I decided to make a budget deck that would be competitive based off the Lolaphant concept seen here and I was test playing it with my friends against my other BR Aggro Control deck made of commons/uncommons. Anyways, I felt that I need to find a way to have field control as well while I wait for Mass Polymorph (MP) gets casted. My question is should I used Mountains for Lightning Bolt + Pyroclasm or should I remove Mountains and play strictly BG and use Mind Control + Volition Reins. I think that would bring an interesting dynamic as with all the ramp, I usually have 4-5 mana easily for this to be casted.
Here is my proposed decks with both of the combos:
I'm not so sure, I'd bet with green's ramping and blue's card selection this list can reliably find the mountain it needs. Have you tested the UGr list OP?

Yes, I have. I really have no problem with mana as the cheaper fetch lands + Growth Spasms can get me that mountain if I do not already have it in my hand. If I do, Explore would help with that. I actually changed my deck to give myself a 2nd win condition which is using Genesis Waves to bring out the baddies as well. It has yet to work for me but I do think that it's a lot better than just relying on Mass Polymorphs. Again, this is a fun deck for starters with my friends.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Interesting idea. I would think hitting 5 0/1 tokens would be a chore especially round 2. Black Sun's Zenith destroys this combo.
Also, I don't like the idea of drawing the critters without a way to put them back in my library. Hard-casting them is a possibility, however the deck would need a lot more control. As a cursory glance the deck looks like a subpar ramp control deck with a possible combo wincon. I would think the splinter/deceiver combo would be better in most ways.
Urabrask, the Hidden + 2 Blightseel Colossus is easier to morph into than 3 Massacre Wurm + Terastodon.
Definitely would be a more interesting idea and a more deadly combo. Technically if I Mass Polymorph 3, I would be risking a close GG. With this, it would be a closer GG and would free up another card in library. Now I got an idea of an upgrade. Best part is also I can hard summon these creatures as well if needed which is also an added benefit as an alternate win strategy/desperation.
The only reason why I don't like that strategy is that so far, my friends play a lot of monsters that would die with one Mass Polymorph and having a Massacre Wurm. I did this once as a way for field control + damage since they had 4-5 creatures out. But either way, I like the idea and something to consider.

It's a sorcery spell and usually when this combo works, it would remove extra mana that they may have due to Terastadon as I would trigger that first so that the opponent takes more damage with 2-3 Massacre Wurms out there. That's what I am trying to do. For example, my friend ate 42 damage yesterday due to this combo + his four monsters.
You are mistaken on that as well. See Beyond would put the creatures back in my deck.

I hope, for JOR sake, that you're KADEEN about this! JK is legendary, so that wouldn't work.
