The meta has been what you would see in most game stores. We have been traveling a lot for tournaments so we've seen it all. The one ofs are generally cast again from the graveyard via GDD. The SB contains another path, languish and radiant flames.
things really haven't gone smoothly for me. this weekend I was surprised by 4c rites and the SB reality smashers in particular. I feel like I've forked my way into a one kind of an optimal build, and the deck even feels good, but still I keep on getting losses. right now I'm just accepting that GW tokens and any eldrazi-deck are almost unbeatable for me. not sure what to make out of all this. I will keep on fighting because the deck feels good, but I'm unlikely to get disappointed by anything anymore.
I finally jumped ship on the dragons plan after a dismal weekend of games. My teammate is killing the competition with jund so I won't be leaving it behind. My main problem was the variance caused by having a higher mana curve which led to me not doing anything often enough in the early turns. My current package has a lot of options early game which is crucial in this format.

I think to consistently beat rites you MUST have at least 2x Languish/Radiant Flames MB. It helps to play Dark Petition as it can tutor Languish or Chandra as needed.
As for Reality Smasher, it simply is a brutal card that is very difficult to handle. Sinister Concoction is awesome against it as it can respond at instant speed and doesn't trigger it's discard clause (although, of course, it has it's own built in discard clause). You probably will need to take some damage and then Ruinous Path it the next turn. In either case, Infinite Obliteration HOSES 4c Rites, and, after naming Cutthoat or Husk with it in G2, you can check to see if they boarded in Smashers, which you then obviously target with you DP/GDD recursion of it.
The deck feels very good to me. If anything, I think Seth Manfield's success with 4x Languish MB is the path forward for Jund in the current build. 2x Languish and 2x Chandra is pretty close to 4x Languish to me (my MB) so I think we are all on the right path.

How good any card is dependent on the exact build you play. I don't think 4c rites is problematic besides the SB smashers, now that I know how the deck operates. Radiant Flames is also very good, it nukes every threat besides the smashers and leaves your Kalitas alive.
GW and BW are still gaining momentum and this archetype struggles horribly against secure the wastes (+ ormendahl). Atarka is powerful, but not powerful enough. It can be powerful in any MU, but it's not enough to swing any grindy MU in your favor. against faster decks it is only detrimental to your game plan
my solution is to get even more low to the ground and aggressive. there are win% points to be gained against company decks and humans, and being aggressive is the only proper way to weaken the secure the wastes decks; forcing them to use their instant to protect their life total.
Arlinn Kord is very well suited for this game plan, since it's a CA engine and a way to control the board against small aggro decks, while presenting a huge clock with the +1 abilities - especially the trample-pump is relevant when playing against secure.
Duress in the MD is a must, and works very well with GDD.
I'm taking a break from Jund right now, but I have to agree: mainboard Duress is where you want to be. Also, don't quickly dismiss Tireless Tracker without trying it out first. It's true that the stats on paper aren't the greatest, but if left unchecked, it can really carry the game.
I've been on such a mixed bag with Arlinn: she can really push some hurt with Den Protector or Sin Prodder, but my favorite use is powering up a Hissing Quagmire. She really forces you to learn how to sequence her abilities to the best use possible, and like many people, I wish her +1s were flipped... but we take what we get.
Atarka has this problem where you cannot hit players with its ETB, but I have been immensely satisfied with Dragonlord Kolaghan. Useful against Rites, CoCo or Humans, even if she just sits there it limits their plays so much. Would be really jank if we had some sort of mill to go with it, haha. When I return to Jund, I'm moving from 1 to 2 MD.

Thanks man! Yeah, you bring up a great point! I think 2 Read the bones could definitely find their way into my specific list per the following changes: -1 Kalitas (move to SB) & -1 Tireless Tracker. It appears that there will be times when Tracker shines more brightly than RtB and vice versa, such as in my games vs Naya especially.
Throughout the tournament though, the list was commended for being able to generate so much value through the various recursion cards.

Don't get me wrong though, I have really liked Atarka when I've got to resolve her, which isn't particularly hard even. still, the meta is in such a weird spot I don't think Atarka is a card you want to be playing - it's not enough to swing games on her own, especially against the slower decks, and despite having a big impact upon entering the play, a 7-drop isn't what you want to be doing against fast decks either. drawing a atarka is naturally rough, and you have to facilitate playing a 7-drop a bit too. It's close but I'm moving away for now. Kolaghan is one of my favourite cards, but I find it hard to justify these threats that can just eat common removal... Kolaghan can be crippling, but he isn't able to stabilize a board like Chandra can.
same thing kind of applies to tracker. I did play with her, but she fails to check any relevant boxes for me. she doesn't defend well and she doesn't attack well either.

