yes i was thinking also to try the Elite Inquisitor
Regarding my list of some post ago I am trying Garruk Relentless x2 in place of the Dismember, will see what it gives. Sometime I am missing the instant speed of dismember :s
Btw, after playtesting a lot of decks (rdw, ub graw-go, token, mbi ...) I am finally settled on G/W humans, competitive enough, fun and interesting to build, tune and play.

It's interesting how your matchup against the township tokens went almost identical to mine, and our lists are pretty different. There has to be something we can do to bring that win percentage up against them.
Yeah, him and another guy sitting by us were both kinda dismayed that he got taken out so efficiently. Second game he got a couple honors out and then a intangible virtue so his tokens wer too beefy for me.
I think I am content with how it is built for now and until I notice any changes. Has a lot of symmetry and the o-rings you can save for spells as the F.Hunter can take care of critters.
seems like all these builds settle at 22 land. Are you all finding that to be consistant? I have 24 now, but if 22 works I could always find room for more creatures.
How are Hero of bladehold and Mikaeus doing?
I keep trying to say that bladehold is more of a token deck card so I dont't use it, but it's probably my favorite white creature next to Elesh Norn, and she isn't that fast in a human deck.
Very similar to my list, with a few odd differentiations.
1. Probe but no nevermore? How do you survive doj?
2. Angelic destiny? Doesn't that get in the way of aggro?
3. Surgical extraction main... wtf...
4. Why is doomed traveler better than Elite Vangaurd ?
5. How good is abolisher vs. UB?
Personally I have found that I would rather have an accorder paladin than the abolisher in most games. I find that needing 2 white on turn two disrupts the flow. My preference has been to run 1 MD and have 2 in the sideboard for games against RDW and UB control varients. Most game I want to win by an early rush, and there are more aggressive 2 drops.

5. How good is abolisher vs. UB?
1. Against anything with DoJ I just held cards in my hand. I only saw it once, and next turn I dropped Hero for the win. Dismember will probably be swapped to the sideboard and I'll main Nevermore in it's place. The only game I got to use it in was against WRR. Called Garruk, he scooped. It was pretty amusing.
2. It's won me more than a few games. I just picked up another Thrun today and I'll be finding a spot for him soon.
3. Don't knock it, saved my ass more than once. It's a nice option to have, especially against mono red.
4. Doomed traveler gets me two chump/trade blocks, instead of one potential trade. He's there to pump my Champion and give me something to throw away until the rest of my creatures have a chance to settle in. Vanguard just never really pulled the weight I needed.
5. Abolisher wrecked UB. I usually played him turn 3, after a Champion of the Parish or Lawkeeper that I KNOW he's going to counter. The loss of the Champion is a small price against UB not being able to counter any of my spells on my turn anymore. The decks I've played don't run a lot of bounce, so it wasn't really an issue.
After today, I'm going to tweak a little more, probably get rid of the probes and find something else.
Why on earth do people run Accorder Paladin ? It dies to gutshot and geistflame, is not nearly the threat mayor is, is probably worse than hamlet captain...

I have no idea. I agree completely. That's also why I don't run Elite Vanguard. It dies just as easily and doesn't come back like Doomed Traveler does.

