I think for a live event, a forum is not the right venue to discuss during the event; the event itself is too fast paced for being discussed here. Afterward, sure, lets do the full thought process and 20/20 hindsight thing. I do notice they see some more comments during the week after the event.
I do greatly appreciate these threads. Helps me know what events are going on, and I do watch them if I'm not busy.
I caught some of the 4 color company deck. I'm glad someone other than me seems to think the mana isn't horrible for that kind of stuff. I am, however, impressed it went 9-0. Was a flurry of Fleecemanes, Mantis Riders, and Knuckleblades. Too bad See the Unwritten isn't also an instant.

For the most part I was disappointed in the lists. Mostly just Siege Rhinos and/or Den Protector/Raptor decks. It's nice to see Collected Company come on the scene, but that isn't that new now either.
How does having 6 vs 22 life make you want to attack with a 3/3 when you have a questionable board comparison. I feel like the play mistakes were rather egregious in this match and that was not the only one.
I was rooting so hard for GW Megamorph. Just disappointing to see a few things mismanaged to make for a loss in the finals. Sigh, I guess I'm still trying to pick up 2 more Deathmists to finish the deck.

I think Syed played into the "this is how I've been winning games in the past" role more than he should've. From outside the game, it was easy to spot that he was just dead to a combat trick or two. However, I think Syed approached the game with a bit of bias given that beating down with a functionally evasive raptor was how he was winning throughout the day against Abzan decks.
While Syed might have made some mistakes in the finals, you have to remember the amount of magic he's played over the weekend and the stress he was under. While he had fantastic draws vs. mono-red aggro and big red aggro, his Collected Company hits were largely abysmal in the finals. So, while Syed made some egregious errors, I think you have to assume that he was tired and a bit frustrated. It's forgivable, really, given his record against the field.
Anyway, I think this is Syed's rookie season so here's to his ROTY race. He's going to need some help at the PTs to catch up to Cohen.
Main event went horrible. (3-3 drop) played Mardu dragons just some bad beats. losing games vs Control which I should have won easily. (he had no cards in hand to my 4 + resolved outpost siege, he drew out perfectly. was just hilarious). Friday and Sunday I cleaned up side events winning several booster boxes (5 total over the weekend). Got some sweet alters, playmats and foils for my deck. Was all really well organised except for a small delay on Saturday after r1.
Loved the 4C company deck, hopefully this format keeps being like this cause I really like it at the moment.
Are the side events the same at all GPs? If so, what are they? I'm planning on hitting up GP Sydney later this year and there are various ticket prices, some of which grant entry to side events, others that don't, and there's no info on the site as to exactly what they are and I've never been to a GP before so...

Love the snark coming from them, though.
GWU Bant Manifest - The Future Is Here. Or it will be at the end of turn. GWU
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
