Hey all! I'm new on MTg Salvation decided to get in because i,ve been reading lots of threads here. Real cool and useful community and that is why I decided to get a bit more involved...well asking for advice would be the better saying.
I'm trying to build a cool and fun deck for casual play. I want to try Black/Blue since Black is my favorite MTG color and Blue because no one plays this in my casual group.
Ok...the basic i'm trying to go for is plenty of denial, some creatures and ways to get creatures/tokens back on the battlefield. The problem I see (well, that I just saw) is many of my cards have Delve and so few allow me to discard cards. I think that could be a problem. I'm also looking for ways to make my opponent discard often, emptying it's hand and laughing to the bank...
What would you recommend, i'm all hears for tips and advices to have a fun and not too annoying for my opponent deck (well, it'll be hard since there's blue in this :P)
You will also not that some cards are only in 1s...it's simply because I don't have more (like Perilous Vault and Ugin)...
I could invest a bit though...like maybe $50 if this would give me cards that could be used in other decks...
I'm also working on a mono white/Artifact deck that would surprise the s*** out of my friends lol
DTK will give you the cheapy anticipate which should be a 4 of.
Dissolve, nullify, bile blight, Crux of fate. Disdainful stroke depending on your meta. 1 Silumgar, the drifting death or a prognostic sphinx. Ultimate prices if you have leftovers from RTR once DTK comes out. Jeskai sage is ok filler space. Jorubai mud lurker in sideboard. Just as a few things to consider. The only thing remotely expensive in that list is the crux of fates.
Replacing Cancel for Dissolve is a great tip, i'll do that.
I'll check if I have some Nullify, surely I have a few in my boxes.
I will check at my FLGS for a Crux. I already have 2 Silumgars.
Didn't planned a sideboard but I should I guess...but our games are just so much casual that no ones bring a sideboard except our two more serious players.
I am trying to see if the Skullhunters have their place in this deck...I don't have lots of creatures and the tokens that will pop will be very situationnal. Maybe I should replace them with 1-2 Silumgar and 2-3 Heral of Torment? I'm also tempted to include a Phenax in there if I can get my hands on the card...
