I'm not sure what you mean by groups of 4, but I assume why there's 4 copies of the cards? If so, it's for consistency. Variance is a big part of the game, so that's why you run more copies of the best cards or the ones you always want to see in your hand. For example, if you're running 60 different cards with different names, you're not going to be consistent in your results or gameplay as well as if you run a full 4 of the best cards.
The best analogy would be poker. If you were able to build your own deck of cards for poker, you'd stack it with 10s, Jacks, Queens, Kings, and Aces and leave out the other numbers just so it allows you to get the best hands possible.
Just know that running a full set is not always advised though.
Registered just to say thank you Tbuzzsaw.
I've just returned to magic with a friend of mine after about 5 years and looking at all the possibilities of cards and worrying about staying within the format is very overwhelming if you don't remember any of the cards.
wanted to play green as it was the only color I haven't played before and the deck is a blast.
The whole thing cost me $23 at my local game shop with a couple of foils thrown in and I'm sure you could build it even cheaper online.
It's easy to understand and fun as all hell to play.
I've thrown in a Nissa and as it stands the deck is 6/1.
Thanks again.
Green removal is the fight club. Epic Confrontation or Savage Punch would be worth running or having side. (Did you notice Hunt the Hunter is only green?) Bow of Nylea helps a bit, too, with flying control and deathtouch. +1/+1 counters nice with Avatar. I like Temur Sabertooth here - protection from removal, reset Avatar, Hunter or Polukronos for upsizing. Otherwise, you look ready to bash.
At the moment you have pump spells like a super aggro deck. You could cut gather courage and an aspect for the 3 Temur Sabertooth. Another nice Temur Sabertrick: bounce a tapped creature with Boon Satyr aura to get an untapped blocker. Plus pick up Satyr for rebestowing later. If you don't have Polukronos yet, the Sabertooth could placehold for those.
You might SB some Arbor Colossus too. They eat dragons and have great green devotion.
Maybe up to $30.

I would like to also ask why are cards played in groups of four?

Honestly I took out some pricier cards that could make the deck much better, like Den Protector and Collected Company.

I could try to get more expensive stuff over time
