Alright so it is a bit hard to explain what this deck is so I will just call it synergy. The main idea here is to use Renegade rallier to be able to return threats to the field often times for a bonus. Rallier can hit Siphoner/Greenwheel/Scrounger/Resoration Specialist all of which are very good cards
Greenwheel and Scrounger add hard board threats that are even more potent with the removal suite here in both fatal push and sinister concoction. I am debating on taking out concoction in favor of anguished unmaking (Thoughts?). This is due to the prevalence of many return effects as well as indestructability that are about these days. Gonti's Machinations serves as direct damage and is supported by energy and the ability to be returned via the Restoration Specialist. As I said there is a lot of redundancy and synergy here so it is a lot to cover.
Ishkanah and Noxious Gearhulk are the finishers in this deck. I realize that Noxious will often hit spot removal but it can be returned with Restoration specialist which in turn can be retuned by Rallier giving Noxious more lives than just one.
The sideboard is up in the air at this point. I am debating between Bone picker and Heart of Kiran for aerial threats in case I fail to move on the ground. HoK can be returned by rallier and restoration specialist if it dies. I am going to add 2 to the board due to the fact that I only own 2 and cant affort to get another one at the moment. Unnatural appetite is a catch all for things such as metallic mimic and Liliana's mastery in the zombies strategy (and was there for Aetherworks Marvel pre ban). I am debating putting in some blossoming defense possibly but id like opinions on that.
I am goin to run this deck at my local FNM (my first ever and probably only for a very long time) and I would like to have a solid run.
Puzzleknots serve a multipurpose role in this deck. It balances out lost life for siphoner and anguished unmaking. It also provides energy to make the machinations viable. If I took out puzzleknots I would have to find a new energy production engine
This iteration seems to have more of a smooth flow and more top end power. I am tossed between 2 copies of noxious or two copies of ishkanah in the main. Whicever makes the cut will force the latter to the board. Greenwheel seems to absorb a lot of removal especially when you drop it on turn 2 after a renegade map or an unbridled growth. That is all well and good though because I can throw it back on the field really quickly with rallier on turn 3 netting me a card from my opponent. Getting delirium is a breeze with this deck and thus I get spiders from ishkanah and don't have to pay the demon penalty.
I've played a version of Abzan Rallier and it's fun. I kept mine a lot lower curve than yours (so nearly everything in the deck could be brought back by Rallier), but you have plenty of threats that can be returned, so I don't see it as an issue. One card that I found that was great was Eldritch Evolution. This card was basically Ralliers 5 and 6! You could Evovle a 1 or 2 drop into Rallier, Rallier would come into play with Revolt, and you could get your creature (or any permanent) back. Then when you had Rallier already in play and you drew an Evolution, you could Evolve it into a bigger creature (I chose Verdurous Gearhulk). Check out Eldritch Evolution. I think you'll like it. It didn't seem great as a 4 of, but as a 2 of, it was fantastic!
Eldritch evolution seems pretty good. I can target verdurous with it as well as I have two of them in my board. I think I could probably shift something around to make room for it.... though im not sure what at the moment. I will definitely look into it for sure.
