So anyone else feel like they are staring down the barrel of a shotgun when looking at Chandra compared to the rest of Kaladesh? She's worth more than double the next most expensive card in the set and everything else is priced about where I'd picture them. Unfortunately, I did really want to play with the new chandra, but this is insane on cost.

Personally, I'm going to wait and see if what Wizards said about Masterpieces lowering prices the way they did in BFZ holds true. Gideon is absolutely the most played card in Standard and he's been above $20 for most of his run because of the number of BFZ packs opened. Chandra won't be in nearly as many decks as Gideon is in, so the demand for her will be lower than his. Lilianna has nearly the same popularity as Gideon, but doesn't have the Masterpieces forcing prices down.

Her demand feels like a combination of casual appeal and a lot of speculation at the moment by both retailers and people playing. I've only bought one of her and have been stuck since budget wise it's either two gideon or one more chandra. I'm bending towards just getting two gideon and waiting on chandra until the end of the month when the pack openings happen. Not like my upcoming deck is going to get built any faster at this rate. She is giving me serious Sarkan vibes from Kahns of Tarkir.

I've never really gotten to "complain" before. Here I go! Yay!
It's really hard to theorycraft an imaginary Esper Control deck for myself, when the first cards that come to mind are Liliana, the Last Hope and Dovin Baan. :'(
... I mean, the last time I played Esper Control, was with Sphinx's Revelation, anyway, but the pain is still there?
Hi all. I am mainly -a modern player, but I also like playing sealed and prereleases. I just opened 2 Chandras and wanted to asked you type 2 guys if you think her current price (30 Euro/34$) is good to sell or if it has chances to go up. I have received offers for 25 Euro/28$ and I 'm unsure what to do since I really don't know how the Standard metagame will welcome her.

Not sure about Euro price right now but people post pre-release are 2nd hand selling them for 33-37 USD. I don't think they are going to retain that 40+ dollar price tag and have already dropped my pre-orders so when the listings show up on TCGPlayer for pre-release cards I can save myself a few dollars.

I think ~$250 is the perfect price for a standard deck. The Delirium decks being so expensive is ridiculous and the Torrential Gearhulk spike is torturous. Also, Kaladesh's booster box EV is still in the $130's. Is this solely because of Masterpieces? Weren't they supposed to lower the prices of the standard cards? SOI has 2 cards over $10. EMN has 4. KLD has 7.
Check back in a month basically. We're in peak demand season right now in the first 2 weeks after a Standard PT, as more product gets opened things should normalize.
I did notice the Masterpieces don't seem to be getting hyped as much as the Expeditions were.
I think she will eventually fall to 20-25 probably around the time the next set is spoiled. There is likely going to be a new planeswalker that will steal away some of her thunder.

I guess I'll try and make due without her then for now, I'd like a set but I'm not in dire need of a set

I'm in the same boat. I want them but I'm not in dire need of them at the moment same for Smuggler's Copter which I'll pickup in the 7-8 dollar range or less down the road.
Right now the market is pretty soft on standard cards that are in print, so the prices may dip down a bit but Smuggler's Copter is definitely going to settle around 6 bucks much like Spell Queller. On rotation due to pack openings I'd imagine it will tank pretty hard unless it finds a home in modern.

Problem with the insane prices is the Mythic rarity. When you slap something with god like power and make it that everyone needs a playset of them for their decks. Then make only 4-5 Mythics per box. Everyone wants them and the supply is really low. If they take the Mythic rarity away and just go back to the C/U/R a lot of the prices would stabalize in future sets.

It's been a problem for years but wizards doesn't seem to care. They keep printing ultra playable mythics that are must haves for decks to function at a high level. If wizards really care about standard they would do away with mythic rares in my opinion.

It's a rare in a set that's going to be opened a reasonable amount.
Probably. It might just not be timely.
I might give it a bit then, at least til the standard showdown ends then. maybe they'll get opened more
