Anybody have any notes on how to take down RUG? The only thing I can think of is board in Kor Firewalker and slap a Sword of Body and Mind on it.
Any list of necessary SB cards needed to take it down? I went 6-1-1 in a tournament this past weekend, RUG being my only loss, and it was to a land flood, unfortunately. I did beat this same deck in the swiss round, though, so it might have just been bad luck on my part.
What do traditional RUG lists even look like nowadays? I haven't really seen one since before Besieged, and even then they were a real hassle. Sounds like you pretty much answered your own question, though.

The list that I played against was still running Thrun, the Last Troll and Frost Titan, so it didn't look a lot like the lists at GP Dallas, which were the lists I was questioning.
Just popped over to check out one of the lists at GP Dallas and I have to say...I'm glad I don't see this in my meta.
I'm not really sure how we're supposed to answer a lot of that stuff; obviously, we have to move quickly, but Inferno Titan pretty much seems like the end of the day unless we've got Firewalker ready to go. Tumble Magnet/Journey seems key. But I don't want to just state the obvious here.

Inferno Titans, Pyroclasms SB. Lotus Cobra. Sometimes Frost & Primeval Titans. LB's. Lots of preordains, Raging Ravines (which honestly are the biggest PITA of all).
Their entire plan is to t4 titan, win off of that. Disrupt, hold a journey (you're playing journeys right?), keep bashing, win?
I don't have much problem against RUG though. Hm.

RUG is easy for me. Take care of Lotus Cobra, bash face, prepare to take care of Titans (3 MD Tumble Magnets for me, just laughs at them), and remember that they really, really hate KFW with SoBaM. It's a very simple approach, and they will often lose to their own major inconsistencies.
Keep a bolt/Journey for the cobra and apply early pressure.
Mark of Munity for Inferno Titan can be useful if you run it.

#1 - Do not let RUG untap with a cobra.
#2 - Do not let RUG untap with a cobra.
#3 - Tumble Magnet/JtN/MoM for titan(s).
Other than that, unless they draw the nuts, it's a favorable matchup on t5.

@SovietPanda: I'm confused as to what you're referencing. Their counter/blue package is what I'm guessing.
@tadiou: My list keeps changing, of course, so I'm down to only 1 Journey to Nowhere MD, with none in the sideboard. My MD removal package consists of:

I think anything less than 4 Bolts is just wrong. I often play with a single Burst Lightning to act as a 5th Bolt because there are just so many creatures that need instant answering, and the burn provides a lot of reach against a deck like Valakut. Instant speed answering to an equip also gives such a tempo swing. I personally hate Arc Trail MD. I often find it's not a 241. I suppose that depends on your meta, though. If you're seeing a lot of Boros, Vamps, Elves, etc then go ahead, but if you're seeing Valakut, RUG, UB, UW, and a few scattered aggro decks, then meh. I personally dislike it against Caw Blade as well. Bolt to an equip and TM to tap down otherwise is better, and opens up room to play better cards against them.
Arc Trail isn't an MB must by any stretch of imagination, but in the 75? Absolutely. There's no getting past it. It blows up 60% of playable creatures in the format. I like it vs caw-go, mostly because if they drop two hawks on their turn (which is rather common late game to defend if gideon isn't on the board), you eat the hawks, enjoy a jace feast.
But, the more I see hero of bladehold (which is seeing some tech in U/W...) the more I want burst lightning. Valakut too. Worst case? GG + Burst Lightning gives you plenty of reach on titans or sparkmage + BL = just enough.
RUG though... Our best weapon? Mark of Mutiny. Still. You can pretty much tell the turn before they drop a titan, RUG isn't hard to watch set up. You get a feel for it. Holding a MoM or JtN is absolutely necessary in your starting 7 though. Explore hurts, but not as much as Cobra. Beat the cobra. Beat the cobra. Beat the cobra.

@Pope: There have been times where an early Arc Trail has just wrecked an opponent, hence the lowered bolt count and upped Arc Trail count.
@GodGers: Bolt is a necessity, that's for certain. I've just come across a few times where playing with bolt smarter has done better for me rather than just having more of them. Not saying that having a higher chance for a bolt isn't as smart, it's just that having that backbreaking bolt when it's really really necessary is a little better than throwing bolts willy nilly.
@tadiou: Beat the cobra is an amazing mantra.... Just sayin'.
