Ok,I have tryed it with norn's annex.I had People Burning up there life.Yes It sounds good,I thought it would be But if they see the soul conduit come in,They Know,Or if they play me once.It dosent work......Trust me.Ok,I will try to build a 3 color version and test it.
Well that's what's cool about it, if they burn their life low then just kill them. It's basically putting them between a rock and a hard place!
For the deck list listed above, how come 4 Gitaxian Probe and 2 Preordain?
Hand knowledge really doesn't seem that good, while the Preordains can help smooth out your draws better. Like, setting up your combo pieces, your lands, or riding lands you don't need to draw.
Other than that, I'm always a fan of any deck using dragons as their finishers.
EDIT:
Nevermind, I saw that Gitaxian Probe has Phyrexian Mana. My bad.
Edit:noPreordain x4 is good.I thought about doing 3x and 3x,But wasent Sure,What do u think?
Oh I see, lol.
Nah, you already got the 4 Dragons and 2 of the other Probes, so you'll be losing a lot of life to begin with anyway. And that's assuming your opponent doesn't do attack/burn you.
Ok U know i dont go and hate on your decks.Dont knock it intill u try it.If all your going to do is Hate Dont post,Simple as that.Thank You for your comment But please Stop posting Hate.Give it a chance!Rogues Win too!!!!
This version can finish out the opponent in several ways and is not all-in on soul-dragon combo. Both pieces are tutorable.
Notes:
1) No red sources?! If you life is so low that you can not pay phyrexian cost then you should probably go ahead and switch your life totals and finish them with an attack or masticore activation. I dont think lightning bolt is necessary. If you sink your life total into the dragon, switch and then attack with a x/4 flying dragon that should be enough.
2) Poison is not switched with the life totals. This means you if you can get a single inkmoth hit in then you can try to proliferate them to death while perserving your potential future life total. This way we can go aggro without ruining the combo later in the game.
3) Why grand architect instead of moxes and palladium myrs? Grand Architect accells way faster than those options due to his "haste" and gives the treasure mages additional value after they tutor a combo piece.
4) JTMS would be great in here but I am not sure if this is supposed to be a budget deck. It seems that way.
After My test's I like the current one i have very Much.I really dont want to go another Direction with it,But thank you for your Post,And the deck u posted looks good. But i could still use some Advice with what im building.
The deck looks good, but since you appear to want to center it around flying beasts/ dragons, I would add Sarkhan the Mad, or go for more black-oriented deck and run Abyssal Persecutor.
I think fitting it into an Architect shell is going to be the way to go with it, however. But I think we can get away with just the 8-12 blue creatures, including Spined Thopter, Grand Architect itself, and Treasure Mage. Spined Thopter works towards our goal because it's a 2/1 flyer that hits on turn 2, swings for 3 on turn 3 with an Architect out (and doesn't die to a chumping Hawk, woo!), and taps for 2 colorless when we want it to. Its an aggro threat and a combo piece at the same time, which is perfect. Also allows for a turn 3 Moltensteel Dragon, at the small cost of 6 life.....
Mox Opal accelerates even more, and metalcraft doesn't strike me as too hard to achieve in this deck. I think putting in the Conduit as a 1x is probably fine - I think the general idea should be to smash face and win as normal, with a random "oops I win" as soon as you tutor/play Conduit with a Dragon out in play. Honestly, its a much better card to search for than Mindslaver - same absurd mana requirements, but pulls the win out of nowhere as soon as you get it off.
I'd also run Wurmcoil Engine, because its still a spectacular win condition, and if you have Soul Conduit & Moltensteel Dragon, obviously it becomes a non-issue.
- 4 Moltensteel Dragon is too much. You only ever want to draw one. Add more tutors and card selection (the fourth treasure mage and jace)
- When are you ever going to tutor steel hellkite? You will need to get the combo or wurmcoil most of the time.
- I do not think you need 3 colours. This combo deck is tier 3 or 4. It can not afford to get the occasional loss due to colour screw or inconsistancy. Try keeping it to 2 colours or even one colour (see my list above).
