If you like reanimating fatties, and blowing out games quickly, this might be the deck for you. Reanimating has been a big thing over the last few years across several formats, including the recent INS-RTR standard, and of course the eggbasket that is legacy, this is an update to the last season's reanimator. This deck losesthragtusk and unburial rites, but gains whip of erebos, the kind of catch all to fill the void left by those guys. This version has a strong match up(in my testing) against all achetypes, and seems to be very consistent
Why not play this?
If you dont like beating aggro and control in the face, and you like to play from your hand or library, then this probably isn't the deck for you
Esper Control: This match up is very hard. it's only 50/50 us, because their Elspeth,Sun's Champion is such a house because she is a repeatable board wipe. Our Best bet to beat them is to resolve a primordial from either the grave or your hand.
UWR(American) Control: This match up is slightly more in our favor than vs esper. There Assemble the Legion + Purphuros,God of the Forge combo can be quite annoying. Also when they resolve Aetherling, we have to race them
Gruul/Naya Blitz: This match up is pretty easy, because our Sylvan Caryatid are an impenetrable wall vs. their 2/X's, and Deathrite Shaman can be used in a pinch to gain life, but beware of the nut draws, as these are espicially hard to return from
Big Red: This Match up is easy, our finishers are just Stronger, but beware because when they realize that they can't burn out your threats, they start pointing it at you. Also try not to let Stormbreath Dragon goes monstrous, because after it does, your Sylvan Primordial does not kill it anymore.
Card Choices:
Creatures:
Deathrite Shaman: This guy does work, he recycles land, thrown away cards off the fuelers, and can block Lotleth Troll This guy is good, he makes mulligans less likely, he can attack and blow out games with a few surprise points, and he blocks and regenerates Sylvan Caryatid: This is our best friend, she ramps, blocks weenie-ish creatures, and is just so good. Sylvan Primordial This guy hit our homeruns, scores our touchdowns, and flies over everyone head to slam the ball through the hoop, He is just so good, When he enters the battlefield, he blows up pesky noncreature stuff, more than just LD. Ashen Rider: This guy is just a champ. this is your best reanimation target. When he enters or dies, exile permanents. Angel of Serenity INS/RTR's Favorite baby, she is nuts, she is almost like a one sided wrath, or she recurs your dudes. Trostani,Selesnya's VoiceThis gal. where to start, she acts as another wall versus aggro, and she puts your out of reach so many other times, Obzedat,Ghost CouncilThis guy has fun intercations with alot of the cards, he is also your best weapon versus control, Him +Trostani ='s alot of life and fun lol Armada WurmThis guy was a last minute inclusion, he is nuts, because he generates so much advantage when he is abused.

1.) 5 is a lot to ask for a reanimation spell with no other upside. What made Unburial Rites so good was it's ability to be cast for 4 if chucked to the yard, or for 5 and then for 4 again to reanimate two targets. Standard is lacking a quality reanimation spell.
2.) Mana Bloom is a card not worth running in any deck, ever. The singleton Chromatic Lantern is probably also unnecessary.
3.) If a control deck lands a finisher, you're probably just hosed. As an Esper player, I'd rate your esper matchup as being closer to 30/70 than 50/50. American has options to hose your early game ramp to slow you down for long enough to land a good threat, which American can do earlier than Esper. American is probably 55/45 in their favor.
4.) Aggro won't be easy now without Thragtusk to provide life and value. Gruul and Naya both have Lightning Strike to take care of any of your early game blockers, and both have Ghor-Clan Rampager, which will just kill you dead.
5.) Thoughtseize kills you dead.
Some food for thought. I am not convinced that reanimator is going to be a major force in the RTR-THR standard.

there are ways to play around thoughtseize, and trostani and whip provide ample life, having tested against all archetype contenders for rotation(that are being discussed now) this list has good match ups against all, also our early ramp has hexproof
Who likes deadbridge chant?
I mean, I've always wanted it to work out in a deck >_<
i would like to get some people to test this, as i have not, it seems like a plausible way to fill yard at the most, but to be honest, i think that the cmc is too high to justify it
I have a Reaminator Deck, and Deadbridge Chant works perfectly. I do not run Obzedats Aid. But I do run Lol Troll, and it really helps dump creatures in the graveyard.

