I'm sure it had to do with whiners and not the fact that Standard is at one of it's lowest points ever.
All three bans were valid and i'm actually looking forward to playing Standard now.
banning Copter and Emrakul is reasonable, but I don't really understand why they banned RM. Standard may be at a low point, but saying it has to do with Copter or Emrakul... I can't agree with that. Well, WOTC is free to try whatever they want to lure more players into standard, but this ban is so unusual it staggers me. we are nowhere near caw-blade levels of degeneracy. MTGO has a very balanced metagame with UW, Marvel and different aggro decks fighting for the #1 spot. With the introduction of Fatal Push and Yahenni's Expertise, I was anticipating GB decks to get back into the mix too. I was pretty hyped for what the metagame might look like.
Banning of Copter and Emrakul make sense. I do not feel they were over powered or broken, but it made playing them effectively very easy, which limited the decks one would play. If I play 4 rounds of standard once a week and play either BG, RW, RG marvel, or Vehicles even though I had good match ups vs them, it got really boring. You have to ban Reflector mage because 1. It is oppressive to creature based decks. 2. The possibility that Shaheeli twin being a huge deck, being able to bounce your opponents threats every turn until you can securely get your combo off is going to make the deck even better than it could be.
I am a green player and I have access to a lot of hexproof, so Reflector Mage was a minimal threat to me, but I play green in every deck just so I do not get blown out by Reflector Mage. That is the issue with it.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
I'm not so sure bans on Emrakul and Copter weren't needed, but they should have at least given more lead time. Announce they will be banned starting with Amonkhet instead of Aether Revolt. I can't imagine how pissed I would be if I had been trying to save up to get a playset of Copters or Emrakuls to have a competitive standard deck, finally bought it last week and then hear about the ban today. It also seems strange that Copter is getting banned when there are potential new answers to it in this format. More artifact hate and other flying vehicles like Heart of Kiran seem like it might not be quite as busted.
A copter-like card is not going to be ever reprinted, so keep your copies, keep fingers crossed for frontier (even if you don't play it) and they will be worth more than they used to be a few days ago.
Frontier is gaining ground but until it is officially recognized, it will never amount to more than a niche and won't affect its value...

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy went from ten dollars to thirty-five when frontier started gaining ground as a format. That's without it being an official format. It also has the support of CFB and Star City pros. Chance are, even if it isn't recognized, people will play it, and that will make the cards have value, even if they're banned in standard.

I mean I agree I don't think Frontier is going many places either until it's officially recognized, but [[Collected Company]] would not have spiked recently if it wasn't for Frontier. Not to mention Jace. It's having an effect on prices, regardless if it lasts or not.

Baby Jace is played in Legacy, Commander, (Maybe vintage ) and Modern. He droped as low as $20 and then people realising the low price post rotation ( Between Shadowns and Kaladesh ) speculators and other formarts players started to buy them...
Its not because of Frontier, frontier is a new fan made formart that has at least 4 really competitive decks.
Note: The same happened to Snapcaster mage when it rotated from standard: Between Theros and Born of the gods his price spiked from $20 to $30 and after fate reforged it spiked again.
After rotations people gets more interessed in playing other formarts, competitive players go for modern as it is also a FNM formart sinse RTR. Frontier is the formart of speculators and people how for any reasoons don't go for modern as the second formart.
Like others said before: It will take at least 2 or 3 years for frontier to become a enjoyable/balanced/diverse formart.
