I recently started playing magic. I know how to play the game and am familiar with most terms. I've had a bit of confusion though in regards to deckbuilding. I want to make a standard deck that is strong enough for me to play at Friday night magic.
As part of my collection I have the Shadows over Innistrad deck builders toolkit. So I researched and turns out I can't make a good enough deck for fnm with this. I was wondering if anyone knew how or what I would need to upgrade the deck. Like what cards I'd need to purchase to mix with the cards I already have. Also I'm planning on making a green and blue deck. Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion but should I worry that it has cards from dragons of tarkir since it'll rotate out soon?
Howdy Striker.
Honestly I just recommend buying some of the cards that are rotating that aren't that expensive; uncommons, commons, budget rares, that sort of thing. Don't buy something expensive like Collected Company, but cards like Fiery Impulse are great, and, fortunately, cheap.
I just posted a couple of decks on here if you'd like to take a look. Best of luck in you search!

Here's an example of a budget build:
4x Thermo-Alchemist
4x Incendiary Flow
4x Fiery Impulse
4x Fevered Visions
4x Fiery Temper
4x Tormenting Voice
3x Lightning Axe
3x Nagging Thoughts
2x Exquisite Firecraft
2x Geier Reach Sanitarium
4x Island
14x Mountain
That should be about $30 total and isn't a terribly bad deck.
