Gloom gives more enchantments into the count. Plus the trample hexproof that I can pump up with Skinner can pump out some damage pretty quickly. It's nothing I would run a full set of, but a 4/4 for 2 is too good to pass up.
Does the new Liliana fit in a Delirium deck even without any zombies? It does have self mil and Planeswalker is another card type in itself to help activate Delirium. Also what about the new Delirium spider? I can't decide if i want to lower or raise my curve of my current deck, raise with Emrakul and maybe spider, or lower with Gnarlwood.
Lili is pretty much built for Delirium. The zombie ult is practically flavor text. Emrakul could find a home as a 1-of you can tutor with Traverse. Though, with either of those cards the idea of 'budget' is out the window. I wouldn't touch that spider. Looks like a trash bulk mythic to me.
That lord spider, Ishkanah, Grafwidow is where Delirium wants to go. And even better if we can put it into play multiple times. This makes having it at 4x easy. Cast one t5 and cast the second t6 or later. Let the first one die. Then you get the spiders. There is probably a way to get it back from the grave too.
Nah, the only reason Hornet Queen saw play was flying and deathtouch. If these at least had deathtouch I could see it seeing play. Otherwise, bulk mythic meant to cater to the Commander crowd.
I don't like the new liliana for delirium. If you -2 her the turn she comes out she is left at 1 loyalty, which seems to be the desirable option if you are trying to hit delirium fast. If you wait a turn, that's one more turn your delirium beaters will have to wait to swing and if they don't have a creature out, you almost just time walked yourself, because you still have at least 3 more turns til her ultimate. Most of the time you want a creature in the yard on turn 3 and 4 to help towards delirium. If you are using her just to put cards in the yard, crawling sensation is actually the superior option.
I have to disagree about the spider. In terms of value, the card creates an army that adds up as a 6/11 in total power and toughness for 5 mana. That's crazy and it has a drain function. It's basically an insta army with the potential to drain on a stalled board. That card is going going to be played, it kind of reminds me of wingmate roc in terms of value.
The + on Lily is what I would aim to use on her most, not as a delirium enabler with the minus. A Delirium decks spins it's wheels the first couple turns. Having a walker that can clean some of that up while affecting combat math on the offensive and defensive spectrum helping your creatures to push through without having to use valuable removal spells on opponents fodder is a good thing.
Now, the minus comes into play in the mid-late game for when you need more gas and just aren't drawing it. A good thing because a pitfall of a delirium deck is running enough non-creature spells to activate it. We can all agree the ult is gamebreaking, as it should be. However, I try not to look at the ultimates on walkers when assessing them. Instead I look at their utility from the earliest point they can be dropped forward.
On the spider, if you were running a control type build than maybe it would be a good inclusion. Otherwise, I just feel it's much too slow and when it does finally drop all it really does is stall. By all means, give it a go. I'd rather bank on topping off with Mindwrack and a single Gritrog Monster.
I think BG Delirium is going to be a legit deck. The exact layout of it remains to be seen but I noticed that a lot of people are working on it. I've seen aggro and control versions, but I think control is the better option, at least a deck that starts off control.
I've been working on a different deck, but I definitely want to give this a try.
