Aether Revolt's Inspiring Statuary has made it easier to cast huge nonartifacts spells in an artifact-centric deck. Any artifact can now pay the generic cost through "Improvise." The first creature to benefit from this effect are Eldrazis. Since a Metalwork Colossus deck is naturally infused with artifacts, Inspiring Statuary makes each artfiact a mana rock to cast your Eldrazis. For testing reasons, I used Marc Tobiasch's Metalwork Colossus deck list as the beginning shell for this concept.
I tried a handful of games with your list last night. The Crackdown combo was a viable threat but was chump-blocked more often than not. Thoughts on Key to the City in lieu of the Puzzleknots perhaps?

I've ran into similar problems. Key is worth a shot. Did you come across any other problems?
Also Forerunner of Slaughter rather than Hanweir, you can even fetch it with a Sanctum of Ugin after playing a big guy, AND it crews Skysovereign and the Caravan.
Definitely +1 on the Key to the City, would recommend at least 2 so there's always the possibility of sudden dual unblockable Colossus blowout.

Incorporated synergies:
1. Noncreatures Artifacts + Metalwork Colossus = Cheap cast of Metalwork Colossus
2. Artifacts + Inspiring Statuary + Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger = Cheap cast of Ulamog
3. Wandering Fumarole + Crackdown Construct = Infinitely powered Crackdown Construct
In the end, this deck dishes out high powered creatures are a relatively little to no cost.
