I'm actualy wondering how many decks are running one or more copies of The Scarab God. I'd bet that number is right up there, with Temur, Sultai, 4c, Esper, and UB all running at least a sideboard copy.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.
"Entitled:" the entire ad hominem fallacy condensed into a single word. It doesn't strengthen your argument to attack motivations, it just makes you look like you don't understand the argument.
48% energy on the field doesn't mean that it's the best deck in the format, though. What this looks like to my own eyes is that a bunch of pros decided they'd rather play it safe with energy decks that they know are good (because they are basically good stuff decks) and very few innovators are manning the field.
Looks like vraska may be going up in value, though. The tour just showed a bunch of people how it can be played so now more people will feel comfortable buying her. I bought two of her for my own stuff, but I probably should have gotten the full play set. Albeit, it's kind of rare to want a full set of a 6+ cost card in any deck.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
So do people mostly not pay attention to the other competitions and then step into watching the pro-tour? I feel like this entire competition makeup is pretty consistent with what I've seen elsewhere. Also hearing the announcer say that black red aggro flew under the radar is... just really strange. Still, I'm surprised pros don't run Bone picker. I've been using that card and it always is worth the space in mono and mostly mono black.

Mono-white vampires... now that put a smile on my face seeing that deck just take the entire house of cards down. 100% conversion rate, holy smokes. What is nuts is that deck is basically the one my friend runs as his budget standard list, and it was winning him plenty of games.

On one hand I feel like I should've bought vampire monument when it was still unproven. On the other I'm pretty sure I'll only be playing Standard through Arena once it releases.
Also, this is the second time I'm pissed by the new rotation. Kaladesh is not letting Amonkhet shine at all and they'll be gone together just like what happened with BFZ and SOI.
I looked at my paper collection and realized I'm only missing the Legion Conquestador and the Aviary Mechanic. Also, the only part of the deck that has any hope of being expensive is Metallic Mimic. I doubt the deck will be a top contender long term due to it mostly just being a silver bullet to the pro-tour ixalan meta, but that just shows people can play standard and not have to pay out the nose.

It's not so much new rotation as it is new block structure; that Wizards made energy too good and hardly anything in Amonkhet to counter it is another issue.
Day 1 and 2 coverage will begin at 11am ET with draft. Five rounds of Standard will start somewhere around 3:30PM ET.
