Anyway, my winnng list which is pretty much zemans with a spark trooper mainboard, in my 1st game vs esper control I got him down to 10, had 5 mana open and a phoenix on the field, spark trooper, phoenix and shock for lethal was glorious feeling lol....
I split first in a 13-player standard event at my LGS today with the same list as yesterday (zeman list -1 blind obedience +1 spark trooper sideboard since I still can't find a second Blind Obedience...seriously no store or player in my area has one)
Round 1 vs Mono-Blue Devotion 2-0
Game 1 was one-sided, game 2 was really close, he got me to 1 because he drew lots of cards off of Thassa, Bident, Jace, Nightveil, etc and I killed him the turn before I would die.
Sideboarding:
-4 Boros Charm -4 Skullcrack
+4 Satyr Firedancer +1 Spark Trooper +1 Blind Obedience +2 Chained to the Rocks
Round 2 vs Mono-Black Devotion 2-0
Game 1 I won on the back of 3 Warleader's Helix to stop his attempt at Gray Merchant racing. Game 2 was won on the back of Chandra's Phoenix being repeatedly sacrificed on his turn to tap Desecration Demon and then recast on my turn. Overall it was an easy match but he drew poorly.
Sideboarding:
Actually not remembering what I boarded out, I know I shaved 3 Searing Blood thinking he'd drop Pack Rat, and dropped Shocks as well. I think it was -2 Searing Blood -3 Shock -1 Boros Charm +2 Chained to the Rocks +4 Firedrinker Satyr but I have a feeling that's wrong too.
Round 3 vs Azorius Control 2-0
Game 1 and 2 were both extremely easy, nothing to say about this match really. It was annoying game 1 that I was on a creature strategy and he got to use Jace effectively, but he +1 Jace when I have Chandra's Phoenix and then plays Elspeth into my one card in hand, but I had scried into Skullcrack #2, so I Skullcrack him, draw, Skullcrack, swing for 1 for exactly lethal.
Sideboarding:
-2 Chained to the Rocks -3 Shock -3 Searing Blood
+4 Firedrinker Satyr +1 Spark Trooper +3 Viashino Firstblade
Round 4 vs Mono-Black Devotion ID to split 1st place, pretty sure I just win this match because he plays Lifebane Zombie over Nightveil Specter.
I'm seeing a lot more mirror matches now... would it prudent to strengthen our sideboarding in addition to blind obedience? I was thinking of adding our own fiendslayer paladin, and swapping a mountain or two for boros guildgate. The guy is a nightmare for RW burn unless you put in anger of the gods, and I think most ppl side out chained to the rocks.
I have also seen some people put in wild ricochet. That would probably be specifically for the mirror only. But I think fiendslayer could be useful in other decks, like vs monoblack agro.
I also like boros reckoner in the mirror and vs gruul monsters.
Your videos are fantastic, and are really helping me be a better player with the deck. I am planning on taking it to GP Cincinnati this weekend, and really haven't gotten as much testing in as I would have liked, but your videos definitely help!
Sideboarding question: how do you feel about Fated Conflagration? It seems to be popping up in a lot of lists probably because it kills both polukranos and Jace (among other things). Have you done any testing with it?
Tested with it tonight, would give it a glowing endorsement. The power level is relatively low but it answers everything you want answered as a 1-for-1 with good value (even as an instant).
Good luck at the event, glad the videos helped.

Just played a mirror where I lost in this situation-
Opponent at 7, I'm at 5. Opponent holds 2 searing blood, I hold skullcrack and searing blood. I have Boros Reckoner in play.
On my turn, I swing with reckoner. Opponent casts searing blood before damage, takes 2 down to 5. He casts 2nd searing blood. I cast skullcrack, takes 3 down to 2. <I do nothing (my mistake>. Reckoner dies, and his searing blood trigger resolves before my reckoner hits him. I take 6, and die.
Would casting searing blood on my own reckoner do anything? If I cast it after his 2 searing bloods (with 2nd on stack), would he die? Or would his searing blood trigger always go first?
If I cast it after his 1st searing blood, would I be able to win as long as I stack the reckoner trigger and searing blood trigger correctly? Is this game winnable at all? I know that doing nothing was a dumb move.
No, what happened was reckoner's ability triggered after the 2nd searing blood death trigger. I had to put my ability on the stack first, then he put his on. His resolve first.
I cast skullcrack. He's at 4, I'm at 5.
If I cast searing blood after his 2nd, then reckoner dies, and again his triggers go off first (last on stack).
