Those token lista look like they can beat gw bit have no game against jeskai. That aeems to be the trend, you either beat one or the other but not both.
Jeskai Tokens has pretty good game 1 against Jeskai Dark. Dark doesn't have much in the main deck to deal with a ton of tokens, and if tokens lands an ascendency it's pretty great. Postboard Dark gets a lot better.
lol every deck looks the same due to the ridiculously easy to achieve 4 and 5 color manabases. It encourages everyone to simply play the best cards in the format, with no punishment, as land destruction and even spreading seas or blood moon have been deemed to be "unfun".

Sometimes even crumble to dust ain't worth it. People are not running 4 of the battle lands and good luck trying to hit a fetchlands with crumble.

To the people that say that a card needs to be a higher rarity because of Limited... I hate you guys so much. I present to you with this.
Why don't these esper control players plan for Evolutionary Leap? Surely they should see it coming by now. It completely destroyes Esper Control's game plan.

Say what?
The top five archetypes all seem significantly different to me.
Even when the colors match, there are different game plans. There are similar game plans with different sets of colors.
I don't see this at all.
This seems fantastic. In 6 months we will be losing the fetches and trilands, going to a two color metagame. The fixing is fantastic, and we get to see something new. Then it will change again.
Calcano's deck is very spicy, can't wait to have the full list
I played against a deck like his on Lackey about a month ago and got REKT. I was playing a crappy hero's blade brew so assumed I only got rekt so hard because my own deck sucked.
But Aristocrats are awesome. I never played Blue black, my own version of mardu, but Zulaport Cutthroat's ability is just so powerful. I love coming back and winning games in one turn when my opponent thinks he has the game in the bag
"The format hasn't been solved yet, we haven't even seen the PT lists", they said.
Uh huh. Sure. No super secret UR Thopter technology to be found in this metagame. Just more of the same
If you want the tech so badly, figure it out yourself and stop relying on the pro-tour to dictate how you play magic. If you don't like the metagame, build something that beats the metagame.

I played against many versions but since I play 4 Anafenza, the Foremost on my main deck they never could do the combo, but I'm curious to see Calcano's build, i'm not sure but I think I saw a Sidisi's Faithful on his graveyard, the card would be sweeeeeeeeet ^^
It doesn't need cutthroat operating to be good do. It's still a good beatstick deck with a lot of recursion even if you never get cutthroat. The rally versions that rely entirely on combo kill are quite bad IMO.

I think the people who say this don't actually play magic at all. If the pros aren't coming up with something, chances you, neither will you.

???
Calcano's deck looks better than UR Thopter. Just because fewer people discovered it (so far only heard about his team toying with it) doesn't make it any less innovative/strong/awesome.
I do agree many of the Pros got lazy this PT from most of the interviews but we'll just have to see what shakes out tomorrow.
It's an instant speed 5/5 trampler for 4. Wtf do you people want seriously? It has applications in populate/ above the curve beats decks, or in Bant control/ flash. I seriously think anyone mad at this card for any reason other than losing an attacker to instant speed wurm, should go home and make their own awesome card game and leave the rest of us alone.

Use your brain dude. Every pro-tour, someone comes up with a deck that the other pros never saw coming, and wrecks them with it. Calcano's deck was designed by someone who isn't a pro, Calcano said it himself.
The pros are not magic gods. There's nothing stopping non-pros from coming up with meta breaking brews.
We will rebuild.

RNA Standard: Grixis Midrange, Jund Deathwhirler, Sultai Vannifar
GRN Standard: Red Midrange, Mono-Blue Tempo, Wr Aggro, Gruul Experimental Dinosaurs, Sultai Midrange, Jeskai Midrange
Modern: Bant Spirits
Forcing a single archetype in all formats: too many colors, bad mana.

If you don't even try, you'll never succeed.
