Now, here's something: Livewire Lash. Despite initial promise, the card has been absolutely dead in all my testing, and I ended up just taking it out. Yet most people seem to still rate it highly. Am I missing something here? Usually, it sits on an empty board, or the creature dies in response to equip.
So my assumptions were correct... Glad I didnt waste my time testing it lol
At that point wouldn't it be better to run the Strata Scythe? At least it makes your dudes huge especially if they match the color you imprinted. Even more mana to equip, though so that sucks.
@Seth: I love your build but, I'm rather scared... It looks like it would lack creatures and would be to heavy on spells, another thought is 3 ichor seems strange. Sideboards I'm still realitively ignoring tbh.... But- 22 lands is a nice land count and 3 tar pits seems good as well, Just like I said thought, at 16 creatures Im skeptical... Though I'll be completely honest your build looks like the first viable build with a form of removal in MB... your also utalizing livewire and sleep in MB- hmmm... I do wish to know more
Then more you shall recieve. The creature count hasn't been a burden at all, but less creatures is the price you pay for more control. I chose three rats over four, for two reasons. One is that I have the habit of using Tainted Strike as a defense when I am at a low life total. Getting a few poison counters here and there is fine, but I'm not fond of rocketing myself so close. The second is because I wanted to run two Skith's instead of one. The SB is not geared towards any meta at the moment, just cards I felt could transform the deck for certain situations. The land count has been good, very rarely do I get mana screwred or need to mulligan. Any questions?

As others have tested this and come to the conclusion: Livewire Lash.... is it really worth it? I personally havent tested it much because I believe it would be a dead card 99% of the time. How has it faired for you?
Also- as far as my build goes (its more aggro than control oddly enough) I havent run into the problem of being forced to play defensively. Instead if anything my opponent is imidiantly forced to play defense or lose. So if your stuck with the problem of having to play defense alot you may want to try another build but, I'm not sure.
Hope you're not bankin' on that combo. Do you know how often that's not going to happen? It cost 4 mana to put 4 counters on them, but requires minimum turn 5. Turn 5, hand of the Praetors is much better when you play another infect that turn.
So I'm thinking of taking this list to states..testings been good so far especially though removal hurts it pretty bad. Its wicked fast though, looking for MD and SD advice.

Livewire lash has become THE best noncreature card the deck has to offer. I most often play it on turn two if I have a creatureless starting hand, which frees up a card so I can start playing removal. The deck's become rather infamous for putting the Lash on Plague Stinger, then using the Distortion Strike + Virulent Swipe combo. That's four counters, plus swinging with a 6/1 flyer. And if for whatever reason you decide notm to swing with the 6/1, when rebound comes around, they get another four poison counters.

I've only played defensively against one deck, my own T2 Artifact Control deck. Otherwise I can Mana Leak, and Doom Blade my way out of tight spots and then my opponent fights to block every little thing. One thing I've noticed that unnerves people, is swinging into a losing fight. VS'ing a rat and attacking into a 5/5 intentionally. I lose the rat, the 5/1 is now a 1/1. Corpse Cur needs targets, so why not?
With 20 artifacts in the deck, there will be plenty of Throne of Geth targets. This deck can end the game by saccing artifacts, or by playing a rebound spell on a Livewire Lash - equipped creature. It usually doesn't need to attack more than twice throughout the game.
It usually doesn't need to attack more than twice throughout the game.
Because usually, it just won't period. People are overestimating the power of the Lash... I just got out of two tournaments in two days (Monday Tuesday) with constructed Standard sets. (Build whatever as long as it's in-Standard.) Any single person who played Livewire Lash lost, because their deck wasn't powerful without it, and it never stayed in play long enough for it to become useful. There were 42 people at this thing, and nearly half of them with Lashes.
I would consider this very high amount of testing, seeing as how most of those guys were using Infect + Lash, and they all lost horribly. We can't use lash--it's way too slow, even for mid-range.
On the bright side, an Infect aggro deck did win the top prize! I only placed 13th, and didn't even play the winner at all, so I don't know what he really had... I also played infect, because I love poison, and let me tell you... Sleep is a godsend in this type of deck. Oust the Lashes, in with Sleeps.
Yes. Sleep. If you're playing B/U Infect and you DON'T have Sleep, be you aggro or midrange, you're seriously missing out on a crucial fourth or fifth-turn win. Pretty much the ONLY reason why I don't have a full complement in my maindeck is because I'm expecting more control than aggro at States. On the other hand, during testing, there was all but one time when Sleep didn't win me the game outright, and that was more because I kept a crap hand.

I disagree that lash is too slow. And my deck does not rely on it nearly as much as on Throne of Geth.
I am also beginning to think Throne of Geth and Sleep are staples in either one. Both of which are not in my aggro version right now. My question is, how many of each do we run w/o losing too much infect pressure? I'm thinking 2 of each.
Sleep I would add a total of 3... 4 is just too much and you will get one when you can't use it, or don't need it. Throne I would add just 2, because there aren't very many artifacts in the deck to begin with.

My build has 7 artifact creatures (4 ichorclaw myr, 3 Necropede) are 4 artifacts (Flight Spellbomb) I maybe i could run a few more Throne of Geths
This is what I've been running recently and i must say I'm super impressed with Vector Asp and Darksteel Axe. I tried Sleep before but wasn't too thrilled but might try it again along with Livewire Lash. But the lash is one more to cast than the axe, not indestructable either, and the axe seems to fit better if you're wanting to go aggro as well.
Also i've found 23 land seems to be the right amount over 22. And the creature i'm least impressed with is Hand. Almost would rather him be Corpse Cur he usually comes out against the RDW match up which is probably the worst MU for this deck. Has anyone else been underwhelmed with hand (Aggro Variant)?
Well i was just wanting to share my decklist and I'll try to test Sleep and Lash some more, but this is the list I've had the most luck with.
