSZ, and 1-2 ratchet bomb 4 think twice, 3 alchemy and 1 USZ, that leaves 0 spots for spot removal. what are you cutting? are you only keeping 2 BSZ 1 ratchet and no USZ/alchemy? i don't usually run less than 3 tribute effects (either tribute itself or lilly), 2 doom blade effect (currently gftt), and 2 slip effects (currently slip.)
10 counts just seems like a lot... i was running 8 for a while, 4 leak 3 dissipate 1 negate... but i never likes to open with a lot of counters.
i guess for a list like that 4 snapcasters wouldn't be out of line, but it still seems excessive.

When I played BUG, I only ran 2, due to having green spells and creatures such as Garruk 3.0, Thrun, and Beast Within.
What I'm saying is if you play UB, run three. If you play any color in conjunction with UB, run two.