If I cast searing blood after his 1st resolves, then
a) he answers with searing blood. Reckoner dies, his stacks go off first again, I die.
b) he doesn't do anything. Reckoner dies. His searing blood resolves, I'm at 2. I stack my abilities such that reckoner hits him for 2 before I die to my own searing blood. I win.
If I cast searing blood with his 1st on the stack, then he answers with his own searing blood. Reckoner ability goes off from his 2nd searing blood, he takes 2 down to 2. My searing blood goes off, reckoner dies. His searing blood trigger resolves, I'm at 2. I stack my abilities such that reckoner hits him for 2, I win. His 1st searing blood fizzles.
So I could have won if I cast searing blood in response to his first... I think?
Hey Frungy, I think it was me you were playing in that situation you're describing. I actually bungled that pretty badly since I a) should have upkeeped it to keep you off a draw step and b) should have cast the second Searing Blood with the Reckoner trigger still on the stack. If you responded to my second Searing Blood with your own you would have won assuming you stacked the triggers correctly:
-Your Searing Blood resolves, Reckoner is dealt 2 damage and placed into the graveyard due to having been dealt lethal damage.
-3 triggers happen: Searing Blood damage trigger for me, Searing Blood damage trigger for you, and your Reckoner trigger.
-Regardless my Searing Blood trigger resolves first (due to Active Player-Non-Active Player stacking, since it's your turn my trigger is put on the stack last and resolves first).
-If you stack your Reckoner trigger first and then your Searing Blood trigger you would be dealt lethal and die with the Reckoner trigger on the stack
-If you stack your Searing Blood trigger first and then your Reckoner trigger then the Reckoner trigger would resolve and I would die with your Searing Blood trigger on the stack.
Of course like I said if I had played it correctly I should have still been at 7 life with the first Reckoner trigger on the stack below all the other triggers happening. It was definitely an interesting situation and I learned a lot from it myself.
I still don't like his list at all and the sideboard looks strange.
Went 5-0 in a TCGPlayer Standard Bronze today and won the semifinals and split the final (I beat all three people in top 4 during Swiss rounds)
Still missing 2nd Blind Obedience, still playing with 1 Spark Trooper.
Matches:
2-1 vs Rakdos Aggro
He boarded in 3 Whips and I couldn't deal with the lifegain game 2 but had no trouble on the play in game 3.
2-0 vs Selesnya Aggro
This is an easy matchup without hexproof stuff.
2-1 vs Rakdos Control
Lost game 2 to Rakdos's Return on my 4-card hand followed by beats with Stormbreath + Keyrunes, won game 3 with good math skills
2-1 vs Orzhov Control
Lost game 1 to 3 Desecration Demons and 2 Blood Barons with a Whip, won the next two with relative ease
2-0 vs Maze's End
Lol this matchup is ridiculously terrible for them.

Finals
Split with Rakdos Control, probably can win. I sideboarded terribly vs him in our first match, didn't realize his only creatures were Rakdos Keyrune, Mutavault, DD, and Stormbreath. Should definitely have left in Boros Charm and cut Searing Blood.
Tweaked my list for the updated meta of heavy control decks, but also have a large hedge for the mirror/other aggro decks, keeping up with the meta and being a slight step above
No longer a big fan of Reckoner vs the mirror. I didn't know how stacking worked, and it usually just gets searing blooded twice when I'd otherwise have no good searing blood targets (after taking out ash zealots).
I would like to add my list as well. This is slightly modified from Niel Hartman's list that finished 1st at SCG Open: Seattle. Any suggestions or comments welcome.
I feel like Firedrinker Satyr is just strictly better than Cackler in the matchups you're boarding in 1 drops. Look at it this way, if the main matchups you bring them in for are control decks (so Esper and U/W) then the drawback is never really going to come into effect unless they play an Elspeth (and even then it's not like Cackler is doing much better). And for the rest of the time it's an invaluable manasink for you since you really don't need to be concerned with your life total against those decks. At the same time Cackler can never do more than 2 damage a turn.
Sure cackler could never do more than 2 dmg a turn, but with control decks making a shift towards esper with MD spot removal, cackler dodges both Doom Blade and Ultimate Price.
Do you guys think that peak eruption could make a spot in the sideboard? Like it's not bad in the mirror and could be good vs GR monsters with a firedancer on the board. Land+creature+player. maybe i'm stretching it; because it is three mana and dead in multiple match-ups. i dont know, just a thought.
Sure cackler could never do more than 2 dmg a turn, but with control decks making a shift towards esper with MD spot removal, cackler dodges both Doom Blade and Ultimate Price.
