So this is my list for RDW post rotation. The main beater for the deck is obviously Stormblood Berserker and thus the name of the deck. However, with Curse of Stalked Prey, any one of the seemingly weak goblins can be a real threat if not properly dealt with. The curse also enable Volt Charge to act as a 'pump' spell. Goblin Grenade as a finisher.
So far,the only red card from Innistrad that caught my eye is Curse of Stalked Prey. I don't know about any other. If you think there's other cards that can fit this deck, Innistrad or SOM block, please tell me.
And obviously the sideboard would need reviews and suggestions from you veteran red mage out there. It's a very rough draft at the moment.
Hope that this will be a somewhat competitve deck. I'm relatively new to RDW, but I've played Big Red before, so any suggestions/constructive criticisms are greatly welcomed. Thanks!
p/s: I'm new here. If there's something wrong with the tag, please correct me.
Stromkirk Noble seems good as a 1-drop. I'm not too sure about Goblin Grenade in this kind of deck. I'd cut them to add another Shrine and maybe another Galvanic Blast or Curse.
First off, you're going to want 4 Shrine of Burning Rage. The card is a house, and the fact that it double dips from Volt Charge only increases how much we want it.
Second off, your one-drops are...well...I don't like them much. We've lost Goblin Guide, but that's no reason to not use other viable options. There are two in the set - Reckless Waif and Stromkirk Noble. The Noble synergizes better with the proliferate-subtheme we have going, while the Waif can be more explosive, but also opens you up to playing a 1 mana 1/1. I'm not sure which I'd rather have, and my list will likely run a mixture.
Likewise, I also like the idea of having 4 Curse of Stalked Prey. It helps amplify the counters that we have at very little cost. Hero of Oxid Ridge seems like it has a place in our maindeck as well, alongside Koth. (I don't like Koth as a 3-of here. Two seems better.)
Personally, I've been strongly considering running the Manic Vandals maindeck. If I don't miss my guess, just about every competitive deck will be running some variation on swords, shrines, pods, wurmcoils, etc. There WILL be targets in almost every single matchup - easily enough to warrant their presence maindeck. Even in the mirror, being able to kill a shrine is critical.

And yes, she'll help out with Bloodthirst, but you should be able to get in without her - if you aren't connecting with creatures, you have more issues than not connecting.
I don't necessarily disagree with adding Chandra. forking a Brimstone Volley for 10 damage seems really good for 3 mana. That said, while Chandra can fork powerful spells, I think that Koth is just a better designed walker. Koth goes ultimate on his second turn with a volt charge, and almost certainly wins the game on the spot.
Regarding burn spells, why are you running Galvanic Blast when you can't get metalcraft? Why Incinerate when there's no constructed playable regenerators except werewolves (which are only questionably viable). I'd rather run some more expensive burn spells over small ones that have little to no impact in-game. Lightning bolt was great as a 1-mana workhorse, but we don't absolutely need to have a 1-drop burn spell in the deck.

