I'm taking my deck to gameday tomorrow, couldn't go to FNM because I was getting my wisdom teeth out. I'll update this post with results and decklist tomorrow. *cmon top 8*

Game 1 (2-1)
I played some weird.. Proliferate, chimeric mass, Lux Cannon
Match 1: control deck. I actually lost the first match for drawing no shape anew and she kept lux cannoning my lands until finally she beat me down with 2, 2/2 chimeric masses lol.
Match 2: I got the perfect hand for this,2 mana leaks, shape anew, Darksteel axe, and 3 lands. she tried playing chimeric mass for 3 and i rejected it. Then turn 4 I draw a not of this world and shape anew into blightsteel. She stares at it and laughes and tries to lux cannon it. I laugh and say its indestructible and then she scoops.
Match 3: get a turn 5 shape anew and counter pretty much everything and that was game.
Game 2
Some G/B Infect deck (2-0)
Match 1: the guy was... kind of new to magic and never saw counter spells before I guess cause he didn't understand what mana leak or spell pierce did. or how to properly sacrifice a eldrazi spawn token... I had to coach him through most of the game but... I won in the end.
Match 2: same thing, won on turn 4
Game 3 (2-0)
U/B Control (surprisingly I won!)
Game 1: The guy was really awesome, sadly he had to mull down to 4 on the first game and... that pretty much did it, countered his jace, shape anewed, he brought out another Jace and tried to bounce it but then I played a not of this world and he scooped.
Game 2:
Sadly the same thing happens, he has to mull down to 5 cause he got no lands. He got out a Jace and started fate sealing me but finally I drew a trinket mage and then fetched the axe, played it and then shaped it (this was like turn 12) and again he tried to Jace it and I not of this world-ed it.
Game 4 (2-0)
U/B Tezzeret artifact control? (dunno if thats what its called)
Game 1:
He also had to mull down to 5 and I just sat there and shape anew-ed and hit with blightsteel cause he had nothing to do.
Game 2: I anticipated a memoricide side-in so I sided in 2 Luminarchs and that was the greatest plan I ever had lol got it out turn 2 and he didn't expect it, got 4 counters on it and BAM! hella tokens lol he only had 4 mana cause i kept tec edging his inkmoth's, in the end I beat him down with 5 angel tokens.
It was a very nice game day, won and pulled 2 Green sun's zenith, 1 black sun's, and 3 things that didnt really matter, but it felt good winning. I was happy that even when the last guy didn't have to mull my sideboard cards still were able to help. Any thoughts on the deck or you want more descriptions on a specific game just ask. (I remember the games pretty well to recollect what cards we played the whole game)
Amazing results today. Went 4-0 losing only game to land destro.
Mono U Architect -> 2-0
Game 1: Slow, won when BS hit field, he scooped.
Game 2: Again slow, Not of This World on Tumble Magnet's ability for win.
Kuldotha Red -> 2-0
Game 1: Dropped me to 2 life before BS led to victory
Game 2: Loooong game, he went with 3 lands for the longest B4 picking up the pace, first Shape Anew fizzled when Inkmoth Nexus was shattered, second one resolved FTW.
Game 1: Day'd the field three times from Elf swarm and Vengevines. Pinged him to death with Inkmoths. (lol)
Game 2: He sided in Acidic Slimes and nukes my lands. He played Eldrazi Monument for win.
Game 3: Day'd the field early enough not to get slimed and got out BS for victory.
Unfortunately I wasn't actually able to compete in gameday, showed up too late... The traffic was quite obnoxious, boros got first not surprisingly. Hero of Oxid Ridge is definitely something to worry about since most lists are only running WoO and Sea Gate Oracle until BSC. Any ideas to remedy that kryptonite?

I side in Perimeter Captains to go along with my WoO for heavy aggro decks. Works pretty well.
I'm happy to see how much the deck has progressed, as I love the concept, but I haven't seen anyone using Dread Statuary. Has there been any serious discussion on this? Granted, his activation cost is on the expensive side, but would it really hurt the manabase to throw 1, maybe even 2 of these in a deck as a plan C?
Anyway, loving the decklists, I'm thinking of trying to make a build myself.
so far in gold fishing this list is very consistent sure you don't have the counter spells for protection but you have the back up of possible swarm with the archtiects as well as sort of haste with the dopplegangers

plan C should not be getting the BSC out in my opinion. Plan C is more like, in my case, baneslayer beats.

I understand that the dread is expensive and inkmoth is way better.
All I'm trying to say is, from what I understand, it does not hurt to include it in the deck, considering it takes a land slot and serves as lategame combo piece 9 & 10 with shape anew. It also doesn't come into play tapped, so you can use it right away. The only bad thing about it is that it's a colorless source of mana, and this is the only reason I see it not being able to make the cut.
So yes, obviously you'd rather master's call or inkmoth for the combo, but unless throwing a copy or two of dread really hurts the manabase, I still don't see why no one plays it. I think you guys should consider throwing at least 1 in there.
A 'Plan C' sounds more like hardcasting Blightsteel Colossus, if the game lasts that long.
That's true, but it takes only 8 mana to dread/shape anew. That's still 3 turns faster than hardcasting the colossus.

