Hello! Welcome to my Jeskai Burn Deck available for you to build for $40 or less. This deck focuses around burning your opponent out, as well as amassing an army of Tokens to swing in for a win. With Impact Tremors your Token Generating Cards and Creatures are now Burn Spells! Here is the list.
I can hear you shouting already "Where is Jeskai Ascendency!" I know, I know, with a Token Strategy in Jeskai it's just normal to run Jeskai Ascendancy, what I say to that is, it's too slow. We already have Impact Tremors in the main board and we don't need another enchantment clogging up the deck. The Ascendancy is cool, it pumps creatures, and it gives you card draw but it takes away from Tremor.
I need help with a Sideboard though. I don't currently have anything in the sideboard to play against any deck so if anyone could help that'd be fantastic.
On the ascendancy thing... "We already have weaker card so let's not play stronger card". Sorry but you're not that fast, don't spam that hard, and impact tremors won't do that much. It doesn't even do much in a place with dash creatures which admittedly isn't impressive on a wide scale either. Impact tremors? Full 4 swiftspears without a ton of push through? You're sorely overestimating your ability to blitz, then burn them out.
I too was fooled by Impact Tremors when it was first printed. I even threw it into a mono red build. It never did more than 4-6 points (and in that case, only twice) in a single game. If you're going to go Jeskai, probably go for some more power in Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest and of course Jeskai Ascendancy. While you're at it, you may as well throw in the Altar of the Brood, Retraction Helix and other 0 cost non-creature combo into the sideboard at least, for more giggles. If you have the other stuff in place, that makes a huge unblockable Elusive Spellfist, as well as the possibility to auto-mill their deck. If you go that route, you'll need more protection though, but your deck is okay, although terribly slow.
You should probably lose blue entirely, go 4 Wind-Scarred Crag, 7 Mountain, 7 Plains and 3 Evolving Wilds. That way you get what you want and don't have quite so many tap lands. If you like the blue more, ditch the white and go RU, for even more tricks.
While Elusive Spellfist is powerful, he tends to eat removal pretty fast. And three Treasure Cruise aren't going to help you much without a way to fill your graveyard. The only other spell in there is Jeskai Charm and frankly, 3 mana for 4 damage isn't too great anyway. Especially in all three colors. If you like damage, add in a couple Lightning Strike for more damage.
If you like the draw capability, use Anticipate instead. It lets you look at the top three, pick one, then scry the other two to the bottom of your library. You don't lose cards to the graveyard, and you don't have to worry about the opponent seeing your cards. Also, Dig Through Time is much better, although a hair more expensive, but really does the job great to let you pick two of the top 9 cards in your deck!
So, either drop blue, or drop white or drop red. Only go 2 colors. Without the powerful mana base, it will slow you down way too much with 3 colors. If you have the money, go ahead and buy the fetchlands and all the enemy painlands, and 4 Mana Confluence. Otherwise, you'll be eaten alive against anything outside the kitchen table.
@Nev - I guess I only have the 4 Monastery Swiftspear, not the 22 Creatures with all the Token Generation and 4 Elusive Spellfist. Yup, just the 4 Swiftspears. I overestimated my Creature Count immensely. My bad. If you couldn't tell I was being extraordinarily sarcastic. If you want to make dumb posts that aren't helpful go to Reddit please, you'll be more accepted there.
@Nathan1216 - Jeskai Ascendancy is a bad card, I'm sorry, I have tried to make it work over 100 times now and it's two slow, and does nothing on board unless you start pumping things out immediately and you won't even be able to do anything until Turn 4 and that's only if you manage to get the three colors for Ascendancy as well as have Ascendancy in your hand. You know what happens on Turn 4 for other Decks? Siege Rhino in Abzan, Thunderbreak Regent in Temur or G/R Dragons, Brutal Hordechief in Mardu or B/W Warriors, Butcher of the Horde in Mardu Tokens, Collected Company in Aggro Decks running green. So much more is happening on Turn 4 for other Decks than a Deck running Jeskai Ascendancy. That's why I see 0 Point in running it in the first place. It can't come in a turn sooner, it's a dead draw a lot of the time, and for as much as it does it's not that much that I HAVE to put it in.
@ryntess - What is the decks name? "Jeskai Burn". What is the deck running? Burn Spells. What is the decks strategy? Burn opponent to 0. If that is too difficult a concept to handle I'm very apologetic. And anyone who says play 4 Mana Confluence and means it is immediately going to get ignored by me. That shows instantaneously that you are indeed a bad player. I'm not focusing on the Mana Base right now, if I want to put in the money for it I will. What I am trying to do is build a burn deck, the mana base is irrelevant if the Burn Deck aspect isn't good enough. I also need help with a sideboard. I don't need you telling me to go this route, or this route, or to add 4 Mana Confluence to the deck, especially when that is such laughably bad advice. If I need to write it in big bold letters I will, one second.
I AM BUILDING A BURN DECK, I NEED HELP AND ADVICE ABOUT HOW TO MAKE THE BURN ASPECT OF THE DECK BETTER. I DID NOT ASK ANYONES OPINION ON THE MANA BASE OR ALTERNATE COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT STRATEGIES. THANK YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY.
