I really want to make this deck work. I think it is faster than humans, and having [card]Kor Bladewhirl
[/card] allows us to actually go toe to toe against humans. I think the fact that is a equipment deck that can produce tokens also gives it an edge over control. I've had games where we keep 1 for 1 trading creatures with removal, but the deck always pulls through with secure the waste or on creature swinging with captain's claws to make two threats.
I like the idea of running the 1 sea gate wreckage land.
I've tried Always Watching in the list, and it just doesn't work with how many tokens this deck relies on.
2 Secure the wastes Playing this at the end of a control players turn with equipment on the field ends games.
2 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
2 Strength Of Arms I was surprised how good this card turned out to be. 1 Might make its way to sideboard
Hi. Sorry to intrude in your thread. I've run a similar deck some time ago. I more interested in finding the best way to play Allies, than to play them with Equipment. I'm not certain if I've found the solution with this deck (http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mardu-aaa-all-allies-aggro/), but it's very aggressive and quite good. Please have a look at it, and post your comments on tapped out, or on this site (I have another thread for it, but no one seems to take interest in the deck). If anything, read what I have to say about Munda. He may be very good for your deck, now that the Fetch Lands are gone.
What don't you like about Strength of Arms. It allows me to swing into humans, and have them lose a creature while mine remains. The 1/1 token it produces is just a bonus.
You side them out against control.
You also side out secure the wastes against humans, because they will Deceleration in Stone it for sure.
As someone pointed out earlier I have gotten to a point where my deck is no longer an equipment deck. However, it is very much an aggressive Boros Allies deck. I am starting to believe that with the new SOI equipment the deck should either move into an aggressive midrage Mardu or Naya shell and I might post some theoretical lists in those colors at some point. With my new list I went 3-1 at FNM last Friday due to Side board errors on my part and getting Second at a Monday Night Magic on breakers (it was a three round tournament and I went 3-0, but so did another guy his opponents did better than my opponents did), so my new list is working great and I love it. This is my new decklist and a brief overview on how it plays:
In general you want to start with at least two white sources and one red source in your hand, a one drop and a two drop. If you don't have a turn one and turn two play available you should most likely just mulligan. There are match ups where a turn one Needle Spires is good enough however it is far from ideal.
Plan A: The Aggressor
The idea with the deck is pretty simple play creatures turn them sideways to attack repeat. The three big decision points with this deck are:
Sometimes this deck has a little trouble racing decks like Mono-Red Eldrazi and RDW decks. If they go faster than me I pull in most of my sideboard if not all of it to switch my deck into a whole new plan. The Archangel of Tithes forces them to choose between advancing their board, attacking, or blocking. If I have an Always Watching on the field this is simple insane since it allows me to tax them for attacking and blocking. Extra removal allows you to control the board a bit. Eerie Interlude is fantastic, we play this for two reasons dodging removal and retriggering ETB effects, this is one crazy good little trick. Retriggering ETBs namely, Knight of the White Orchid and Thalia's Lieutenant, can be a very powerful play to fix mana or to make your team bigger. Since creatures entering at the same time "see each other" Every human blinked alongside a Thalia's Lieutenant gets the +1/+1 counter from the it's ETB effect and triggers the Lieutenant's effect giving him +1/+1 counters. Archangel Avacyn is great to trade favorably in attacks and blocks, it can clear a board, leaving you with a 6/5 flyer on to beat your opponent in the face with. Lastly, for those grindy match ups Nahiri, the Harbinger is a fantastic catch all. She is a card filter, removal, and she can tutor for the creature card you need.
Yes, this $0.40 gets its very own little blurb. This card makes sure you win game two and three against control, and other noncreature intensive decks. If you bring this in you should limit how many noncreature cards you bring in from your Side Board.
Let me know a general consensus about if you guys want to hear about this list or not. If the group isn't interested in hearing my insight on this list in this thread you can follow my updates on it here: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/thalias-boros-allies/
IMHO, Strength of Arms is just a plain combat trick. No one ever want to touch our equipment guys in combat. So +2/+2 is less relevant for me.
But i think your word is encourage me to try more.
You realize the creature doesn't need to be equipped. Also, since humans are doing very well I don't think it will be very uncommon for 2/2 or 3/3 with first strike to be blocking our creatures. Giving a creature +2/+2 to kill their first striker and allow your creature to live is basically removal that also adds a 1/1 to the board.
When building this deck you need to think about the most common match-up which will be humans and Bant, and they run more efficient creatures than we do.
Has any one tested Gideon, Ally of Zendikar against humans or Bant with these lists? I would love to hear what you found.

Oops... I totally forgot that I NEED ONLY HAVE equipment. Not equip creature. TY a lot.
i play 1x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. It turn out good. Against human he can buy some time and build our board.

My deck doesn't have enough red sources to really use Lightning Berserker effectively. With only twelve red sources I can't drop the berserker on turn one reliably and will be able to rarely pump him for more than one or two.
I put together this deck again, and was looking at the available options and noticed there's a pretty interesting interaction between Captain's Claws and Kor Entanglers which kinda makes me want to build in that direction.
I like when the deck has very fast wins but sadly it just isn't as consistent as Humans in that. We don't really have enough cheap allies for that. So what if we were to build into a more mid-rangy version?
Cards like Stone Haven Outfitter become more important, since it gives us card advantage, but then I wonder if theres enough good equipments for such a deck.
so with Sigarda's Aid out I think this deck is worth brewing with a little again. Ideas for decklists?
I actually am thinking of trying a Mardu list or even dropping the red for an exclusively BW midrange list. My reason being is that I think that if I'm running 4 Sigarda's Aid then the deck practically demands I also run Call the Bloodline. Call the bloodline gives the deck everything it needs to continue to pressure the opponent when I reach that point in the game that is the bane of every equipment deck, which is when I have tons of equipment on the battlefield and nothing to equip. This enchantment effectively turns dead draws like excess lands, equipment, or Sigarda's Aids into 1/1 lifelinkers ready to be equipped.
I'd also maybe throw in the more midrangey combo of 3 to 4 copies of Open the Armory with one copy of Slayer's Plate and a copy of Gryff's Boon. Even though there won't be many humans in the deck for the slayer's plate's second ability, it still grants the biggest unconditional power boost out of all the equipment in standard and turns 1/1s with lifelink into a 5/3s with lifelink. Gryff's boon would be there to give the deck some evasion and also an enchantment that can be brought back from the graveyard to mostly nullify Dromoka's Command's sacrifice an enchantment mode.
Since the deck would look significantly different than any deck listed in this thread, I've been thinking about starting up a new thread for a BW midrange equipment build.