I am leaning towards dual Garruk Relentless as well. He just takes over games when he's out. I only run one in my deck but I am going to put a second in for sure.
Went 3-2 at FNM, can't remember the matchups but worst was Township Tokens and RDW was a fight but I won. Today at game day went 3-1-1 only loosing to Black Infect (who won the even 5-0) and tied U/B control.
I think I could have handily beat Black Infect but my deck decided to take a round off. I blitzed him game 1 and then got mana screwed in games 2 and 3. Both stuck me missing another of the land I needed, one game, no forests appeared and of course all green cards fill up my hand and then game 3 it was plains that took a vacation. As it was game 2 he still had to fight to get me out. The cards stuck in my hand, especially for game 2 was the nuts, ah well.
Round 1 vs. Janky Infect - 2-0
Round 2 vs. I'm not even sure, he never really lived long enough for me to find out. - 2-0
Round 3 vs. Black Infect - 1-2
Round 4 vs. U/B Control - 1-1-1
Round 5 vs. Tempered Steel - 2-1
Some highlights from the day
Garruk Relentless - need 2 of these I think, just so nice.
Mortar Pod - These were giving guys fits all day, combined with Doomed Travellers and even better the Deathtouch wolves Garruk makes is pure magic.
As for Elite Inquisitor and Grand Abolisher. I think I'll keep Abolisher in the side, Inquisitor is a solid card and if you can get a few Gavony counters on him he's a house. That being said the big challenge is that they're huge removal targets, as is Champion. But with 30 threats in the board, it's hard for most to keep up.
I'll post my deck later tonight or tomorrow AM when I get a chance. I've been tweaking for the past couple weeks and I am really pleased with it.
Grand Arbiter is sickening against anything that runs counterspells or instants that might be used on your turn.
It even slows Ratchet Bomb down a little. Against control decks it is the best VCA we have.
Doomed Traveler is absolutely superior to Elite Vanguard in this deck and in this environment. Matches are won and lost by 1-5 life all the time.
Stick a Sword on the token, watch that mfer chew ass.
How often are your swords seeing play? I took them out of my list completely because by the time I would want to play it on anything, I was either already on momentum and didn't need it or too far behind to want to spend the mana on it.
Also, I'm pretty sure that the RDW list that swept me twice today is almost identical to the list in your comment
hey guys just went 3-2 in yesterday's game day with my "Resistance" deck. Ended up 7th in the 20 man gameday.
1st Match up UB Control - Was too quick for him game one, game 2 he had decent answers but I was lucky to draw 2 o rings and cast my celestial purge on his batterskull, ratchet and wurmcoil. (2-0)
2nd Match up WUG Pod - Game 1 again too fast, game 2 he slowed me down long enough for elesh norm to come in and I conceded after trading O-rings and Fiend Hunters. It was sick actually, i o ringed his sun titan, then fiend huntered his elesh norm but he was able to break the o ring through an acidic slime then the sun titan brought in a phantasmal to copy my fiend hunter and then target it putting a sun titan, elesh and a phantasmal on the board in 1 turn. Game 3 he mulled to 5 and decided to keep it despite having no green source, so he couldnt cast till turn 4 and by then it was too late.
(2-0)
3rd match up - RDW,Game 1 was too fast for me, painfully got hit by arc trails, nobles and beserkers. Game 2, kept a rather good hand but my only mana source was 1 green 3 pilgrims, 4th turn a git hit by a damn blasphemous act and cudnt draw a land for 2 turns which by then was too late.
(2-1)
4th Match up - UB Control, I got paired up here sadly this guy was 2-0-1 and just won his last match. Game 1 stomped him mercilessly, Game 2 he poured in a lot of removals and after getting hit by 2 doom blades, 2 writhing flesh and seeing a blacksun resolve we went to game 3 where I mulled to 5 and then got screwed for having no green source.
5th Match up - RDW, 1st game I decided to be the control guy, limiting his bersekers to 1/1s and not letting much damage through until my guys grew to 5/5s by 4th turn. 2nd game he saw a gideon on 5th turn, nuff said. So now I celebrate with my foil elite inquisitor (thinking of sideboarding it)
Why on earth do people run Accorder Paladin ? It dies to gutshot and geistflame, is not nearly the threat mayor is, is probably worse than hamlet captain...
Because he is a potential 3rd lord, is a beast when he is being boosted by the other 2 lords, and draws removal that would hit the other lords.

i agree but then there's just no more slots i love to draw and look at hands (use to be a UB player) so gitaxian probe over accorder any day. accorder is for those who want a loooot of speed in the beat down BUT one black sun or removal and its over. gitaxian on the other hand gives u a draw even if ur play after the die roll. + i think it's invaluable to know whether we can over extend or not
I tested him a while ago and TBH I am thinking of putting him back in. A deceptively powerful card. At first glance he is trash but he can completely control games.
I am quite happy with my Garruk Relentless, for now a 2 of and I don't think I will put more because a 2 of in starting hand slows down too much. But I has a lot of advantage
- Handle phyrexian crusader
- can do overrun style even if it is difficult to flip him and go to 3 depending on the MU
- Can tutor

I think his triple green cost might be a bit much for the deck to handle. If you've got the copies, give him a try and give the results.