If you'd like to tell yourself that anyone who tells you that you're being unrealistic is somehow being rude, I suggest receding from any place that involves dialogue. To clarify a few things, not once did I say that you only had 4 monastery swiftspear. I said that you're sorely overestimating the speed of your deck. If it is moving blisteringly fast, swiftspear is good. If it isn't moving very fast, swiftspear is not so good. I chose to pick on swiftspear and I'll add a note on collateral damage because they are the clearest point of showing where your card choices are influenced by that lack of realism. You're not moving at the pace of an aggro deck, curve up, and are playing 10 cipt lands. Monastery swiftspear is not where you want to be and it does not penetrate, something that you sorely need. Assuming a common about of resistance from your opponent, you don't have the raw speed of an aggro deck to get in and deal damage fast enough to win. Nor does impact tremors support that. You're a token midrange deck from start to finish that needs to drop a specific card before you drop your tokens as opposed to the much more flexible before or after that you get from an anthem type effect, jeskai ascendancy, or mode 3 Jeskai charm. If what you want to play lends itself to midrange, tailor your card choices to match midrange. Ascendancy is a slower deck too based more around slowing the game down, then out-valuing them with single card threats and card quality. Just because tremors is faster doesn't mean that it is somehow aggro. What happens on turn 4 specifically is not so important. What does UB control do on turn 4? Nothing particularly scary necessarily but this does not make it a bad deck. You do have to interact which ascendancy does better than tremors due to the presence of combat tricks and more space but you don't have to just race them to win.
"You're a Token Midrange Deck" Did I say I was a Token Midrange Deck? No I do believe that is absolutely not what I am. I'm not a Creature Aggro Deck either. I will repeat myself one more time in all caps bold like I did for ryntess so you understand CLEARLY what I am looking for. Since you're a too mentally dense to understand.

If that's too hard for you or anyone else to comprehend then take yourself and move to another thread. I'm not looking for people to give me strategies outside of burn. I don't want this to be a Control Deck, a Midrange Token Deck, a Combo Deck, or anything else. I want it to be a Burn Deck. Let me repeat that for you, BURN, you know the strategy where you point BURN SPELLS at your Opponent to whittle their life total to 0, you know, the BURN Strategy. It's EXTREMELY Simplistic, how the concept is so COMPLETELY New to you people just boggles my mind. Have you never played Magic before? Do you not know what BURN is? You know, the most commonly known strategy in Magic? It's a ******* Tier 1 Deck in Modern, you've must have heard of it's name AT LEAST once.
Yo mate, back off on the vitriol. Telling people trying to help you that their posts are dumb and that they should go back to Reddit is a fairly disgusting attitude. Maybe he didn't give you the help you were looking for, but you could find a more polite way to phrase that so you don't come off like a spoiled child.
That aside, I don't think Jeskai is the right way to go about an Impact Tremors burn deck. With that kind of strategy, you want to be as fast as you can, and mono red is probably the way to do that. I saw a guy playing a Tremors deck at an SCGO. You run the 4 Tremors, 2-3 Purphoros, God of the Forge, both Goblin token producers, and dash creatures with Lightning Berserker, Zurgo, etc, and obviously plenty of burn spells.
If you choose to stay Jeskai, however, I don't think your deck is going to be fast enough to really get in before your opponent stabilises and your alternate route of attacking them to death should you not find your Tremors or they have Dromoka's Command, isn't as good as the red version or a normal Jeskai tokens strategy. You're not losing any important cards by cutting the blue and white either.
As a side note, please stop using white to highlight things. It is incredibly difficult to see on the almost-white background. Thank you, have a good day.
See that's a better post that actually focuses on the strategy I'm looking for. I'm just annoyed with people who come onto a thread asking for something super specific and start with "Your strategy is ***** do this strategy I like better". That's not what I'm asking for. I wanted help with a burn strategy. You helped with that and what you have said makes sense and seems cool. I'll probably end up trying it and I'm sure it'll do much better than what I have because I know what I currently have is terrible, cause I kinda threw it together when a general idea of what I wanted and posted it on here for help on how to actually make it work.
As for the White Text, I use the Dark Version of the Site so I kinda forgot there's a White Version so White Text doesn't work in that case. So that was my bad.
I too think RW or RU or just mono-red is the way to go when trying to build a token deck for under $40. Looking at your list I think you can easily replace the Elusive Spellfists with Foundry Street Denizen and then maybe add some lightning berserkers for more synergy. From there you can decide to either use burn to get your tokens through, or I've played against a deck that used Goblin Heelcutter and Break Through the Line to great effect.
However like HumbleKami pointed out, many decks have Dromoka's Command at their disposal and therefore have enchantment removal in their main deck, not just their sideboard. If anything, if you want to use enchantments now I think you should also run some enchantment creatures, so you don't have to sacrifice enchantment deck is built around when you enevitably get targeted by a forced sac effect. Ideally you would use Eidolon of the Great Revel, but it's not a budget friendly card, maybe Nyxborn Rollicker or Mogis's Warhound. Though both are underwhelming, they at least can trigger prowess if they're bestowed on another creature in the late game.
Which none of it makes any sense without understanding that what you've got doesn't have the racing capability. You can do burn if you want. You can do impact if you want. Just understand that impact doesn't have the lasting impact of something like ascendancy which actually lends itself to penetration. What you have is almost a type of jeskai ascendancy deck minus some of the slower control elements but with tremors jammed in instead of ascendancy. If you really want to play tremors, why not something like red dash? Why don't I see a single dash creature? 1 color will be faster and lightning berserker at least lets you get multiple triggers. A token and prowess friendly engine lends itself better to ascendancy which has the oomph to make use of the army. Tremors just doesn't have that ammo nor should you expect it to.
