Hey first time on the board and first time trying to get into standard (I just play for fun with coworkers usually but they're really into it so im trying to be) and looking for advice on a deck I built
I don't know terms very well yet, so I'm just going to list the cards and you'll probably see what I did:
2 Thalia, Heretic Healer
4 Thalia's liutenant
3 Drana, Lib of Malakir
1 march from the tomb
2 dramatic reversal
2 invocation of St. Traft
1 Authority of the Consuls
3 Gideon, Ally of Z
1 Odric, Lunarch Marshall
2 grasp of darkness
2 always watching
2 collective effort
2 Gisela, Br Blade
1 Bruna, Fading light
3 Makindi Patrol
3 expedition envoy
2 kor bladewhirl
Lands:
4 allied encampment
3 westvale abbey
Still figuring out the rest
First standard deck I've built so if its terrrible then let me know, if you have recommendations to switch out some cards for something better then that'd be great
Definitely not horrible and you'd probably do ok at fnm, but you could make some improvements pretty easily. I'm not sure what all of those cards do without the deck tags though, I just recognize that they don't see much play (March from the Tomb, Odric, Lunarch Marshal, Makindi Patrol, stuff like that). There's a page somewhere that teaches you how to use deck tags, but there is a little button when you're making a post that looks like a stack of cards. Just highlight your list and click on that button.

I think you might want to consider more 1 drop creatures or at least have them for sideboard. I don't like 1 Authority of the Consuls since you are basically just counting on luck you have that one early and it is almost a dead card if you get it late which is much more likely when you only run 1. I would run 3 or none. I'm not too keen on dramatic reversal because your deck is more centered around 2 and 3 drops rather than 1 drops, so you probably are going to want to be playing creatures or removal rather than holding mana for a combat trick that doesn't boost your creatures. You may be better off just dropping blue entirely because it makes it much easier to deal with mana and while invocation is a strong card you don't have anything that is hexproof and most of your creatures fall to anything that does 3 damage so your opponent will often 2 for 1 you when you play it.
Ok I see what you're saying, I'll remove my blue additions. So maybe then I'll add another expedition envoy for an additional 1 drop.
What should I add for the last 3 do you think? More removal spells (grasp is good but any others you know of that could be useful. Mind rot or transgress the mind)? More authorities? Maybe potentially add Sorin?
Your deck is set up to go wide so personally, I'd add Thraben Inspector, it combos nice with Thalia's Lieutenant and can get you an extra card draw if game goes long. Zulaport Cutthroat is another option, since it combos with human and ally portions of deck and it serves as life drain when hit with a board wipe. Maybe put 1 in main deck and other in sideboard. Running the full playset of Collective Effort is never a bad thing either.
Ok, so I split my one drop creatures between Thraben Inspector and expedition envoy for versatility, added an extra collective effort and 2 Zulaport cutthroats given how vulnerable my deck is to board wipes. Thanks for the help!
I realized I had an extra spot so I added another Bruna to make that late game plan more likely. Given my deck is mostly Aggro, do you think I could get away with 22-23 lands and add more to my strategy or do I have too many 2-3 drops for that to work? If so I might add an extra 1 drop of inspector and And envoy each. given I'm splashing black ATM, how should I set up my land layout? And is 4 westvale abbeys worth it?
If you want to run Bruna in the deck, then 24 lands is a must. If you are willing to take Bruna out, then you could probably drop to 23 but running 2 double black low on mana curve probably prevents cutting to 22. I would only run 2 Westvale Abbey's Myself but I see a case for 3. You can't use Ally Encampment for casting Grasp of Darkness so you probably want at least 10 sources of black mana. I'd probably go 4x Concealed Courtyard 2x Shambling Vent 4 swamps and 7 plains.
