I've recently been brewing with an aggro list featuring cards like [Path of Mettle] and [Relentless Raptor] while also combining accents of the Ramunap Red and Mardu Vehicles decks. I have come to the brew of
4 [Bomat Courier]
4 [Toolcrcaft Exemplar]
3 [Soul-Scar Mage] *Debating on if Fanatical Firebrand is better.
4 [Earthshaker Khenra]
4 [Relentless Raptor]
3 [Ahn-Crop Crasher]
3 [Hazoret the Fervent]
1 [Oketra the True]
3 [Gideon of the Trials]
2 [Shock]
4 [Lightning Strike]
3 [Heart of Kiran]
2 [Path of Mettle]
4 [Inspiring Vantage]
4 [Mountain]
4 [Plains]
4 [Shefet Dunes]
4 [Ramunap Ruins]
Then in the board I wanted to be able to have a good grindy option for longer games as well as some graveyard hate for Scarab God and GPG, so it came out to this.
2 [Silent Gravestone]
4 [Abrade]
3 [Cast Out]
2 [Settle the Wreckage]
2 [Glorybringer]
2 [Huatli, Warrior Poet]
It has done fairly well in testing as the synergy with [Path of Mettle] is just gravy and the inevitability the land provides is outstanding. I am currently very on the fence with if [Soul-Scar Mage] has a slot in this deck and if the [Oketra the True] needs to stay in the 60 as it can proc the [Path of Mettle] and provide for a quick finisher and the lack of great exile removal in the format. Looking for feedback in the Sideboard for aggro mirrors and if it can combat the mid-range decks of the format. Any Feedback is highly appreciated.
SO I'm also brewing around this strategy. The list ir pretty similar, and I'd like to know other players thoughts on this, but seems like no one cares?
Just a note when building aggro. Consistency is the most important factor. You will win any match where your opponent stumbles so long as you don't so you want to make sure the deck runs well every time. Currently your mana base is going to fail you. You only have 4 duals but are trying to play Gideon of the Trials which is double white as well as 1 drops of different colors. My recomendation would be drop gideon and run 4x Stone Quarry. Missing a turn feels bad but not casting spells feels worse. If Stone Quarry is too slow for you then you should be playing monored. The good news is that path of mettle should give a lot of late game power if you flip it so being slightly slower shouldn't hinder you much. If you want to run a bunch of onedrops still, you are probably best off picking 1 main color and keeping the other a splash so that you can guaratee an untapped red land on turn 1 for example.
