Just as another take on the deck I have had success with prior to rotation,is trying to play the majority of the game at instant speed so stormchaser mage gets cut since it rewards sorcery speed, go up on counter spells and use instant speed card draw and burn. There are cards however that are to good to exclude like icendiary flow, and collective defiance. Here is an example of such a deck if anyone prefers this play style.
I am thinking to add Saheeli x3, chandra x1 and at least 2 Red Gearhulks. Using chandra ramp we can get gearhulk on furn 5 and with saheeli we can copy any of our creatures for extra value
Well I got 3/4 spirebluff canals but couldn't find any aether hub or harness lightning everyone was keeping them. (I also got 3 stormchasers in case I want to switch to it)
Didn't get enough for a tournament because no one else had a deck either, just casual play testing with half proxied decks.
Why are we playing at instant speed?, having counterspells is kind of annoying because you can't just cast them to trigger your alchemists (or stormchasers) they are good in the side obviously but when you are on the attack dispel/rejection are the only ones I'd want to play.
As far as testing goes, I won on the play and lost on the draw. Call the bloodline still makes me cry and there is a lot of life gain in the format if they want it, people playing aggressive we will see more life gain around.
This is the deck I've been testing, has some differences with the previous decks. Its quite cheaper in mana cost so the titi flips on turn 4 on 2/3 matches. Bedlam Reveler is a most-of-the-time 2mana good hand looter, with Fiery Temper discard and Thing In The Ice horror-type runs quite good. Expedite Its also a good Card Draw for 1 instead of a burnspell, giving haste is always good. we're looking for fast here. Revolutionary Rebuff Its A great turn 3-4 counter, an also works for bombs in lategame.
Testing i realized that Cathartic Reunion is better than Tormenting Voice considering discarding cards like a thing in the ice or Fevered Visions are not painfull and Fiery Temper is a great sinergy of course. Drawing 3 Cards is a HUGE difference, but carefull with spell queller that can be a headache.
I prefer Incendiary Flow because is more versatile and exiles, if not used for exiling annoying creatures can be used directly to burn. Geier Reach Sanitarium Its A good looter for hard moments, if you get whiped-out or are hand-stucked, alongside fiery Temper can save the match.
Sideboard is still brewing but i have some keepers. Fall of the Titans is a huge versatile removal and the surge cost is easy with this deck, being able to target player or planeswalker or creature for XR is very usefull. Select for Inspection is very effective for vehicles. keeper Ceremonious Rejection great counter for eldrazis and artefacts. Weaver Of lightning replaced Stormchaser Mage, Stops the copter, and deals with x/1 and even x/2 with this deck. Reach also makes him a keeper.
The rest of the sideboard is pretty standard for the deck
The deck is working Fine, but i still have to invest in the fastlands, and adding Harnessed Lightning could be a good thing, but i would have to swipe the deck into energy-type, and i think UR Thermo-Thing is not going there.
The big problem is a to find a card to destroy artifacts, and some enchantments could be a headache too.
I've also been messing around with thermo-thing and i think most people are forgeting one great spell that fits really well in the deck - Unsubstantiate.
I think it is very good at the moment since it's another way to handle an attacking copther and it's a great tempo play, that goes very well with Thing / Thermo and with what the deck is doing.
I currently run 2 MD, but it has been so good that i could see going to 3.
I'm also not playing harnessed lightning and instead i play the 4 galvanic bombardment because i want to flip thing in the 4th turn.
I tested Chandra, Torch of Defiance but it seemed unplayable since its quite expensive (for the deck) and does not sinergies that much with the semi combo you're trying to pull, why are you using it ? maybe i'm missing something. Same thing happened when i tried Saheeli Rai, but being a 3drop saw a lot more play than Chandra.
Totally agree with you on Unsubstantiate , in fact i swipe to side the 2x Negate and im testing 2 Unsubstantiate in MD. Having tested more i'll post more feedback about it.
I'm bringing this deck to a small championship today and thinking about using 2x Revolutionary Rebuff in MB. I know it won't counter the dreaded Copter, but this bad Mana Leak impersonator can help us to mantain the board empty and gain us some tempo. I will also use another 2x Unsubstantiate for the counter/bounce as well, since this card always overperformed for me.
Has anyone tested this card and has some insights to share?

The other replaces Thermo-Alchemist and TiTi for Stormchaser Mage, Curious Homunculus and maindeck Weaver of Lightning to facilitate the addition of Smuggler's Copter. It also uses the Aether Hub Harnessed Lightning package.
I could see the addition of the Energy package into the first list, but I'm wondering if adding copters is worth it. The copter is another discard outlet, making Tormenting Voice and Lightning Axe less necessary. I haven't gotten to do much playtesting with either list.