I guess that's something going for it, even so it still gets D-Sphered, Verdicted, Azorious Charmed, Heros Downfalled, Devour Fleshed so I don't feel like it's that significant over losing the pump ability. Most Esper lists play pretty varied removal suites, so you avoid maybe 3 of the removal spells in their deck but lose the ability to kill them much faster. Firedrinker Satyr is a must-answer threat on its own against these decks while Cackler is something that they can ignore for a little while if they really have to.
I dunno about peak eruption vs mirror... you really don't want to play sorceries because keeping up skullcrack is so important. Then again, this deck is low on lands so it can be pretty painful. I'm guessing if it's in your opening hand and you don't miss land drops, it can be awesome. Later on, you need 5 lands up to really play it.
Sure cackler could never do more than 2 dmg a turn, but with control decks making a shift towards esper with MD spot removal, cackler dodges both Doom Blade and Ultimate Price.

I think the Cacklers are better vs Mono-black. But I am just wondering, would Firedrinker Satyr also be worth boarding in against Mono-black?
I don't think you should board in either card against mono-black. Neither is good vs Nightveil Specter (Satyr is ok though I guess), Desecration Demon, or Grey Merchant and you're making their removal better by boarding in these guys when it should be mostly dead against you. Also most of their removal is Bile Blights or Devour Fleshes anyways with maybe 2 slots devoted to Doom Blade/Ultimate Price so Cackler is only marginally better at dodging removal vs them too. Then again your list is a bit different than the one I've been trying (Zemanjaski's) which doesn't run Reckoners so it's possible you do want some number of your 1 drops against mono-black to replace Reckoner who is really bad against them. I still feel like Firedrinker Satyr is better suited to this role though, being able to trade with Nightveil Specter is relevant and Mono-Black durdles around a lot which gives Satyr ample opportunity to punish them.
This is from a week ago though so it might not be exactly what he's running at the moment. And yes Lifebane Zombie is yet another reason you should want to take out Reckoner in those matchups (on top of it being weak to their spot removal). Keep in mind this list is for the MTGO metagame, which might be a lot different than your LGS. Online the popular decks are mostly Mono-Black, control (U/W and Esper), Mono-U Devotion, and the mirror. Reckoner is pretty bad against Mono-Black and the control decks, and those make up about 30-40% of the meta.
Do you really think Lifebane Zombie is that much of an issue? As a 3/1, it's an awesome Searing Blood target! Not to mention that it dies to any burn spell we have that can target creatures. It's a creature that I'm happy to use a Shock on even.
I do not like Chandra, Pyromaster in this build, so instead of two of her, I added two more Warleader's Helix. The four life gain is so nice and it just works faster than her. It's the same CMC as well. Plus, I don't have to work around trying to protect her.
Stormbreath Dragon has been surprisingly good and is many times a game-ender.
Since I'm running four Warleader's Helix, Boros Charm, and 3 Chained to the Rocks, I decided to drop a mountain and add a plains. I would have put another Boros Guildgate in, but I already have so many lands that come in tapped that a plains seemed like a better option.
Sideboard thoughts:
I'm wanting to try and get Blind Obedience in there. Maybe one less Firedrinker Satyr and one of something else? I think it would be spectacular against G/R/x monsters and especially aggro decks, which this deck seems to have a little trouble with. I've been playing against quite a bit of mono-black aggro recently. They almost always have Mogis's Marauder and Blind Obedience would almost make it worthless. I really like the idea of pinging and life gain.
I took out Viashino Firstblade for more board control. He's a beast and was difficult to take out, but I had to make room for Boros Reckoner, Anger of the Gods, and Fated Conflagration. I'm still messing around with the Reckoner, so the Firstblade might make a return. We'll see. Against Rakdos and mono-black Boros Reckoner usually gets killed really quick, so I usually side him out. I might actually put him in the sideboard and put Skullcrack in the main, since a lot of the meta (where I'm at) has lots of creature removal.
I think Anger of the Gods is better than Mizzium Mortars for aggro control. Turn 3 board wipe versus turn 6 (if I even have enough mana) board wipe is a pretty big deal. Yes, Anger hits my stuff too, but I either a.) don't play it if I have stuff on the board I want to keep or b.) my opponent has lots of creatures and I don't mind losing one or two to completely wipe them out.
This deck is ever changing so I'm sure some modifications will be made again soon. Any comments/suggestions?
You forgot gruul and jund monsters. And I think monoblack agro and rakdos agro are getting popular too.
Those decks aren't nearly as popular as the ones I listed. You can use http://www.mtgo-stats.com/ for reference. Jund and R/G monsters is probably next most popular after the 4 I listed, mono-black aggro doesn't see very much play. Local metas will probably vary from this but online your biggest concerns should be the Mono-black devotion, Esper, U/W, and Mono-blue matchups.
