Okay, so I found this topic on Google and I couldn't help but post my situation.
I am basically playing Shota Yasooka's UB list from the PT. The only changes I made, was that I added Anticipate and removed some Jace's Ingenuities. My friend is playing Esper which is basically the same exact list as mine, minus Icefall Regent, but with 2x Dragonlord Ojutai and 3x Narset Transcendent.
I haven't won a match yet. Everytime he sticks Narset, he always has the counterspell to protect her. He always ends up rebounding something like a treasure cruise or dig through time, and even if he doesn't rebound anything, he will just reveal a scorn or dissolve off her +1 which locks the game up. Once Narset goes ultimate, it is impossible for me to win the game.
I will admit, my friend is a veteran control player and I am not as skilled as he is, but I know I am good enough because I have beaten him plenty of times in the past like in the old RTR standard when I was playing Esper and he was playing UWR with Aetherling as both our finishers.
If anyone can give me some pointers as to what it is I may be doing wrong, or any tips for this matchup, I would really appreciate it. I just can't seem to beat a resolved Narset, Transcendent. If she goes ultimate, its just straight up game over. Once again, if anyone has any pointers, I would really appreciate it. At the moment, the matchup just feels really bad for me. Thanks to anyone who reads this and replies. Have a good day.

I know it's not super helpful but... that's kind of just how it is. UB control is better against the field overall, but Esper control beats UB control. Your best bet is to hope you get the right draws and he doesn't, or to focus a large part of your sideboard on winning that one matchup if you're confident enough in the rest of your matchups that you don't think you'll need to sideboard that much.
Okay, it has now become evident that my LGS's meta has become saturated with Esper Dragons. I have no problem having a decent 50/50 match against that deck with my UB control. The only deck that poses me a problem is the one my friend is running with the Narset, Transcendent.
Before this shift in the meta, I devoted 10 cards in the sideboard against Atarka Red. Now that I see that there is virtually no Atarka Red showing up at the moment, I think its time for a shift in my sideboard.
If anyone can tell me the 5 best cards that I can put in my sideboard to beat the Narset version of Esper, I would really appreciate it. I already know Thoughtseize, Duress and Negate are good ideas. Is there anything else I should be thinking about? Should I start thinking about putting some Gainsay's in the board?
Even though it is kinda of comical to do so, there really are that many Esper Dragons lists running around my LGS, so if anyone just wants to tell me a 15 card sideboard that will straight up make this matchup at the minimum even for me again, I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys, have a great day.
If your meta has shifted to control, then just play something that beats control. Narset works in a Mirror for control, be he's not going to help other matchups. I would recommend Abzan because they hare the most resilient threats and a lot of Versatility. Temur has a lot of the same. They're not as resilient, but you get better threat density and you get Sarkhan Unbroken and Xenagos, The Reveler who are both really strong against control matchups.

I am not asking for another deck to play. I have my deck and that deck is UB Dragons. I have no problem beating the regular Esper Dragons list. I just wanted to know if there were any good sideboard cards or strategies to fight against Narset, Transcendent.
My ideas were Negate, Disdainful Stroke, Thoughtseize, and Duress. If anyone has any other SB ideas, please let me know. Also, since I am still practicing Control itself, any tips on how to play against this card would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks.
You pretty much listed everything Bunny, I assume you're already running downfall so that covers pretty much it. I would side in Negates and Strokes against dragons regardless of if they have narset or not. Just hitting Dig alone is enough reason for me to side in all of those, much less all the other stuff lol.
Narset is certainly a controverial walker in how people feel about her. People seem to either love her or hate her with no middle ground. She's not proven for sure, and even my best outting with her when I ultimated her 4 times in route to a 12th at a PPTQ I still felt she was win more. Almost every time I +1 she misses even with 31 non land/noncreature spells in the deck. Stastically it should be closer to 50% but she just has been very off for me so I cut her. Always willing to consider moving her back in, but I think she gets way better once downfall rotates. Until then I think shes moderately playable in some decks but not a must include.
