I'm a little surprised nobody tried jamming the Pummeler combo deck. I thought Invigorated Rampage would give it a little boost, and Liliana is seeing a lot less play lately.
What I dislike about how the meta is shaping up is that the cost perspective on decks is pretty abysmal. Because the variety of viable top tier decks appears to be limited to maybe two true archetypes all the demand is going to be on those cards, and the big ones are all mythic with one rare.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I'm eager to see what banlist reaction they have. I really think they're starting to realize that R&D is the issue, and if that's the case, their sets in the pipeline are uber ****ed. That would explain the doubling up of ban announcements.
If they decide to throw out more bans, the future of Magic finance is starting to look real shaky.
Jesus people, Mardu Vehicles dominated because let's face it, people didn't build their decks and sideboards for the match up. There's been plenty of PTs where the aggro deck comes out and triumphs because everyone was so caught up with something else. BG and Jeskai/Saheeli will adjust and knock down Mardu a peg or two. BG has Ishkanah and Liliana to mess with the creatures while control will adjust their removals and boardwipes. I think however, BG will definitely have the easier time of the two.
I may not be the biggest fan the format right now but at least there are three distinct archetypes that are completely different from one another that fit into aggro/midrange/control.

The problem is the perception of a single deck dominating. Presumably they made the 3 standard bans because they knew people were leaving Standard - this was their chance to prove that things have changed, but if it looks like things haven't...well...the recent regime likes bans. So now they're weighing the people on the sidelines vs. the people who have paid $15 each for Hearts of Kirans or Gideons or Scrapheap Scroungers or whatever is on the potential chopping block.
Am i the only one who sees irony in the fact, that shortly after the wave that banned the highest amount of cards in standard history, we see 26 copies of a card played in the PT top 8?
A mythic rare notably.
Seems to me that FFL lately is dropping a ball or 4

Give credit, where credit is due. Give irony and sarcasm, when ignorance and stupidity is found. The whip is kept for special occasions
The Internet was a revelation to me, I never imagined there are so many idiots on this planet.
Well hopefully this settles itself before the ban time, because Wizards does not need to start crushing consumer confidence in the format that is suppose to be the money maker, but I think a lot of it will depend on FNM attendance. I mean in Alara/Zendikar standard, Jund was overwhelmingly played, but people kept going to FNM cause they liked playing with/against Jund so wizards didn't do anything.
Jace SHOULD be unbanned in modern. I hate all the people saying "JACE IS BROKEN OHMYGOD HE'LL TAKE OVER AND CAWBLADE WILL REIGN SUPREME AGAIN" when bloodbraid elf literally comes down after jace and kicks jace right in the crotch, takes jace's lunch money, and jace is left to bleed out on the sidewalk in agonizing pain.
Radiant Flames just mops the Mardu deck up. The lack on a good old 4 mana sweeper makes life tough.
The Mardu deck is just playing the best removal.UD kills both the Car and Saheeli in 1 card. RB control might be a thing. Possibly Grixis. Sadly I doubt it.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
Dude, the Vehicles stay on the board and players can just hold a dude in hand. They'll cast a dude after you sweep the board and or bring back the Scrounger at the end step. Sweepers are not the answer to this deck, it wasn't least season either.

We have a winner that isn't BG or Jeskai Saheeli, yet people are still unhappy? smh. I have no idea what kind of result you were hoping for.
How about a meta isn't dominated by ONE archetype? At this point, I'd gladly go back to BG/Jeskai Saheeli dominating Standard; that is technically 100% more diverse than what this weekend's PT results indicate.
Also does anyone else here notice that even in the days of SIEGE RHINO and COLLECTED COMPANY, there still wasn't a PT where 6 out of 8 decks were from ONE archetype?
The most ironic part is that this is all despite WoTC's recent efforts to make Standard more fun and diverse, including the recent bannings. WoTC's ever-so valiant efforts to help Standard somehow achieved the exact opposite. We can't wait to see how they're going to "save" Standard this time. How about just straight-up banning all the most played cards?
Last PT Top 8 this bad was modern with the Eldrazi
If wizards ban Gideon BG will take over the format. If they had choose not to ban anything this would have been a healthy standard. UW flash is dead because of the bans. If they ban Gideon we loose fringe tier 1 decks like GW Tokens. I think they should just ride it out until fall.

You run artifact removal for the vehicles. My point is that the deck can be hated out. However there isn't much left, variety wise, to use.
Let's just be honest and say that vehicles were a mistake. Just like Delve, Phyrexian mana, Dredge, Affinity, and so on.
Welcome to the New World Order that is full of garbage commons and uncommons to supposedly make draft better. Which is a joke. People are just too dumb to realized that WotC is using that to push all chase cards into Mythic so they sell packs.
The game is losing players at an alarming rate and the future sets dont look to be better as they were made by the same clowns that put the last set together.
I mean it may not be their fault as the plan was to go on a 18 month set cycle. I'm sure this messed up the development of sets. However we currently only have 6 sets so that's not really true.

Has GW Tokens showed enough for tier 1 status? It seems like a deck with the right tuneing, could be very good. I think to many chase rares are being printed at mythic rarity. Its driving decks to unatable prices for many players. If wizards really cares about players and the standard format they would abolish mythic rarity.

we're not going to have better uncommons unless WOTC decides to print the literal Skullclamp again. Reflector Mage was so good it needed to get banned and the uncommon cycles from the current block is full of constructed playables.
also, no *****, WOTC needs to make profit like any other company.
Can't play Pummeler in a format with Walking Ballista.

Top 8 = 6 of 8 on Mardu Vehicles (other two are Jund Energy Aggro and B/G Delirium)