Silence has been working really well for me as a 2 of in the main. It won't ever take away any gas from a smart KDW player, but it will slow them down just one turn, making your DoJ that much stronger. Playing Silence in response to their turn 1 artifact drop just makes them twiddle their thumbs while you try to pull more solutions to the impending army. It also gives you another chance to find spell pierce and other potential game winning answers. Also, Silence during their upkeep after BSC hits is wonderful against most! =P
KDW is definitely hard for us though. They have a turn 3 clock while we have a turn 4-5 clock at best. It's definitely winnable if you just make smart plays. That's one thing I really like about this deck. I feel we have a chance against most anything as long as we adapt to who we're playing against.
His +2 can blink Wall of Omens all day, creating a draw engine.
His -1 makes Blightsteel Colossus swing FTW regardless what wall of creatures your staring down.
His -8 may not be used as much, but it's decent back-up in case of long games.

Honestly, a more draw is exactly what this deck needs. I just don't know if Venser comes down quickly enough to be efficient. I was finding that I would just get overrun by quick aggro and have nothing to say until turn 4, although WoO definitely slowed things down some.
I dunno, venser is definitely a good addition to the deck, but what do you take out?
I dunno, venser is definitely a good addition to the deck, but what do you take out?
Depends on your build. In my list, I'm thinking of taking out the Blue Sun's Zeniths and place them in my sideboard.
Venser's -1 ability is too interesting to overlook. Making Blightsteel Colossus unblockable means game over if they can't remove it. Especially if facing down an opponent's own Blightsteel against the same deck.
I was gonna suggest the USZ in your list might be what to take out. How have your games been going lately? I've recently strayed away from shape anew because it just hasn't been getting me the wins I was hoping for...
I've found that it's pretty hard to get to turn 4 and safely drop the BSC against aggro, and that control decks have a ton of tricks against it. I was almost thinking about going black for the duress/IoKs and running trinket mages to get some bodies on the board, with sea gate oracles as your WoOs and then you're free to use GftTs and the like against aggro.
I live in a small town and the only tournaments I'm able to attend are the ones hosted by a local book store once a month. No store in my town hosts FNM.
Against control decks, waiting for them to tap out before using Shape Anew would work, but it could be several turns before they do. Having mana open for counterspells if the game goes past turn four is an option. Not of This World is phenomenal in this deck, it's the best way to protect Blightsteel Colossus.
This deck doesn't work at all for me, I put it together and played online. In 3 games all lasting over 6 rounds I never saw Shape Anew, which leaves me asking if a deck is viable in FNM if it never can provide win cons, even with preordaining.
Simply bad luck, my friend. I've had nights where I don't see a single shape anew, and other nights where I see it every match. But, if you run Jace 2.0 then it shouldn't be an issue. If you aren't, be prepared for disappointing games.
The deck is definitely FNM competitive, even in my area where the competition is really stiff. Just try it a bit more, you'll realize what hands to keep and what not to.

I've had mild success with this build but I'm unsure where it needs to go in order to get to it's next level. I've also got two possible sideboards which work rather well for the deck in general, and while I know UW should basically just run Caw-Blade/Caw-Go I can't help but want to live the dream of the One Shot Robot. Plus I kinda commissioned some sweet sweet art for a few Blightsteel Colossus (for EDH mostly) and I wouldn't mind shoving them on the table during National Qualifiers
Theres going to be 4 Qualifiers in my area so I'd like to try and run the list at least once :3
My list runs Leyline of Anticipation, which lets me Preordain/See Beyond/Shape Anew at the end of my opponent's turn to set up a draw or get the Colossus attacking on my turn. Just a thought.

How many Leylines are you running? Leylines are a bit hit or miss depending if you get one in your opening hand and how many are in your deck.
Leyline of Anticipation is nice if you get it out at the beginning of the game, but the others become dead draws mid-late game.

Game 1: He built a field of Wolf tokens, equpped Stoneforge Mystic, Mirran Crusader, and Blaneslayer Angel. Had BS out, topdecked Day of Judgment FTW.
Game 2: Down to 6 by early Student of Warfare. Stalled with Gideon Jura and Wall of Omens on Mimic Vat didn't help him after BS got out.
Elves, Splash Black -> 2-1
Game 1: Day'd the field three times from Elf swarm and Vengevines. Pinged him to death with Inkmoths. (lol)

EDIT: I didn't use my sideboard at all.
The problem isn't the guy having 4 power, his effect is what wins the game, sure, they'll take 2 life, and hit for all their creatures +1 power each.
I side in Perimeter Captains to go along with my WoO for heavy aggro decks. Works pretty well.

plan C should not be getting the BSC out in my opinion. Plan C is more like, in my case, baneslayer beats.
Dread Sanctuary is severely outclassed by Inkmoth Nexus.
Inkmoth can pay its activation itself.
Inkmoth activation is cheaper.
Inkmoth is a 1/1 flier with infect.
I actually won a game by pinging an opponent to death with them.
A 'Plan C' sounds more like hardcasting Blightsteel Colossus, if the game lasts that long.

That's true, but it takes only 8 mana to dread/shape anew. That's still 3 turns faster than hardcasting the colossus.
4 Inkmoth Nexus is plenty enough manlands for Shape Anew. If it's late game, instead of dumping mana to activate a Dread Statuary, I would rather have mana open for a Mana Leak.
Reality Spasm - Meh, use Day of Judgment to kill them. Tapping down lands sounds interesting though...
Silence - Possible maindeck. Maybe sideboard against fast aggro, like Kuldotha Red.
KDW is definitely hard for us though. They have a turn 3 clock while we have a turn 4-5 clock at best. It's definitely winnable if you just make smart plays. For aggro, there's always a well timed Day of Judgment. Silence and Condemn can really slow them down..
Using black has its benefits. Discard spells are always useful. Kill spells for the aggro.

Also, anybody else have any comments/suggestions on my previous Venser idea?
