It's more about me wanting to see some new manlands in standard, to be honest. It doesn't take much thought to decide if your deck needs Inkmoths or not, since there aren't any on-color man lands to replace it with (although Moorland Haunt gets an honorable mention here).
I agree with you. I'd like to see more man lands, though I doubt that we'll see the other half of the dual man lands anytime soon
weren't you the guy that was wanting everything banned in modern?
I mean jace although powerful didn't need to be banned until wotc didn't print good hate for PWs after alara rotated out.
I just wish they would be almost as afraid to ban cards in modern as they are standard. If banning cards on a whim can make modern suck standard wouldn't stand a chance.

vampire hexmage? I mean, that really didn't make a difference though. PW hate still didn't eliminate the possibility of sticking jace and winning.

vampires was mostly a dead deck in that format. Before that point decks could just run good cards that they would normally run and deal with jace. SFM was mostly the offender anyways. That no one can argue against. If jace was red or green he would not have been banned.
I just hope whatever card/deck that gains the stigma this year doesn't get banned. You can adjust to beat decks in standard because almost nothing is off of the walls broken.

I think someone is a bit confused here.
On topic: no, it will not get banned. The card is a staple, but not broken.

Red or Green with that kind of card advantage utility? Of COURSE he'd be banned, even if the FFL's inevitable swarm of Red burn/rush decks allowed him to be printed.

4.It's not expensive in the secondary market anymore.
I feel this needs special attention.
This is never, ever, ever a reason something is banned. Nothing has ever, ever been banned for price reasons (in a sanctioned format; EDH does NOT count) in the history of Magic. Moreover, unless the DCI changes their policies drastically, nothing ever will be.
Secondary market prices have zero influence on bannings.
Ever.
No matter what.
This is why Moat will not be banned in Legacy, why Tarmogoyf will not be banned in Modern (although people may have other arguments for his banning and this is not the thread for those) and why Liliana of the Veil was not (and will not be) banned in Standard.
I hope everyone will keep this in mind when discussing bannings in any format at all in the future.
Additionally, standard bannings are very, very uncommon. We probably have another five years before they print another Memory Jar, Skullclamp or Jace the Mind Sculptor. Until then, relax and enjoy the most diverse, healthy standard format that I have seen in all my years of play.
There's a reason that there's no sticky right now for Standard ban list discussion. Format's pretty healthy and no particular strategy or card is too dominating.
Yep. We've discussed this briefly and quickly decided we didn't need such a sticky. Because there is actually zero chance there will be any bannings. If one day the standard metagame turns into an unhealthy one with dominant/unfun decks, then we might reconsider. But for now...
