Any decks in particular you expect the Pros to play? Any breakout cards you expect to see? Here are a few of mine:
- I expect the CCLC (Crazy Cat Lady Combo) decks to dominate, both Jeskai and 4-C varieties. You take a very good Control deck and put in a turn 4 instant win condition as an after thought and that's how you get a deck somewhere between Tier 0 and 1. The only thing that can hold it down is that every other deck will play hate against this one.
- The most broken single card in Standard is still Aetherworks Marvel. A Turn 4 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger (or even Kozilek) is not an instant win, but is close enough. Counterspells help against it, and Jeskai has plenty, but the amount of Ceremonious Rejection in sideboards has been going down a lot. This is my guess for the winner.
- BG Snek is still a very good midrange deck and has the most answers to the CCLC in the maindeck. It will be played, but plays far too fair a game of magic to win.
- All in aggro... maybe, but I doubt it will outrace a good Control player. Sad days.
- Burn-Control, in the form of Izzet or Grixis Dynavolt Tower. Good instant answers to the CCLC, especially if a Tower sticks. My second guess for the winner.
- Abzan tokens, featuring Westvale Abbey and/or Zulaport Cutthroat as a finisher. Weak to flyers, which are in short supply at the moment.
I doubt the Copy Cat copy will succeed all that much. Every Pro knows it's a possibility and so they will pack answers. If the Pro Tour meta is as anti-Copy Cat as seems likely, playing the deck would likely be a mistake.
