A few of my friends and I are making Standard decks after exclusively playing Modern over the last 2-3 years. We will be playing mostly @ Gameday and FNM or 2.
I'm trying to figure out if this is viable in Standard. I've tested well against various Energy builds and Tokens. I have not played, what I think are the weaker match-ups, Control, GPG and Approach. While I don't like being weak to that much of the field, we do have 4 colors to make a SB. In testing Pillar of Origins has been the only fringe card, but might be needed anyway. This Deck is very good at recovering from Wipes! If you have any comments/suggestions/criticism, please post. Also, if you have a SB suggestion I would love to hear it. Thank You!!!
So, umm? Why Humans? I mean, why specifically humans? There aren't any good lords/anthems for them in standard. I feel like you'd actually be better off just playing 4-color energy. I'm super curious though. How does the deck recover from wipes so well? Is it just the Ralliers? I think to do well against more decks you're gonna need a deck that has more than just mana and land. You're definitely gonna want some more card advantage and some kind of disruption.
GSS,Rallier getting back GSS and Cloudblazer allow for Card Advantage and Wipe recovery. With Pillar of Origins it is hard to include Non-Creature Spells. I don't disagree, this might not be playable. I'm trying to figure it out.
So, I'm thinking a Humans deck could work, but probably not in so many colors. You have to dedicate a lot of cards in making the mana work. I'm not sure which color you should shave, but if you do shave a color (and drop some of the color fixing), I'd recommend Vanquisher's Banner. It's a good anthem/card advantage that probably should be a part of most tribal decks.
This deck lacks a finisher, it is just a bunch of small creatures with situationally useful abilities but no real power or anthems to boost them into real threats.
You don't even have the generic tribal cards like Metallic Mimic or Vanquisher's Banner (much better than Cloudblazer) here
I agree with the last post in that you absolutely need Metallic Mimic and Vanquisher's Banner. If they're allowed to stick around for long, things quickly get out of hand.
SBMtG put out a deck tech recently and after playing the deck a half dozen or so times this weekend, I can say it does need fine tuning, but it also has a lot of potential and is a ton of fun to play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoleArdqkXU
I strayed a bit from this list so I could include additional late game answers/finishers in the form of Vraska and Scarab God. But I like the addition of black so you can also bring in others like Hostage Taker and Kitesail Freebooter.

Edit: Game-Day isn't a thing anymore.

Pillar of Origins is pretty bad, I don't see any reason playing it over Cultivator's Caravan if you really need a mana rock.
Kambal is a fine card but certainly not a 4x-of in the maindeck but rather as 1/1 MD/SB or 1x/2x in the SB.
Renegade Rallier can't get back Cloudblazer, he can only get back 2-cmc or less permanents.
Personally I'd cut them both for Metallic Mimic and Vanquisher's Banner.
I'd also replace the 4x Pillar of Origins with 1x Rogue Refiner and 3x Cultivator's Caravan.
Voltaic Brawler (or Honored Crop-Captain) can replace Kambal which should move to the SB.
A 1x-of Samut, Voice of Dissent might not be too bad either.
Here is my suggestion:
4x Channeler Initiate
4x Glint-Sleeve Siphoner
4x Kitesail Freebooter
4x Voltaic Brawler
4x Metallic Mimic
4x Rogue Refiner
4x Hostage Taker
4x Attune with Aether
Artifact (6)
3x Cultivator's Caravan
3x Vanquisher's Banner
Instant (3)
3x Unlicensed Disintegration
Land (22)
4x Unclaimed Territory
4x Aether Hub
2x Blooming Marsh
2x Drowned Catacomb
2x Dragonskull Summit
3x Forest
3x Swamp
1x Island
1x Mountain
