I kind of got out of Standard while the Crazy Cat Lady fiasco was going on, but it seems like the environment has reached a fairly healthy level of diversity now. And this deck has shown up a couple times in the top 8, or close to it, of some recent Star City tournaments. (link 1, link 2) As a big fan of Double Moon Walkers in modern, I thought this deck looked awesome. (I mean, anything that runs Tamiyo, Field Researcher is automatically really cool).
Basically, we have a decent amount of energy cards, with Whirler Virtuoso allowing you to cash in all your credits for a Thopter swarm. And on top of that, we have a bunch of value planeswalkers, which can start coming out on turn 3 off a Servant. Nissa's and Chandra's plus-loyalty abilities are fairly complimentary, allowing you to contol the top card of your deck before trying to cast it. And then we have random Glorybringers, because, you know, value. The deck is full of cards that just feel really solid.
I'm wondering if any of the gods feel like they'd slot in. You could safely run wrath effects in an aggro meta and they'd dodge them all (except Descend upon the Sinful, but that's pretty overkill)
With only 1 colored symbol they're pretty splashable, too. Just curious if in testing you found you met the requirements (frequently hellbent/full grip, lots of thopters, 4 power dudes?)
edit: I also feel I should ask for clarification how this functions as a control deck? The list above makes it seem more like a walker-heavy grindy midrange deck. It doesn't seem to interact with the board as much as a typical control list wants to, and no interaction on the stack pre-SB. Minor quibble, I like this list, but it doesn't feel too control-y atm.
I'm also very interested in this deck, I'm personally going to try 1x Ajani unyielding. I think that if you're playing energy, Bristling Hydra is too good not to include, I've seen a list somewhere that also played Longtusk Cub and Sylvan Advocate.
How do you feel about Oath of Chandra? I've always felt it was the worst of the oaths.
Honestly, no, not really. I just posted the deck because I thought it looked really cool and I thought it should have a thread here.

Which gods did you have in mind?

Yeah, the name of the deck varies. I've seen it as 4 Color Midrange and 4 Color Planeswalkers.

I also thought Oath of Chandra is probably the worst card in the deck, but I think this deck wants a few more pieces of spot removal than just Harnessed Lightning, and Oath isn't actually that bad.
And yeah, Bristling Hydra does seem like it's worth playing here.
Rhonas the Indomitable seems to be the best choice. He's auto-on with a Glorybringer, easy-on with a Tracker, and in a pinch can activate himself by pumping literally anything else on your board, bar tokens.
Hazoret the Fervent pairs nicely with him, but her condition is pretty iffy. How often do you find yourself low on cards? There's not a significant draw engine present here, so I could see her being a useful finisher but I don't think, given her drawback, that you necessarily would want to run her over anything else in your list as it stands.
Kefnet the Mindful has the exact opposite issue. He's slow as a card advantage engine but he's really good if you're able to maintain a full hand (doesn't seem super likely in this list, since again, no significant CA). He MAY be worth a sideboard slot? I dunno.
Oketra the True works well with Whirler Virtuoso but she seems pretty easy to shut off as well. I'd probably not run her, but if you're able to dump your energy into thopters, maybe?
That's in order that I'd consider them.
I'm in the midst of brewing a Temur shell that is somewhat along the same lines and this is giving me ideas for that. I don't know about splashing a 4th color in current standard manabases (i'm a scaredy cat), but I might just - I don't have the Tamiyos currently but I do have the Nahiris (they were bound for some boros exert shell I'm thinking of making for a friend to play with). If my list ends up feeling like it belongs, I'll post it here.