Awesome. I like your list a ton, and I may try it out for FNM this week. Props for beating the B/W matchup because as mentioned before, it's really tough for Jund.
Let me know how it goes! In the BW match, my line of play was to be as aggressive as possible, hence the 4 deathcap. Key points included Mindwrack threatening their Planeswalkers and GDD flashing back traverse to find another GDD until I had a valid ruinous path target. I plan on adding 2 clip wings in the side.

I agree on pretty much everything here. I use to ran both the DLs but I ended up cutting Atarka when I was looking to bring my curve down. I like Atarka's ETB but getting in for that extra 1 with a haste/flying kolaghan to hit a planeswalker was pretty good. However, drawing a kolaghan against an aggro board you haven't stabilized against was frustrating and made me cut her for a 3rd Chandra.
As for tireless tracker, the clues that piled up were good but she ate removal, traded poorly, wasn't a great draw in the late game, and I didn't pop the clues until like 3-4 turns after I had played her because other plays had to be made. It felt like I was paying 3 in order to pay 2 to draw a card later. It feels like it would be great to get her big with all the clue popping and i'm jealous that some of you guys are able to achieve that!
Right now, my meta is split between some form of those Xcolored rites decks (i hate reflector mage) and control. Company (thank god because I hate reflector mage) and Tokens are pretty much non-existent here. Because of my meta, i'm not sure if I should be going a more aggressive route similar to the last couple of lists posted above or staying closer to the tutor/toolbox-y feel that I have now. I like the idea of 4x mindwrack and picking things out of the yard with GDD/DP/Kcommand. Has anyone tried aingleton Seasons MB? My only problem with this is that i'm overrun with those rites decks and I feel like dropping kalitas on T4 is the most important thing that I want to do besides a sweeper.
People keep talking about sequencing Arlinn correctly. Does anyone have any gouge to share about this? Any scenarios that stick out to you?

In my own experience, she's not the type of walker that can take over a game on her own in the way that Gideon can, and the fact you have to plan ahead your plus abilities is really the biggest deal: the + numbers aren't really the focus, but rather, do you want your big guys to trample, or do you want your next player to be hasted/vigilance? To me, Arlinn does her best not at T4, but at T5 or T6+, where she can support what you have on the board as opposed to making a board by herself. She pairs well with the creatures Jund plays, so that's another plus.

mostly it's just that you want to use her dayside +1 more often than you might think. the nightside +1 can generate lethal boards quite often too.
after the changes I did the deck feels a lot better, I must say. it feels competitive again, even.
So after much playing and testing, the truth of the situation were in hit me pretty hard...white has better removal. Wanting to go a control route basically showed me that pretty well when Indestructible creatures basically screwed me, like Ulamog and Ormendahl, when white has Declaration in Stone, Anguished Unmaking, and Reflector mage, most of my removal cant hit creatures with toughness 5 or above, so I get screwed over in eldrazi match ups, and again, white has near indiscriminate answers. And lastly, we have no lightning strike, so against some match ups, like ramp, even if we hit hard early, we have very little means to reliably burn them down when they're low for the extra reach, so them dropping their endgame stuff is sometimes just game for us. I know we have things like sinister concoction and bone splinters, but there 2 for 1s, so its hard for me to justify using them.
But that doesn't mean we dont have tools that supercede the other archetypes, and with that thinking in mind, I'm going to readjust my Jund deck once again.
So if you guys would, if you have thoughts on removal we have available, please tell me, like if its been worth running it or not, or the times you had to board it out. Thanks.
Ugin is going to get really bad once all the fatties are colourless. I sold all mine. Sell sell sell!
He's going to be absolutely rotten. Hangarback walker has already nerfed him quite significantly. I reckon he'll be $3 junk within 2 months of rotation
I have gone from 4 demons and 4 traverse to 3 each, then 2 each. I've needed to lower my curve, and Demon has had to be the first creature to go. it is also, alongside traverse, a diminishing returns -type of card. you only really want to see the first one because the first one is enough to turn on delirium (similarly you want only one Traverse in your opener, usually). Demon can also be very valuable when it turns on kolaghan's command and you're scraping for value. It is still a very valuable creature since it does enable those two cards, and having one big evasive threat is good with Arlinn too especially.
If you want to beat BW and Secure, IMO the only way is to go full blown aggro, and play 4 duress post board to supplement it alongside Transgresses. don't bother with other interaction besides that, really. I've been very happy with my own 2 MD Duresses too.
I liked it a lot. Sin prodder has just surprised me. In a deck with delirium triggers, GDD, pulse and kolaghan's command (today I'll test with den protector), it is VERY good. The only cards I can't take back (walkers), my opponents takes A LOT of damage to discard it. So, sin prodder in this list is a MUST KILL creature. In addition, it is a 3/2 menace.
On the topic of Mindwrack demon, I run 3 in my list and I can't tell you how many times ive won games with a turn 4 demon that they cant answer. He seems solid to me, especially with dank dwellers.