It looks like the way RDW might be played post-rotation will be like this:
T1: Noble.
T2: Swing with Noble, gets a +1/+1 counter. Cast Berserker as a 3/3.
T3: Volt Charge a blocker, proliferate. Beat in with a 3/3 and 4/4. You now have two 4/4's.
T4: Drop a Koth and beat in for 12.
not sure how i feel about the ghost quarters. and the reason i prefer fireslinger to arsonist is you will more consistently get a turn 2 Stormblood Berserker with BT. i am also a really big fan of furnace scamp. it may not have the synergy with the Curse of stalked prey, but playing him turn 1, then having him go off turn 2 is huge imo. especially now that we don't have GG. not to mention seeing 2 or 3 on the field is pretty intimidating.
having said that, the arsonist would have better late game potential, but we aren't trying to make it to late game, are we? for that same reason, i wanted to put in Curse of the Pierced Heart in place of CoSP, due to the seemingly more consistent damage. but the idea is to stack counters on stormblood. putting them on the pheonix isn't bad either.
anyway, i think that's what i will start playtesting with some proxies. thoughts?
Ok tested Noble and Spikeshot Elder on MWS and I have to say that......they are freaking awesome.Once my Noble got to 8/8 and my Elder was able to shoot for 5 once.
So here's how the deck looks like after their introduction:
But what happened was that most of the time, I feel like dropping more Noble/creatures or CoSP rather than Shrine. I don't remember dropping Shrine at all in fact. :D. Or is it just me that don't know how or when to play shrine properly. (Advise me on this)
Another thing is, should I increase my 1 drop to at least 12? And what do you think about the land count?
p/s: Sorry if I am being a little bit annoying with all my questions here.
Agreed, however I doubt we have the mana for it early game. Mid to late game it might be worth a shot.
I've had people use it on me on my Turn 3 at the end step to take out some of my manadorks or weaker creatures. It really is a pain, and you do have time for it.
About Frox: for nearly 10 years, Frox has been helping women look good and feel great in easy-fit, mix-and-match, and work-to-weekend with just a few pieces by helping them make the right choices when it comes to clothing and accessories.
I have to admit that while Brimstone Volley on its own is not that good, but taking into account the possibility to do extra 2 damage for 1 mana, it is strictly better than Incinerate. I have times where I finish the game with the volley where I use it after attacking and opponent block/kills my attackers. But I agree that it is easily replaceable, it's just that I don't know with what.
About the land: yeah, I might revert back to 23, dropping a shrine, but that would require more playtests. But I did get flooded once, drawing lands for 5/6 straight turns with only a 1/1 noble on the board.
i think tezzerets gambit could prove to be a great card for this deck. it was forgotten about in the old RDW because there just wasn't enough reason for it. it could be i replacement for brimstone mayhaps? something to think on. i just feel like we could use more proliferate in this deck. not much more, but some. this gives card advantage as well.
Fireslinger>lavamancer without fetches in my opinion (but I haven't had tons of time to test the differences and/or splits).
Hero and Brimstone Volley instead of Koth and Volt Charge because Timely Reinforcements still hurts and the GWx Token decks could be a threat. Without Koth, Volt Charge is a bit weaker as well, so it makes sense (to me at least).
Reckless Waif seems nice as SB option versus control. But mainboard?
I kinda think Draw-go will be the deck to beat in the upcomming meta, and besides against all the other decks which can play 1 drops (with the exception for Stromkirk Noble) She'll trade or kill as a 1/1 anyways.
If anything you could cut her for Grim lavamancer, if my prediction ends up being wrong.

Lavamancer needs cards in GY in order to work, and with so "little" instant i don't think he will be active until turn 3-5? He works better in a more controlling rdw aproach, where this is more, early pressure creatures and finish of/clear blockers burn.
You don't need to trigger Grim lavamancer every turn for him to be decent, and concidering how weak our creatures are I doubt we'll have too much issues with filling the grave. (though I prefer to test Reckless Waif // Merciless Predator for now)
In regards to your concern with the curve, my spells make up for the lack of 3cc cards - though I'll be most likely using that turn for board control with some extra creatures anyways

Wont reckless waif bounce back and forth and never really do 3 dmg? obviously it forces your opponent to cast their spells.
The noble is a definate 4 of however.
If waif forces them to play into Arc trail or maybe Stagstorm G2-3 then its doing its job
Hop onto MWS or make some proxies, she is quite decent. (odv better against control, then aggro but anything which bumps the control game IMO is worth taking)

She is a 3 drops, helps out bloodthirst, can double up Galvanic Blast, Incinerate and gotta love the synergy with Volt Charge.
I'd drop the 2 x Goblin Gernade for 2x Brimstone or Devil's Play which conviently play nice with Chandra as well

Currently, I'm leaning towards cutting Fireslinger out for the only reason that Arsonist is a lot better if we are up against an aggro deck.
What do you guys think?
I think Spikeshot Elder works very good with Curse + Proliferate on the Volts.
4 goblin fireslinger
4 furnace scamp
4 Stromkirk Noble
3 Stormblood Berserker
2 chandra's pheonix
4 volt charge
4 shrine of burning rage
4 incinerate
4 curse of stalked pray
3 Koth of the hammer
2 Brimstone volley
20 mountains
2 ghost quarters
4 arc trail
3 dismember
3 manic vandal
3 ratchet bomb
2 manabarbs
(havent put a ton of thought into the SB)

I would like to try this after rotation,10 1drop seems fine to me .
Brimstone Volley can be used to punish opponents for chump blocking and a nice answer against the inevitable Timely Reinforcements appearance midgame.
Volt Charge at the very least is the best replacement for Staggershock and it's ability to add 2 counters to Shrines.
Is Tezzeret's Gambit worth adding to the deck?
