I honestly see some potential with Hero's Blade in the new standard, namely with everyone's favorite new Dasher Zurgo Bellstriker. Doesn't seem like too bad of an idea to spend 2 mana on the artifact. Fitting it into a Mardu deck is certainly worth trying out.
Other cheap Mardu legendaries it could possibly be okay with:
I don't think there's enough upside to warrant the build-around. If there was a deck that ran a lot of legendary creatures and was good by its own merit then maybe you'd slot it into that.
If you curve a Hero's Blade into the new Surrak then he automatically turns on his own Formidable, which is admittedly a neat interaction.
Only deck that I can think of that runs a lot of legendary creatures is the Sultai Whip deck, but it would seem super impractical in that deck. Not to mention, those decks are incredibly crowded. Otherwise, it typically runs Sidisi, Brood Tyrant, Sidisi, Undead Vizier, Tasigur, the Golden Fang, and maybe a Silumgar, the Drifting Death. As much as I would love to play a 7/7 Tasigur, there is literally not one card you would want to replace with a Hero's Blade.
What I'm wondering is, if this card didn't have the word "legendary" in the text, would it even be good then? Working with any creature? I'm not so sure to be honest.
I think that if it didn't say legendary it would be insane because its a card that drawing multiples of is completely fine and there are so many strong haste creatures in the format that instead of your opponent worrying about being at 4 and you topdecking stormbreath, now they have to worry about 7/10, etc. It also makes things with Ferocious and Formidable a lot easier to use.
Idk,maybe you are right and maybe this wouldn't be the most broken thing ever/even playable but turn 2 this followed by a turn 3 rabble into attack for 4 with a token seems pretty good.
Also I have played against this deck once or twice. The blade was pretty cray as I was running not-black so my removal basically did nothing. Surrak is obviously amazing with this but the rest of the deck has a problem with synergy as the cards themselves, although strong, are not up to par with control/midrange creature/spell value/efficiency.

Hero's Blade Cmc 2
Equipped creature gets +3/+2.
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may attach Hero's Blade to it.
Equip 4
I have tested hero's blade out on mtgo and it can just wreck. But if you don't draw it, you have all these powerful cards that are easy to remove (the 3/2 first strike chick, the 3/2 first strike couple etc). But, it is pretty fun having it out and playing kholagars, swinging for 8 through the air with dash.. gfg :P.
the fact that it automatically turns on surrak is kinda sweet. I'd be interested in that scenario alone, but then throwing in some zurgo seems very interesting
I think Daxos actually has a lot of potential too. You basically make him unblockable to anything that can kill him and able to kill anything that can. You gain cards off of the deal and life. That sounds nice. I always thought Daxos had potential he was just too small and fragile.

I don't think Arashin Sovereign and Jalira really fit the aggro concept. Plus, she can only get Arashin in play turn 5, which isn't all that impressive. I understand that you could sac a legend and play the one in your hand, but it seems like there are better things to do. For example, cut those 5 slots for 3 jeskai ascendancy and 2 Tormenting voice.
I played against a Mardu hero's blade deck at a recent gpt. I managed a win because of fast starts in game 2 and 3, but game one was pretty rough. Tymerat? the Murder King, Brimaz, Alesha, Anax and Cymede were all there doing work. Along with rabblemaster and a couple small threats. But what killed me was when he was able to dash in Kologhan, equip the blade for free, swing, and return it to his hand. As a G/r devo build I had no instant speed answer to this maindeck and I just got run over.
Other cheap Mardu legendaries it could possibly be okay with:
Alesha, Who Smiles at Death
Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit
Brimaz, King of Oreskos
If you want to get really cute, then maybe even throw it on
Anax and Cymede
Outside of Mardu, I can see it work well with
Surrak, the Hunt Caller
Yasova Dragonclaw
I'd really like to test it out, since it'd be cool to see more artifact love. Any thoughts? Seems like Mardu Warriors might be its best bet.

4 Zurgo Bellstriker
4 Sylvan Caryatid
3 Tymaret, the Murder King
3 Yasova Dragonclaw
3 Polukranos, World Eater
3 Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury
3 Hero's Downfall
2 Hero's Podium
3 Crater's Claws
Granted, this is just a throw together. Ultimate Price, Roast, Thoughtsieze and the new Surrak could find a place for sure.
