According to this article, UBx Control is by far and away the absolute best deck in the format, no questions asked. Now, I'll admit I don't quite understand all the numbers and reasoning used, but given the results so far, and while the deck has been strong, that's a tad bit hyperbolic, don't you think? I mean hell, the article goes so far to suggest that UB is a busted deck, even making comparisons to Caw-Blade. This deck has gotten some shiny toys, but I think that's going just a tad bit overboard.
Yeah I don't know if I really agree with his assessment. It is true that the deck was dominant at PTDTK and is for sure a solid deck, but claiming it has a strong matchup against the red aggro decks just seems... wrong.
The article is just sgreeing into the hype and a couple early tournies don't really prove anything. GR Dragons? Utterly destroyed. Where is it now? Virtually unseen. It's just hype and newness of the set to be honest. There will be a deck that beats it, I imagine a deck with Den Protector/Raptor combo will put too much pressure on the control deck's removal/counter package. It's way too early to make any of these claims.
Yeah... no. There's a difference between getting half of the top 8 in a tournament or a few and doing that in almost every tournament for a long period of time. Let people shift their sideboard choices around a little bit and have the dust settle. If its still doing that afterwards and the meta starts becoming UB control and things built to fight UB control, you can think about talking about Caw-blade.
