I have come up with the idea for this deck after playing and testing quite extensively with a GW version of the Angel package that also included the powerful synergies of Thalia's Lancers and Eldritch Evolution but after dropping and Selling the 2 Gideon from the sideboard I decided to cut the Gisela count from 3 to 2, the Dec in stone, 3 to 2, Quarantine field down to 1 and also dropped 1 Thalia's Lancers and a Planar Outburst to 1 each and added 3 Oath of nissa, 1 Ishkanah and 1 Emrakul the Promised End to make the deck more focused on Toolbox interactions with the added late game benefit of Delirium Emrakul or Midgame Ishkanah as well as making the search function of Traverse the Ulvenwald much more likely to happen early to tutor for whatever Answer can pull you out of a hole be it from Lifegain from Linvala or Blockers from Ishkanah etc then restocking your hand if need be with Seasons past.
Hope you enjoy my idea and would love for someone else to pick up this deck and see if we can make this a thing, testing has been positive so far but it is extremely tricky to play with sequencing very important requires a lot of concentration and thought.
Update to the main deck and Sideboard after further testing I have dropped Archangel Avacyn to only the one in the Sideboard, mainly as a pseudo Sweeper but with out any self sacrifice it's tricky to trigger so may eventually change this to either include a selfless spirit in the main or side to help it earn it's place. I have added back in the second Thalia's Lancers also as games tend to go long and the search function with all the legendaries in my deck is just too good not to have more of. I have also added 1 greenwarden of murasa to the sideboard in place of the 4th stasis snare for removal heavy matchups that can rebuy us a threat and provide extra offence.
Your list seems interesting, I tested it on Xmage. Few notations:
BLighted Woodland is not a creature and Conclave Naturalists is not legal anymore. I would definatelly cut the 3 Traverse the Ulvenwald and the Emrakul and the Ishkanah, because it is pretty hard to get Delirium (most of the time you have sorcery, creature and land, but nothing more. Maybe put 2 Tracker into main-deck and the new Nissa, as well as getting something vs. aggro into the sideboard
Favourite Deck: Elves (Modern & Legacy)
Standard: New Perspectives Combo
Modern: GW Hatebears | Death and Taxes | Eldrazi and Taxes | Abzan Liege | Abzan Company
Commander: The Gitrog Monster (Combo) | Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper (Control) | RIP Leovold Sultai (Elvestorm, no unfair locks) | Mono G (Yisan or Titania)
Tiny Leaders: Too many decks to keep track of
Pauper: RIP UR Drake | Mono B | GBx Goodstuff | Jund "Melira"
Hi sorry im still on mtgo so conclave is still legal atm, will update when Kaladesh comes out, cheers will move the Woodland now.
Id imagine id want the new thragtusk + some number of fragmentize from the set to start with and possibly the new fiend hunter. the delirium is a side product and not the main game plan, traverse is an all star as drawing it early it makes my land drops, late it tutors, I have played a lot of games with it now and you would be surprised how many times the card has pulled me out of the crap. You are always looking to sac your 3 drops to 5 so with just a pilgrims eye and an evolution you are at 3 you have the oaths, 5 sac lands as well as stasis snares etc that often end up binned and you have Geier reach to discard to achieve it too, Emnrakul is just for the late game, if he comes down via delirium great if not this deck makes mana for days and 10 mana minimum is easy in a game and I am actually thinking of cutting to 23 lands for the 4th pilgrims eye or robo puppy from Kaladesh which again would make delirium more likely. I ran the none delirium build to start with, focused heavily on the Angel combo and it was very solid, I just felt it lacked some oomph at the very top end but possibly going forward I will drop the delirium and opt for a gearhulk strategy instead but until the cards come online or I can be bothered loading Xmage up I wont be able to test.
...You are always looking to sac your 3 drops to 5 so with just a pilgrims eye and an evolution you are at 3...
Eldritch Evolution exiles itself, so it never will end up in the graveyard unless you get it there through self milling or a discard outlet. Sacrificing Pilgrim's Eye to it will only ever result in two cards types in your graveyard.
I'm currently testing without Ishkanah and Traverse, I have upped the Oath of Nissa's to 4 added the 3rd Gisela also added 2 Prairie Stream and a Island and Tweaked the basics by -1 Forest - 2 Plains so that I can test Altered Ego which I like a lot so far and is great as it fills a pretty boring 4 scmc spot that consists only of Guisela otherwise. In the Sideboard I have added 2 Reality Smashers as a haste threat to get rid of Plainswalkers and removed the Conclave and Descend upon the sinful.
Deck seems ok so far but it also did with the travers x 3 I'm definitely not hitting lands as freely though but require more games to make a final decision on if to go back
Dropping the Delirium package did not end well. I feel that Delirium is intrinsic with the overall synergy of the deck, provides a very real end game alternative and it really is not hard to achieve and only becomes easier once you include Robo Dog. Speaking of Kaladesh cards, I really thought that Altered Ego fit well in to the gameplan and going forward the inclusion of Aether Hub or Botanical Sanctum will make there way in to the main deck to facilitate it's inclusion, Aether Hub is great with Eldrazi Displacer but without a secondary source of energy production it may mean I go with the latter although Attune with the Aether may be a worthy addition to facilitate it's inclusion. Going Forward as from tonight hopefully (Finally Kaladesh comes to MTGO) I will definitely be adding an Arborback Stomper to the list (Only 100% change from Kaladesh) in the main and possibly one in the side and I will also be trying out Fairgrounds Warden,Filgree Familiar and also Cataclysmic and Verdurous Gearhulk once I get a hold of each of them.
My current list: Added Reality Smasher 1 main 3 SB as an answer to Plainswalkers and to provide a clock vs Control
