I only play on MODO and larger tournaments, so i can only speak from what I see.
And I see a -ton- of Jund Monsters, Gx Aggro, R or B Aggro, black dev and a smattering of other random decks.
Satyr Nyx-Smith though is a terrific card for esper/UW/black dev. It's the best card to bring in against black devotion and verdict control decks, I usually float between 2-4 of these and 0-2 hammer of purphoros.

A wizard who reads a thousand books is powerful, a wizard who memorizes a thousand books is insane.
This is the list I've been playing recently, it consistently gets me into top 4 at my LGS, but I have no major tournament experience with it.
The score on it now is 17-3 at my shop so far.
I am getting to the point now where I just want to insert more temples, hell I could even put Chained to the Rocks in this list.
I chose bloodrush creatures because Eidolon doesn't ping me for using them, and Domri finds them, so the deck is pretty efficient for drawing cards.
My losses have been to two Hour of Need decks three out of four weeks in a row.
Looks like the sideboard will be a work in progress.
The more I play with Harness by Force the less I think it's necessary, the maindecked Mortars is more effective, and Firefist Striker, Reckoner and Chandra all play well against midrange already.
Burning Earth is -probably- correct at 2, but I could see it going up to 3. Not playing with access to this card is bananas.
Satyr Nyx-Smith is -very- good at beating Desecration Demon, which is the hardest card to overcome in the Black Dev matchup... Some combination of 3 Nyx-Smith and Eidolon gives them fits.
I'd like to fit in more Eidolon's, but I hate drawing them in multiples so 2-3 is probably correct.
Nothing needs to be said about searing blood and skullcrack, these should be 4-of's in every RDW list.
This is my goblin build, I think you can say it is like RDW due to the burn suite, though in my first build, I used Stoke the Flames, but I thought drawing more cards would be best with Act on Instinct due to all of the cards being so low cost.
Darksteel Citadel isn't as necessary as you might think, we could run Mutavault in this deck instead. I felt that Boomist tokens would be great for shrapnel blast, but also only half of the deck has grey mana, so citadel could mess with draws, then again so can mutavault. Whether this deck might be better than other red decks is kind of an odd question. To be honest, I think the better deck is one that runs the new burn but with that new 2 drop that gets +2/+0 and first strike when you burn a target, similar advantage that Firedancer gives if you get through, or more card advantage because you first strike a blocker with no card loss.

The red mage lives by the variance and dies by the variance. May the variance be with you, always.
Of course, but it does help with sweepers from control decks, versus citadel which is only there for Shrapnel Blast.
Shrapnel Blast may be functional on Goblin Kaboomist by itself.

This deck is the reason Rabblemaster prices jumped to $5 a few days ago. Unfortunately none of these lists made top 8, although one made 9th place and didn't make it in due to .22% on tie-breakers.
What do the red mages think of this? Anything anyone would change at first glance?
I've been playing a list pretty similar to it, based on it. The SB is pretty different though, I've always loved Searing Blood in the side, but then again my meta is pretty aggro heavy. Not sure what matches the Eidolons come in or the Titan's Strength/Dynacharge come in.
Something like Searing Blood could definitely work in more of an aggro meta. That deck looks like it's definitely tuned to play at a Pro Tour. I'm also having a bit of trouble figuring out that sideboard.
Tom Ross Made the deck. With that said, the sideboard is a mix of removal, hosers(eidolon, skullcrack) and a semi-transformational package that lets you turn into a more legion loyalist deck against heavy creature lists like mono-blue and GW decks.
I personally built a similar deck not to long ago(I bought 20 rabblemasters for a dollar 'cause I knew the card was tits) with a different sideboard. My board plan is:
Against opposing creature decks, what I do is I board out all my non-legion loyalist 1-drops for my entire sideboard minus skullcrack and I play the midrange deck and proceed to kill everything using Chandra and flamespeaker to put the game away by drawing me infinite cards. The board is sweet because my CA enginies are very powerful in and off themselves and can come in many different matchups like against black decks, control decks, or burn decks.
LP, I'm checking your article out as well. Behind all of your swag is the brain of one of the most intelligent Magic players I've ever known. I guess that's one more thing for you to add to the wall of ego that is your Sally sig.
I can go with that. LK, you are the Mace Windu of red mages...cool, tempered logic in deliberation, but capable of just flat kicking tail when the situation warrants it.
I'm currently playing and loving the Rabble red. I'm playing the Boss' list with the single hall of triumph. I read online that this deck is good against many mid-range archetypes out there. From my experience, though, I found that this deck is weak against g/x midrange with burning-tree. I can not power through a turn 2 emissary into caryatid/voyaging satyr into turn 3 polukranos or even just a courser.
Does anyone have any advice how to tune the rabble red against a G/x midrange meta?

I have been splashing white just for Chained to the Rocks which has really improved the midrange match ups, GW aggro and Mono Blue Devotion which seem to be Rabble Red's tougher match ups.
It's not pretty when G/x decks get BTE and Caryatid on turn two, but we can still win with Loyalist triggers and Titan's Strength/Rubblebelt. It's a very specific set of cards, but that's what you need to overcome those openers from G/x.
played this to a first place finish at game day (love the new mat!) and 3 3rd place fnm finishes (30+ people with at least half armed with netdecks) in a row. really enjoying it.

That is almost exactly the list I have won two game days and many FNM's with rllis, the sideboard is different, and in my list I moved the three warhounds into mizzium mortars for awhile, and the last one became a Flesh // Blood which is a killer almost every time I draw it. That and I only ran three confluences for awhile. It is such an aggressive deck isn't it? Domri makes it a red deck that doesn't run out of gas <3 (another notable sideboard card I run is 2x Armed // Dangerous versus midrange, it is a blowout if you cast dangerous on a Boros Reckoner)
The only recent change has been testing the core list of Red Dev with Pyxis of Pandemonium because it completely changed my matchup vs U/W control and R/W burn.
Has anyone seen this list by Brad Nelson for Rabble Burn?
I am interested, I know it runs burn, Young Pyromancer, Goblin Rabblemaster, and Purphoros, God of the Forge.
2 Mutavaults I think.

I've been wanting to splash white again for Chained to the Rocks and Keening Apparition recently
Burning Earth is crazy good right now, it single handedly has been winning for me against jund, esper, uw, and any 2-3 color decks its such a beating.
Here's what I ran today, I decided to give a zero Fanatic list a try, so it'd be slightly weaker against jund/Gx aggro, but it flowed quite well.
19 Mountain
2 Mutavault
Creatures: 30
4 Rakdos Cackler
4 Firedrinker Satyr
4 Ash Zealot
4 Burning-Tree Emissary

Frenzied Goblin is the new best one drop.
I already built a goblin deck with the new Obelisk of Urd.
4 Frenzied Goblin
4 Foundry Street Denizen
4 Legion Loyalist
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Goblin Kaboomist
4 Goblin Rabblemaster
3 Obelisk of Urd
3 Act on Impulse
4 Shrapnel Blast
4 Magma Jet
4 Darksteel Citadel

I'd probably go with something like:
4 Darksteel Citadel
1-2 Hammer of Purphoros
4 Phyrexian Revoker
X# Kaboomist
2 Hall of Triumph
having a high % chance of dead cards in hand because of no artifacts would be bad news, but there are plenty of good artifacts to play in red.

4 Rakdos Cackler
3 Legion Loyalist
