Expanding the deck I used at pre-release into something I can play in Standard. The deck runs almost entirely multicolored creatures- Boros Challenger, Legion Guildmage, Truefire Captain, Skyknight Legionaire, Hammer Dropper- basically, there are no mono-color creatures except Parhelion Patrol. My removal options are all multicolor, as well. The only cards that are not are Candlelight Vigil and Maniacal Rage. I'm thinking of swapping Maniacal Rage for Dub, as Dub seems to be an objectively better card, however it's slower, and would shift the Mana base away from a sort-of even split to more White than Red. I do have Lockets and Foundries, but would switching to Dub break the deck? I can post a decklist later, if that would help.
Where are you playing the deck? If you're playing kitchen table you can just do what you want and whatever works. If you plan to take it to FNM, your prerelease sealed deck won't cut it in the slightest.
Mostly bulk. I've got a playset of Deafening Clarion and Sacred Foundry. I've got one Legion Warboss from pre-release that is not presently in-use. The rest, as mentioned, is bulk- Boros Challengers, Legion Guildmages, Skyknight Legionaires, Parhelion Patrols, Truefire Captains, Hammer Droppers, Candlelight Vigils, Justice Strikes, Boros Lockets, and Maniacal Rages.

Gimme 5 mins. Im putting a list together with cost for you
That's ~ $60 minus some of the the cards you already have. Hunted Witness, Heroic Reinforcements, Justice Strike, & Lava Coil are other very cheap cards you could try in the deck as well to see what you like best. Also, Justice Striking your own Truefire Captain to deal opponent 4 dmg is always fun
Thank you very much! I'll take a crack at building this. Ten Mountains, eight Plains sound about correct for Basics?
Also, because I'm a complete noob, I'm somewhat curious. The original idea I'd had was Enchantments just in case I was stalled out to the point where, for instance, a Selesnya player started Convoking out their bombs. Is that an inefficient use of Mana, given that it could just as easily go to more attackers? Part of that question is because Swiftblade Vindicator is on the list, and most sources I've seen recommend buffing him before he attacks the first time. Is the board wipe aspect of Deafening Clarion strictly worse than Lightning Strike's single-target effect, or is it because it costs more?
Not trying to second-guess you. I like the decklist. But in the future, I do want to be able to do this on my own without help, so a breakdown of the choice of cards would help me a lot.

The deck probably wans 23 lands. Foundry + Retreat will be 8 of those lands. 8-9 Mountains + 7-8 plains should suffice.
Vindicator does want to be buffed....but Integrity does that as will mentor triggers. Aura's that enchant creatures are rarely considered good because they often lead to your opponent getting 2 for 1 value when they kill the creature youre targeting with it.
Clarion is not a good choice for this deck as a removal option, simply because it would wipe your board too....hence single target removal spells being the better.
Boros decks should be fine for you. You can build it cheap and work from that unless you plan on playing in PTQ or tourney. Most of your cards should translate into that deck. I tried to keep this cheap/playable. The mana base should be corrected first before you invest in higher end cards. Which you can pick up Clifftop Retreat as another dual land.
Sideboard probably needs more tweaking but you should be able to figure that out over time.

This thread has evolved into a nice discussion of budget Boros Aggro, IMO. Is there a good reason for me not to retitle it and move it to the budget section? I'll do it if I don't hear otherwise soon. - hoser2
Would limited value birds like rust wing or healers hawk be to slow or weak? having a bit of evasion is always nice. edit: also the witness.
is the format still to killy for semi mid range buffing with auras? or do you guys feel mentoring once or twice before capping out is still value?
Healer's Hawk is interesting. With evasion, after being mentored, it could be a threat.
As for the auras, without hexproof, lots of card draw or other spells to protect it, it's generally a bad idea. Consider the card Ravenous Chupacabra. Maybe there is an experimental frenzy build that could make up for the card disadvantage, but it's hard. This is the only Standard deck that I've seen that gets away with auras and you can see that it has both card draw and spell protection. It is quite affordable and a good budget choice.
