Yeah, I ran over people at FNM last night (split 1st) with Huntmaster followed up by a few Hellriders. His value is incredible, and in an aggro/midrange build, he just does so much for you.
For the deck I've been toying with (apparently similar?), 4 is the top of the curve. Heavy green ramp into swords or Huntmasters/Hellriders. It's quick, it's brutal, and it's got burn for control. Sucks when your opponent has swords though. :/
I see this card increasing in value into the $20 range. It's doing good at SCG Open and apparently it's kicking butt at the PT as well. I knew this was gonna be the best card in the set and I'm glad I picked up my copies already.
See this card tries really hard to be the macdaddy of R/G Werewolf tribal and fails so hard, hes not really usefull in any other builds because his toolkit powers are limited by his mechanic which is best played in the two tone tribal deck he was intended for. He's a turn 4 that isnt doing you any good unless you pass up your turn 5 or happen to have a moonmist on hand on hand then instigator gang is vastly superior when transformed
It's a $5 mythic for a reason people its unplayable garbage

What are you talking about? Your analysis is based upon some sort of tribal only usage which no one thinks is a real deck. If you're packing Instigator Gangs in a constructed format at this point then I think that's the real problem.

Considering that Kibler just won the PT with Huntmaster x4, he's got to be trolling. Huntmaster appears to be the real deal. I'm happy that such a wacky, fun, complex, way-too-much-text card is going to be making waves in Standard for a while (it appears).

So, either:
A) This is a troll post, or
B) The poster didn't watch any Pro Tour: DKA coverage and didn't read any of the threads talking about it, and is going to feel very, very silly when they do. I mean, that's pretty bad timing when you create an account so you can post calling a card "unplayable garbage" a few hours AFTER said card was the breakthrough hit of the latest pro tour.

He's 25 bucks maybe 20 if on sale. He is really expensive for the fact that he is great outside of Werewolves. One major deck using him right now is Wolfrun. He hits the board with 4 power and toughness spread across 2 bodies and you gain 2 life. He doesn't stop being a pressure till he leaves the board. The opponent is always having to count the number of spells they are casting. If they draw a blank then boom he flips. If you pass turn with a burn spell in hand or just played a land for your wolfrun then he flips.
If an opponent casts two spells he flips back. No real downside. He is lifegain and token making. If you force an opponent to cast two spells in one turn then your still forcing their hand.
all in all his only weakness is that he dies to almost all of the main removal spells and a good many burn spells. He's no titan but he is amazing for a 4 drop.
his major weakness, that they mentioned on the broadcast was (and pardon me if this has already been mentioned) is if both players have one, the active player is going to lose his cause of the way the triggers work. Which, if i understand it correctly, means that the defending player better play a spell on their opponents turn or it's going to flip on theirs, and that person would lose theirs.

is that correct?
If one flips then both flip at the same time.......so no
If one flips then both flip at the same time.......so no
What you might not be taking into account is that only one trigger can resolve at a time, so the active player is going to lose his.
For example:
-I play one and pass the turn.
-My opponent plays one and passes the turn.
-I do nothing and pass the turn.
-During my opponent's upkeep both Huntmasters trigger, but my opponent's trigger goes on the stack because he is the active player with priority. My trigger goes on the stack above his and resolves first, flipping into a 4/4 and killing my opponent's Huntmaster. Then his trigger resolves and either deals two damage to my Huntmaster or another target if he chooses
Basically, if you both play Huntmasters and you skip a turn to flip them, your opponent has to play something on your end step or he loses his, barring any other intervention during the upkeep.

Think of this card as a Geist of St. Traft that made its impact a lot more quickly (Geist hovered around the 12-15$ mark for longer than 2 weeks).
Except Geist is good in older formats, and Huntmaster ... well, probably isn't, but I guess we'll see.
I don't see these ever getting down past 15 bucks while still in Standard. But I also think that's where they'll actually be for most of their stay in Standard. The current spike is just that ... a spike. It'll go down a dollar per week until it's 15 bucks again, starting a month from now. (Feel free to quote me on that.)

It's a great card for this metagame. As long as good decks are running Geist and Vapor Snag, getting 2 life and 2 2/2 bodies for 4 mana is a great deal. And reusable removal is always good. But, in a vacuum, it's certainly not overpowered.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
all thie happened in the span of 2 days not a week ha
This is more accurate. Sunday morning (6am Est) they were $13, cheapest I could locate.
The card is pretty good. I guess it would take some used to, just skipping a turn in order to transform, then time your instants to transform again. I haven't played much with flip cards I guess.
Regardless of the discussion of price (yes, that does increase his validity), he is a good card but really only pretty useful against Delver. Once WRR makes their comeback, humans will begin being tougher to deal with due to Thalia running around, and then Mirran Crusader is also bad for WRR. Yes, they have access to red removal, but there are all sorts of sick protection spells that they will probably end up using.
This is part of a cycle, and Huntmaster has been tried, and tested, and it is pretty good (against Delver), but is it going to be the star of every pro tour from now until the end of days? No, but it will stop aggro.
The night before the finals, he's hovering around 14'ish average. After the semis (around 4pm or 5pm PST), price just jumped to 22'ish++.
Well, he's not a must-answer or a must-remove card but the longer he stays in play (or the more times he flips in a game), the more value he gets. Well, at least that's how I felt whenever I play against them. He forces you to either kill him or just cast something.

Most of the time it is cast 2 somethings so you can shock him/etc. Decent card, hard for Delver to deal with, but other than that, weak against most other things. Not all, most.

The huntsmaster? $5 bucks? Where I'd buy 10. 4 for my playset and sell the rest.
