Updated to add in Magic2015 and added a new section.
Thanks for adding the 2015/Theros block only section. A friend of mine just got me into Magic this past weekend, and all I have are M15 and a few Theros block cards to work with. Considering I don't want to be buying cards that will be rotating out come September, it was an invaluable resource!
The M15 and Theros block only Midrange Gruul has an issue in that it has Gruul Guildgate, which is only in RtRavnica block. It also seems to have some pretty expensive cards, and you don't seem to have price sectioning in that section yet.
Thank you so much for this thread. I tried out the Red Aggro deck the past 2 FNM. I went 6-0 one night and 2-2 the other. I really enjoyed the deck and would now like to add some more money into it to make it stronger. Does anyone have any good recommendations to improve it while still staying in the budget realm? I saw someone play Purphoros, God of the Forge and Hammer of Purphoros and they seemed like a good fit.
Below is your deck that I am currently using.
If you look at the $50 and under RDW you get a much better deck - the creatures are much better and so the deck is faster and stronger. Just getting Rakdos Cackler and Firefist Striker and Gore-House Chainwalker won't set you back very much, but it means the creatures are more efficient and deal more damage than the decklist in the last section.
Yes; I updated it. That list is from when Hero's Downfall was still in the $15 range and running them in the deck was unthinkable if you still wanted to keep it < $100.
I added 2 Aetherlings to the $20 URW control. I went 1-3 at FNM. It made the first burn deck I played crumble. Lost to three guys playing this G/B Monsters deck.
You may wish to look over your ascendancy combo build as it is missing some cheap pieces that make you able to dig into the win rather than cross your fingers for a win by swinging and having a finite amount of plays barring 3 dorks on field and 1 in hand. Examples would be altar of the brood for mill which goes with a cmc 0 artifact like tormod's crypt, briber's purse, or astral cornucopia, any of which will let your creatures on board get arbitrarily large, kruphix's insight which lets you dig way faster than scheming, etc.
This deck was used by Daniel Gaete Quezada in Grand Prix Santiago 2014 and got 4th place.

I would still run the common/uncommon lands that produce more than one color. Unless you're trying to run a very aggressive two or three-color deck, you want to be able to cast all your spells and having the right colors is very important. The "real" decks run Temples.
On a budget, you don't get to scry, which is bad, but you have to make some compromises.
Just don't go too far and run 20 lands that all enter the battlefield tapped.
I'm playing a low-CMC UW Heroic (24x 1drop, 13x 2drop, 2x 3drop), looking for Favored Hoplite/Lagonna-Band Trailblazer on first turn, hopefully second turn as well just so I can have anti-removal ready.
