I've trimmed one Temple of Enlightenment so sitting at 11 currently, but my list is quite different than any running 1 and 2-drops and can easily start with tap lands the first few turns.
Nightveil is honestly just shimmed in, last week I played with a pair of Lifebane Zombies in that slot. 24 of my 26 lands can cast Nightveil, so getting it on the table is not a problem at all. I'm actually considering a 3rd Ashiok and something else in those slots.
Brimaz & Supreme Verdict are the more difficult cards to cast, but with 16 white sources in my manabase it seems OK so far.
One thing that I want to say about my list is that in the games I did play in Cincinnati I never had an issue with my mana base. I could easily cast obzedate or Archangel of Thune on turn 5, verdict or whip on turn 4 and so on. I still really think that my list is both powerful and consistent. Maybe in the hands of a more experienced pilot it could do better? Someone else want to try it out and provide with their results and feedback?

I have been thinking a little bit recently. My worst match-ups with the humans build are control and mono blue. Deck is too slow to really apply pressure against control, and mono blue is way more consistently aggressive then my deck with temples and shock lands. So I am trying out now a version of the deck without blue, instead red. I really just want rakdos charm against mono blue out of the board, and slaughtergames against control out of the board. You lose out on skyknight and ephara and detention sphere but you gain a more aggressive gor-house chain walker and exava, rakdos blood witch. Both of these are humans as well. Proxied it up last night and tested with success against R/G monsters which was a great matchup as esper too. So you don't weaken the deck to that at least. Will try it out some more tonight and let everyone know how it feels. I think this may be the direction that I am going to go in the future.

I think we have similar ideas in our deck choices here. Though I'm not a fan of Pack Rat without Mutavault, and I'm not really sure we can reliably cast Nightveil Specter, but I do like the ideas. Downfall I don't like, because the double black on turn 3 is *really* stretching the mana base, and bile blight just okay, I never felt like I really wanted it.
Nightveil is literally the easiest thing to cast in the deck matching 24 of my 26 lands. Pack Rat is great as a late game way to filter out lands, and also get a draw off Ephara that triggers on your own turn. I do side it out against Esper and Black, but I often like at least having a singleton.
I could see dropping Bile Blight, but having 4x Sphere and 2x Downfall is a pretty nice catch-all for removal. The BB is much less of an issue for me, I am playing 17 Black sources as opposed to your list only having 13.

I started testing 4 NVS just to see how it goes, I stayed at 25 land and left out Elspeth for now, I'm not sure we really want her. Athreos can't come fast enough. I really want to put Herald in this deck. Flying kitty awayyy
Just built a list for this today and I'm wondering how people are liking NVS? I have Daxos in the deck instead currently because he synergizes better with Necromancer and the lifegain helps a lot since I'm playing Orzhov Charm and Thoughtseize.
Also, how has Athreos been performing? I'm tempting to try him out but the deck has a lot of competition for the three drop slot already it may be hard to squeeze him in.
