I have to admit, the cards of BFZ/Oath has been hard to brew with for my sake, I usually try to build a fast oir slow moving self mill deck or reanimator, or some sort of tempo ramp, but Eldrazi Ramp is giving me troubles.
Ive been trying to brew multiple decks, but I am so burned out on building decks, and get such a tunnel vision when building these decks that I forget at times what my options are.
So, I come to you with a request; can you do me a favor, using the following cards in the list I am posting, to build a deck? It doesnt have to be able to beat a current standard deck, just beat WU Control and RG Beatdown, seeing how my playgroup has currently shrunk, and buying more cards are just not in my greater interest right now, so I hope you understand why I want to play with only these cards, and nothing new, my meta is either RGu Atarka (With 2 Sarkhan) and WU Ojutai (with 2 Nahiri, I really hate PW spells btw).
Note that I do indeed own enough basic lands, and I am a very casual on again off again player, who prefers commander, or fun casual decks like self mill/dredge decks with Lotleth trolls and Bloodghasts.
What about just buying Zulaport Cutthroat, which is a $1 uncommon? You have an infinite damage combo with Eldrazi Displacer + Brood Monitor + Cutthroat.
If limited to just the cards you posted, I would build something like this:
You don't have a lot of removal, so I'm including basically all of it. Offshoot keeps you alive while you ramp. Displacer is removal-ish and combos well with Linvala. Smasher is the only threat you have that can't just be chump-blocked, which is good if you're trying to attack their planeswalkers.
I do own 4 Zulaports, though I had just put them aside for later use seeing how I wanted to focus on a eldrazi titans deck.
I also have 3 Nantuko's sitting around, mostly from other sets and enough bone splinters, making it good enough. It had 2 Rhino's, but I dropped those due to rotation.
Your right, its the better deck I can run as of now, But I still really want to run a Titans deck using all of the expensive Eldrazi's I own, I kinda feel obligated to use them when I've spent so much on them, you understand right? I have spent like 30 bucks on world breakers, thought-knot's and reality smashers each, would be annoying to not get to use them you know. Its the curse of being a greedy, casual player that was forced into a small playgroup using way too powerful cards.
If you would recommend, what do I lack/need if I were to run a titans deck, I do own plenty of cards from before, I played during original Innistrad, During original Ravnica, and more often than not get the cards that always end up getting banned, like birthing pod, golgari dredge, green suns zeenith. I miss my Pod deck, and my grave troll/bloodghast deck.
Thank you for the build, it seems very interesting, and what I thought would be an interesting direction to take it, but you know, mostly I get blinded by "I have paid too much for this to not run it".