Even if you change your list to fit the Copter in, don't dismiss Lightning Axe as a discard outlet only. I consider it as an instant removal that can kill Kalitas, Avacyn, Thought-Knot and other nasty things, with the upside of being a discard outlet.
My main concerns are Smuggler's Copter, decks that ramp to Emrakul, and W/x aggro. I'm playing a total of 8 spells that deal 3 damage at instant speed, those should handle Copter (Galvanic Bombardment can also handle it as long as there is at least one in the graveyard). Against decks that play additional vehicles (Fleetwheel Cruiser and/or Skysovereign), I can bring in Ceremonious Rejection and Negate to go with the instant burn spells. For aggro type decks, I have 2x Kozilek's Return in the sideboard as well as a single Avacyn's Judgment that is usually less useful than Kozilek's Return, but provides me with a potential out should too many creatures with 3 toughness be in play. Against Emrakul decks, I think counter magic is the way to go. Negate counters ramp spells, Ceremonious Rejection counters Emrakul. Against Spirits, where Spell Queller is a nasty thing to play Cathartic Reunion into, I swap the Cathartic Reunion for Catalog. The effect is much weaker but the discard is greatly reduced and it's on spell resolution rather than as an additional cost.
EDIT: I decided against playing Collective Defiance because it's a sorcery-speed burn spell at 3-CMC. It can't deal with Smuggler's Copter. I already have 4x Incendiary Flow, another sorcery-speed burn spell, and at 1R I'd rather play that. I'm trying to keep the curve low in order to be able to fire off multiple spells per turn.

One of the best parts about Defiance is its versatility. Being able to discard two lands and draw two new cards (not even the best case scenario) by paying an extra mana is really powerful when you're relying on 1-for-1s and burn spells. I'd be hesitant to cut it.
UPDATE:
Today i tested the deck and this happened:
Against Copter deck, adding this you wont have any problem, its even an easy match if you pull a weaver in early-game and then tempo-it.
I pulled out all fevered Visions and Thermo Alchemist 'cause fevered doesn't hit him and thermo is 3-toughness without reach.
Weaver of Lightning works so well by helping removing creatures and blocking flying creatures, that i switched 2 to MD.
I left out Revolutionary Rebuff 'cause often got stuck in hand and the meta is playing lots of artefacts, i figured out that this deck wants to curve in the first turns, not counter. Currently is on the Slots that de weavers left in side but im looking for a replacement (Probably Kosilek's Return or a similar rage.)
Goldnight castigator is huge against control and tempo decks, they usually get 8 damage before being able to take it out.
Collective Defiance is a full keeper, every match shows the many ways yo can use it, loot the oponent, loot yourself, take out pw and creature, combining with Fiery Temper to hit 6 to the face or seven to a creature or mixed , or both , etcetc, this card is locked in the maindeck x4.
I think Fevered Visions x3 is a good number, you never will have more than 2 and most of the times you will play only one.
Currently im having problem with UW Spirits and Allies , im missing some good massive removal, will test a Radiant Flames
For UW Spirits i dont have comed out with a consistent way of win the matchup.
Brisela Decks are a head ache, if they manage to play the double card, its very unlikely that you can win that game. Im thinking what can i do with that.
I want to test to Jund Delirium, Seems like a very consistent deck and i dont have cleared out how to actually play to it.
@tat:I looked it up on the gatherer and on the wizards standard legal page it is 100% legal. And I have found 2x helpful since it helps clean up random non-creature threats (gideon, liliana, etc...) that hit the field on the turns we have to go shields down to play threats or kill othe problems.
As I'm on the toilet at work I don't have my updated list but I run the full 4 Reveler's. I do not however run Thing or Thermo.
Reveler demands that the deck play more low to the ground spells. I'm running full playsets of Take Imventory and Galvanic Bombardment as a way to not care about discarding spells if needed to get my Reveler online. I'm also only in 21 lands so I don't play any big mana cards. The new dual land is a godsend for this style of the deck.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
What do you think of Bedlam Reveler? I have been playing 2 in my list since it came out, because I just love the card. But Most of you seem to ignore it? Do you think it is more like a sideboard card against control?
I use it in the side in grindy midrange matchups, but you're usually already favored against those decks as they're usually not fast enough to race you and Fevered Visions destroys those types of decks.
So, here is a thought I had. There are really a couple different UR/spells decks that are kind of being forced together here. You can play Stormchaser Mage and go very aggressive, playing cards during your own turn when you attack with the mage. Playing cards during your opponent's turn is less helpful in this case. This is probably the version Bedlam Reveler goes in as well On the other hand, you could play Thing in the Ice and go more a counter-control route. Slower deck with a bigger payoff. We've had bad counter-magic for a while, though. I think you can play Thermo-Alchemist in either version.
The idea I had is, could we use the sideboard to transform the deck from one to the other? Imagine making the opponent face the aggro version in game 1, and then in game two they run into Thing in the Ice and counter magic and other stuff like that. Could it be done?
Just a quick draft. Go in hard game 1, and then if a controlling deck seems better, switch it up for the long game on game 2 (or if you think doing so will completely screw up their sideboard plan)
With a lot of people in my local meta pushing the vehicle decks that dud splits at the scg open here is the deck I'm gong to be running this week. Disperse, as mentioned, is there to clean up problematic Permanents that slip past our hate, hopefully getting countered on the back swing. This is a version that wants to play on opponent's turn when possible which is why stormchaser has been omitted. Maybe -1 thing +1 torrential gearhulk may be in order with all the instants, but 6 cmc seems rough.
Edit: may cut a thing ands something else for 2x Dynavolt tower. Makes harnessed lightning better, switches threats to non creature threat that's harder to deal with and great post board versus control and midrange when we bring additional counters in.
For everyone that's running low to the ground lists, why no copies of harness the storm? play another copy from the graveyard and then it goes back to the graveyard to be copied again next time you draw the spell. Seems great with take inventory and galvanic bombardment if nothing else. I'm also looking at incendiary flow, dual shot, lightning axe (lightning axe discarding lightning axe, HtS triggers the discarded copy, discarding fiery temper. 13 damage for 3 red anyone?), select for inspection, or harnessed lightning. All good (to me anyways) one and two drop spells that get better with multiple castings. Heck, even revolutionary rebuff can become a one mana extra convolute if needed.

