I'm new to playing, but I felt like sharing this Standard deck idea centered upon Abzan's Mer-Ek Nightblade, Ainok Bond-kin and Longshot Squad giving your creatures death-touch, first strike, and reach.
Please keep in mind that I'm new, but have bought Will of the Masses for M15 and Abzan Siege for Khans as far as Intro Decks. I really, really like G/W's synergy.
[edit]
When I first started playing this sort of deck, I was wary of Windstorm. Since then I have found that Abzan Falconer is leaps and bounds better than Longshot Squad. Go figure. =P Replaced the old conceptual deck list with my actual, current Abzan Oulast Ability deck list!
Updating as applicable.
Grovedancer, sundancer, cathar, fear of resistance, and naturalize can take a hike in favor of gods willing, mana dorks, and putting your important creatures up to 4. Outlast needs tons of mana to work. You might as well play ivorytusk fortress and tuskguard at that point.

I would prefer to keep Sunblade Elf and Feat of Resistance, but these are very good suggestions. Thank you!
Mana dorks would mean something like Elvish Mystic and/or Sylvan Caryatid, correct?
I would replace longshot squad with Abzan Falconer, gives flying instead of reach. Allows you be more versatile you can block fliers and evade blockers
Also Sunblade elf doesn't trigger outlast abilities, might be good to replace it with an anafenza the foremost if you can our anything that can give out +1+1 counters to avoid actually tapping for outlast, speeds up the strategy
I prefer Longshot Squad over Abzan Falconer because of my run-ins with Stormbreath Dragon, but I understand what you mean on flying evasion.
I was actually able to get a few copies of Abzan Ascendancy - one of which is foil!
I'll be posting the deck I was able to build from a friend's generous gift of Abzan booster box goodies. We kind of share a pool of cards, which helps immensely.
I have Tuskguard Captain and another Disowned Ancestor in my "current side board", but what I'm really hoping for are getting a Siege Rhino or Anafenza or two - and, if possible, either Theros or M15 Ajani.
hey, Reap what is sown, dragonscale boon, anafenza, the foremost, and phalanx leader (yes, Its an old heroic) are amazing ways to get the +1/+1 tokens on your creatures WITHOUT LOSING A TURN TO OUTLAST THEM. IMO these types of cards are a must to make a budget outlast not seem weak or slow. Just a thought. Really digging this deck. Might emulate and modify it myself. Let me know how it does in FNM
Take out both nature's panoply and replace with phalanx leader. Trigger phalanx's heroic using feat of resistance. Perhaps swap 1 longshot for an aditional phalanx leader...
Same effect as Panoply, but you don't need to pay the huge strive cost to +1/+1 all your creatures... Thats probably the best combo I've ever come up with
I'm saying 4 phalanx leader instead of 1
3 color is right. Reap what is sown is slow along with dragonscale. Reap is only strong on a strong board state, effectively a worse ascendancy. Dragonscale is bad because outlast wants you to tap out and dragonscale is a huge broadcast as you are skipping on your outlast to do it. The 4 mana open that you'd want to be spending on playing things or outlasting hurts. And then phalanx leader. This is a classic example of seeing the christmasland and losing grip on reality. Yes, some activations are nice... but that requires cards that are subpar in an outlast deck. That weakens the build overall.
I'm having trouble with removal; a friend mains a Mardu deck and is able to bring out Bloodsoaked Champion and Goblin tokens very quickly. Any suggestions, preferably in "low mana cost" territory?
No worries! Thank you for the suggestion of Drown in Sorrow; with that, I'd likely just need to make sure my smaller Outlast creatures can survive it by getting them 2 +1/+1.
I'm considering Waste Not and Last Breath. Waste Not to counter tokens with tokens - since I can't always get Herald of Anafenza out - and Last Breath for Bloodsoaked Champion.
There's your own removal followed by 2 words. Abzan ascendancy. They kill your creature. You get a blocker. This just repeats and repeats until you... outlast them
Really, though. Aniok bond-kin, herald of anafenza, abzan falconer, and a couple of lifelink outlast thing. Last breath and waste not are a bit suboptimal, waste not because they don't discard that much and last breath because you're not thinking like a midrange deck. A midrange deck sees a recursive 2/1 and thinks first whether it can just be walled by something bigger. Drown in sorrow is a good pick.
I'm not really wanting to run Abzan Falconer. Why? Because I've seen Windstorm in some people's sideboards.
I have Abzan Battle Priest considered for sideboarding, though.
Oh! I also got 1 Anafenza, the Foremost yesterday at FNM for the Promo Banishing Light.

I'm hoping to get Anafenza very, very soon!
The main thing I want to do is focus on the Outlast creatures, which is one of the reasons I'll limit my deck to 1-2 Phalanx Leaders.
In other news, I recently was able to get a Seige Rhino!

Which I've previously had an extreme struggle against.
...that and I don't and don't want to run Caryatid+Courser combo and have no Planeswalker(s).