i will test lol troll. seems like an efficient way to fuel the yard, and as for dorks, caryatid has proven enough for me, but more dorks so warrant testing, can ou post your list?
Not too fond of having 3 Sylvan Primordials. Actually I think you can trim the fat, so to speak. I'm of the mind that having 11 fatties to reanimate is too much. We can reduce that to 6/7 fatties. Not sure a set of Obzedat's Aid is good. Mana Bloom and Chromatic have to go. The Grisly Salvage might just pitch the Whip to the Yard so maybe we can just work with Commune.
I suggest upping the land count to 25 and taking out Mana Bloom and Lantern. Let's put in some removal Putrefy/Heroes' Downfall/Doom Blade. Golgari Charm is a better card in the side vs. Keenign Apparition since it provides more modes and instant speed. Silence doesn't really have a place in the deck.
I think we can work with the following bombs/reanimator targets:
1x Ashen Rider
2x Angel of Serenity
2x Obzedat, Ghost Council (can be hardcasted but it's synergy with whip is great)
1x Armada Wurm
Why not this? Doesn't Overload on uncastables, can discard them, ramps, early defence plus synergies with the whip's passive, no salvage dumping whip but 8 cards to dig for it.
I don't see what's wrong with something like this. I have been imagining this since whip was spoiled, just never put it on paper. I have no idea what you guys are doing though, this isn't leagacy reanimator.

This really seems like the most competitive version I've seen. However, what is Everyone thoughts on Golgari Charm and Nemesis of Mortals? It seems like both of them could work pretty well. The Nemesis may be counter intitiuve sometimes, but if you are throwing a lot of creatures into the graveyard via Salvage or Commune, it could be useful. I like Golgari Charm for the Enchantment Destruction and Regeneration aspects of it.
This post is kind of buried back on page 3 of the standard deck creation forum, and I agree that it is one of the stronger lists I've seen. Personally I took out Pharika's Mender as I'm not sure about it yet.
However I feel like the biggest thing is that 3 Lifebane Zombie is necessary. 3 power evasive creature and it takes out one of the big threats to the deck, which is scavenging ooze.
EDIT: After rereading the original posts, maybe Mender is a pretty good idea, I haven't tried against too much enchantment hate and Mender will be able to bring back the whip.

The idea is that you snag Whip back from the graveyard after it gets dumped there from Grisly Salvage. It ties the pieces of the deck together a bit tighter. Now you actually have a way to root though the deck to get Whip instead of just relying on raw drawing it.
The land base is probably way off. Obzedat is the only white in the main deck, but hard casting him is going to be a necessity at times so I want to make sure hitting WW isn't going to be too difficult. Green is important, but less so in multiple.
I'm going to try Deathrite over Caryatid and Lotleth over Desecration Demon for now. With 8 salvage effects, chances are much higher than previously of Deathrite ramping (Mulch never let the lands hit the graveyard), and we don't really need him every turn. Desecration Demon is great for a Rock deck where the board is thin and you can pressure an opponent, and makes a killer finisher, but I don't see him working well for this style of deck. We can't afford enough point removal to keep the board clear, and Demon makes an awful defender. Lotleth is there for stalling the board, and pitching Obzedat for the Whip to find.
Shadowborn Demon is also in the main as insurance against digging all of our kill effects into the graveyard. There's already more spells in the deck than I'd prefer, but at least it gives me a way to nekrataal someone with a Whip if I have to do it.

There could be some space for Deathrite, but why over Caryatid? Deathrite obviously has more versatility, but Caryatid is better at blocking small creatures if needed and with hexproof is guaranteed to stick on the board. Both of those get us closer to the goal of casting our big cards.
On an unrelated note, I cannot decide between Alms Beast and Desecration Demon. Desecration is great for forcing sacrifices, but is susceptible to being shutdown later. Alms Beast with the whip out is a non-negligible life gain. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I like this list, it seems pretty resilient, and Loxodon Smiter is definitely a house. This probably needs to be tested, and i will test it in place of three bombs to lower the curve.

Versatility is exactly why, and since I'm running Lotleth I want to be dropping that turn 2 rather than a Caryatid.
That being said, I can see an argument for both if the ramp is necessary.
Treasured Find seems nuts when paired with Rescue. We can safely Regrowth it back to our hands once milled off of Commune or Grisly Salvage. We can also get value cheaply.
Also, if we got the whole Rescue route, I feel like dropping Whip all together. Don't get me wrong, I think the card is great, but if we want to be getting things in the graveyard, Whip is really counterintuitive because it exiles rather than putting the creature in the graveyard. Whip is really only good at reanimating Obzedat because of the cute interaction, IMO.
Voice of Resurgence is the best Rescuer ever. This also means that Armada Wurm, Abhorrent Overlord (maybe) and Ashen Rider can finally shine. Plus don't forget about Blood Baron.