I like this concept very much! Need to try it out one day.
Does 4 Bedlam Reveler really make sense with Take Inventory and Fevered Visions? I think this might end up on not playing [csrd]Bedlam Reveler[/card], to not discard all burns... Maybe replacing two with Combustible Gearhulk? Then you get mana sink (should you ever need it) and it also provides draw possibility...
----
Another thing. This is the list I took to FNM tonight and won:
Round 1 2:0 vs UW control (player was a newbie)
Game 1 played visions on turn 3, 4, 5... Was enough
Game 2 TiTi morphed and stomped to death
Round 2 2:0 vs GBU evolution toolbox
Game 1 got him Visions locked, kept killing evolution targets.
Game 2 got him to 6 life from burn & visions. Then played the Gearhulk. "Okay I gamble" Revealing Reveler, Gearhulk & Visions. Opponent made a sad face.
Round 3 2:1 vs UWB planeswalkers control
Game 1 Visions got countered, he kept killing off my Alchemists / TiTis, and as soon as I managed to kill one planeswalker another appeared. At some point there was Dovin Ban, Jace, Liliana & Ob Nixis at the table and I kept drawing lands.
Game 2 Creature bouncing out, Rise from the Tides & counters in. Got to play the Visions twice, but he exiled them. Kept burning planeswalkers. Finally got enough Zombies to kill him with Rise from Tides
Game 3 Got him Visions locked, he got flooded
Man this deck is so much fun to play! But I still have a huge problem vs aggro... I think the Stormchaser swap might be a good idea for that but it needs some playtesting...

Another thing. This is the list I took to FNM tonight and won:
2x Bedlam Reveler
2x Combustible Gearhulk
4x Thermo-Alchemist
2x Thing in the Ice
// Spells
4x Fiery Temper
2x Just the Wind
2x Lightning Axe
2x Revolutionary Rebuff
2x Unsubstantiate
4x Cathartic Reunion
4x Collective Defiance
4x Fevered Visions
2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance
//Lands
4x Aether Hub
2x Geier Reach Sanitarium
4x Highland Lake
2x Island
8x Mountain
4x Spirebluff Canal
1x Goldnight Castigator
2x Weaver of Lightning
2x Broken Concentration
2x Ceremonious Rejection
2x Lightning Axe
2x Savage Alliance
2x Unsubstantiate
2x Rise from the Tides
Way way way too much card draw. - 4 cathartic reunion + 4 collective defiance. You will have trouble killing anything with 4+ toughness