- Paladium myr is strickly worse than Grand Architect. There is nothing in your deck that you can accelerate into that is not an artifact. On turn 2, keep mana leak open. Turn 3 play GA and tap to play everflowing chalice. You can not due that with palladium myr.
- I dont get spellskite in this deck. Protect the combo? That is why you are running gitaxian probe right?
I- Your deck as it is can not support mox opal effectively. Only 12 artifacts that cost 3 or less. CMC=1, no artifacts, CMC=2, spellskite and chalice (7), CMC=3, palladium myr (3). This means mox opal is active on turn 3 at best and accelerates you on turn 4 into 7 mana...nothing in your deck costs 7. This spot could be better utilized maybe sphere of suns or the 4th chalice.
will proxy up your exact list but these are my initial thoughts before testing. This could be a fun FNM level deck with a little bit of elbow grease.
-Moltensteel Dragon at 4 is good,They drop like flies,Maybe bring them down to 3.And add the 4 Mage.
-Grand Architect,Im not sure about,I know its a good card but i really dont want to use him in this deck.Paladium myr Normally never gets targeted,While Grand A. normally gets removed or Destoryed. But idk yet.
-spellskite or gitaxian probe...or a mix,Idk yet.
-Moxes are great,You are right in a way,But i really want to Utilize them,I love them.
-sphere of the sun i like but idk if i want to fit it in here.
-Im thinking about running 1 wurmcoil and 1 hellkite.Hellkite always saves me.
Thank You for your help so far,I hope u will post again.I dont think i missed anything.I will post my new version If i get another post!Thank You everyone!!!
You have the mox in there already, I think three colors would be easy with that many duals! Keep the red for bolts =) something else that would be sweet to consider as a one or two-of is norn's annex to stall until you getchur combo out.
If so, try using Sphere of the Suns instead of palladium.
Add some Tumbler magnet for some turn 3 drops and control
Hey gumONshoe,I looked back,But i didnt see your post in here?Did u post it somewhere else?I like the deck u posted and i think it would be great,But i like the path im taking with my deck.I have proxied what i dont have and it plays great. But thank you for your post,And i think the deck u posted Looks great.Thank you.
Ok this is the new Version of the deck. And i have to say....You all where right,I have to learn to listen..Grand Architect is beast..Sorry I didnt listen sooner. So tell me what you think,Thank You everyone!
I decided to go back to Red/Blue,I works better.I use Gitaxian Probe to see if theres anything to stop the combo.Tumble Magnet To control The field and stop any blocks for my Heavy Hitters.
Sideboard might need some work so please comment on that too,Thank you
1) Blasts agro out of the water.
2) Generally takes out planeswalkers with burn.
3) Stabilizes a game with lifelink.
4) Tutors for the combo pieces using Treasure Mage
5) Other plan in case main plan fails, mainly that you bash their face in with your other creatures...
I found the deck didn't run well when committed to Soul Conduit. I know you don't mind losing life to agro, but the issue is that you can't generally stay alive long enough to drop and activate the conduit.
There's room to change this I'm sure, but I'm not convinced that the "suicide" path is the best path. I prefer a more controlled variant with some ability to dig or change paths.
I looked at some of your previous posts, you haven't been ignored as you say you have been. To quote a previous reply to your decklist,
gumOnShoe, I think you have missed the point of the deck. It is a suicide deck style where you use your life points to play cards cheaply and then reverse that situation with Soul Conduit. The deck has inbuilt protects to keep the combo intact long enough to activate it.
The whole point of the deck and the whole entire combo is Soul Conduit. If you're trying to do something else (and it seems just weird), you are just missing the point, and it isn't trying to do the same thing as this deck at all.
If you want to play a Grand Architect deck and abandon Soul Conduit, then there are many better options than the path you are going in right now. I feel like you need to pick one extreme or another, instead of trying to be wishy washy at trying to do both.
I like your build.I have been testing it and its really good.I was warpping my mind around your last deck idea, and i started build a version of my own.I will be posting a new deck soon. After test conduit is nice but I think i found something meaner.Thank you for you posts.
Well that's what's cool about it, if they burn their life low then just kill them. It's basically putting them between a rock and a hard place!
My Trades Thread!
