Found this list and thought it was worth a discussion. I really like what its trying to do here, it just plays into the type of 'game' I enjoy. Cheating fatties onto the field. List first, hopefully some discussion afterwards.
First thing that jumps out to me is the inclusion of Bygone Bishop with only 11 other cards to trigger it, is the value there?
Early lists tend to be rough, but like I said, I like what its trying to do here. Without a Patrol in play though, its just not doing anything though is my concern.
Anyhow, anyone see anything here? Improvements? Ideas?
Combo decks are normally not very competitive, but this one looks like enough fun to temp me to try my hand at it. I think that Cluelamog can be a thing, but every combo deck needs redundancy so that is going to be the main focus I have. Here is my go at it:
OP, your 1st deck seems very slow in this heavy agro meta. Turn 1 and Turn 2 are gonna put you seriously behind. It seems like getting this going to cheat those big guys out is slower than using Eldrazi Scions and Cryptolith Rite to cast those big creatures. Especially since you can tap the Scions to make a mana, then sac them to make a 2nd mana. Plus it works with Westvale Abbey.

I mean, your absolutely right, but what your suggesting is a totally different deck.
And to be fair, this list was posted before the set was even live on MTGO. There was no 'meta' at the time of posting.
I realize that they're technically different decks, but they seek to accomplish the same thing. Fatties on very early turns. If this deck is running at peak efficiency, then you get your 3 clues out, turn 4 you cast Briarbridge Patrol and then turn 5 you can sac your 3 clues with Tamiyo's Journal. That's a lot of dominoes lining up. It seems like Scions and Cryptolith can achieve that more reliably.
That said, I don't think we have to abandon a deck idea just because someone else can do it better. Won't know until it's fully explored right? =)
I think white is the wrong color for this deck. I think you can get more mileage out of blue. Not only would you be able to get your clues, but you can protect your Briarbridge Patrol. Blue also gives access to colorless mana through Yavimaya Coast for an easy "splash".
One thing this deck really needs is some mana ramp. If you can cheat them out even faster, that's even better!
Just something to think about.
